  1. It seems as if the Giants were just 100% comfortable with the Boss-man. Reese and company are smart, they had to of known a 6th would never be enough to get Gonzo, especially considering that the owner from KC is a tightwad. The Packers offered him a 3rd and he turned it down and he has a history of being stingy. We never upped the offer of a 6th from what I've read basically in a way saying that they're more than happy with the improvements the Boss-man has made and were never seriously interested to get TG. I know it looks like I'm only saying this now because we didn't get Gonzo but I stated earlier in this thread that I wouldn't have been pissed at all if we didn't get TG.

  2. WOW

    From rotoworld.com

Cowboys agreed with Roy Williams on a five-year, $45 million extension. More than $20 million is guaranteed, according to Chris Mortensen.

Williams is rewarded with a top-five receiver deal despite topping 850 yards once in his career. His work ethic has also been questioned and it's debatable how well his similar attributes will mesh with Terrell Owens. Jerry Jones had to get this deal done after giving up so much for Williams and at least Tony Romo has a replacement for T.O. once Owens declines. Williams' short-term value rises in Dallas, and his long-term value skyrockets. Oct. 15 - 10:29 am et

  3. The matchup that this adds to the Cowboys worries me tbh. As for what they gave up- their 2009 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks for Roy and Detroit's 7th? WOW is all I can say. That's a shit load to give up. Kudos to Detroit on making the move. Roy more than likely wouldn't have re-signed with them after this season and they got a ton for him. It's about time they started making good decisions and I'm not surprised that this happened in the post Millen era.

  4. This is what happens when people who don't know about our team try to judge us. How many times this off-season did we see that us losing Reggie Torbor was a "significant loss" LOL. No offense to Reggie whatsoever but cmon now. Boss has improved his blocking since last year but you don't hear about that because TE's are mostly judged by receiving statistics. Here's an article written by surprise surprise someone who covers our team on a daily basis, Garafolo.

  5. Plus do we really need Gonzo? I have to be honest, Boss is run blocking like a mad man. I've been very impress by Boss' run blocking ability so far.

I won't be heartbroken at all. If can get him for a nice price I'm all for it but if not oh well we'll still have shit load of draft picks to possibly move up in the draft or make a different trade in the off-season. I still think the Boss-man is the future TE of this team and I'm sure he realizes that. But I will say having a guy like Gonzo at tightend on an already solid offense would give DC's nightmares.

  6. GONZALEZ TO GIANTS?

A reader tells us that KSHB in Kansas City is reporting that Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez has requested a trade, and that one of the teams in the running is the New York Gootball Fiants. (It’s an inside joke that you’ll understand only if you check the site every day, multiple times per day.)

Though we haven’t confirmed that KSHB is reporting this information, we’ve learned separately that, indeed, an effort is afoot to move Gonzalez out of Kansas City.

The trade deadline is October 14 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

    Stay tuned.

I am thinking some KC radio station was just talking about that story and that is where this rumor all started.

I saw that too but the poster at the forum said neither team would confirm or deny it. Unless he mis heard it or is lying wouldn't both teams just come out and deny it? You could very well be right though. I think I found the online site of the radio station he was talking about. I'm listening live but they're broadcasting some local college or highschool game right now.

  8. Let me start by saying that this is only a RUMOR and should be taken with a grain of salt considering that big trades rarely happen during the year. It is at the very least worth mentioning though. A chiefs fan from another board I go to posted that he heard that the Giants were talking to KC about trading for Tony Gonzalez at a Chiefs board. I found the board and the topic starter said he heard it on a local radio station and neither the Giants or Chiefs would confirm or deny it. Again, I remain highly skeptical of this happening but I figure I'd post it.

  9. I was realistic about our chances in the playoffs had we made it. It's just the way it ended at Shea. I don't know, '06 and '07 were bad but this just felt worse. Nothing we can do about it now but it's clear some major changes are needed for '09 and not just with the bullpen.

  10. This was the toughest loss I've ever endured. Honestly, it wasn't even that bad immediately after the game but hours later it's starting to sink in. To go from such a high after watching Johan pitch one of the best games ever by a Mets pitcher to what happened today... brutal man.

This is worse than last year IMO. It's like having your heart torn out and stomped on. I was so pumped yesterday and today before the game. I can't even watch highlights of the game. This one's gonna sting for a bit. *Cracks open another beer*

  11. Nice post game ceremony. It really really sucks to go out on a loss but what are you gonna do? It was nice to see some of the guys from those 80's and 90's teams I grew up watching. I was a huge Strawberry and Doc fan as a kid. I remember mimicking the Strawman's batting stance when we played sandlot baseball :D , good times

So long Shea, thanks for the memories.
