  1. Amani Toomer ranks 35th all time in receiving yards... I'm gonna miss this guy. I'll never forget the year he lost the receiving title by 1 yard to Randy Moss and didn't even make the pro bowl. Unbelievable... Its kind of sad seeing Toomer go - He's the last "original Giant" from the early years.

  2. Lets just assume no Owens "antics" happened his entire career (consider him the Derek Jeter of football) - I still would not take him. He drops a ton of balls is how old - 36? and can't get off the jam coverage anymore...

Man I don't think I have ever hated another athlete as much as I hate Owens. The guy is scum.

  3. Smart move IMO. However I think this says it all about how Reese feels about him. If someone were to pony up their 1st for him, I think Reese would be smiling ear to ear. It's sucks for Jacobs though and I wonder how he will react next season if nobody has the brass to give away a 1st for for him.

I think our beast Jacob's days may be done. And that sucks.

This and your T.O. talk in the same day? Are you tripping on acid or smoking salvia by any chance?

  4. Don't want Boldin (T.O JR.) or Johnson their both head cases and both could destroy the locker room, Eli does not have the mental leadership to handle either guy and both would be Shockey only ten fold yelling at Eli every 3 and out, on the sideline or jesus christ Boldin and Gilbride :LMAO: lets go for Braylon Edwards who will be cheap and just needs a change

Just because Boldin - a receiver who you could argue outplayed Fitzgerald for most of his career (and this year before his injury) wants out of Arizona - he's a T.O. junior? No I haven't seen him constantly screaming on the sidelines, calling his quarterback gay, calling another quarterback jealous of him and that being the reason why he was traded, getting into fist fights with teammates in the locker room, claiming other teammates are conspiring against him behind his back in their hotel rooms, overdosing on pain killers, holding public workouts while being interviewed in his driveway, being suspended by his own team..... want me to keep going?

  5. I don't know why everyone is so down on Ike. Ike wasn't great but he was solid for us for a few years. I guess he gets alot of heat because he was either a first or second round pick (I get him and Toomer mixed up in the order). But he certainly was not the biggest bust ever. Just take a look at William Joseph, Ron Dayne, Dave Brown, etc.

  6. I know I'm going to get heat for this but I'm putting the OVER on my mark (has nothing to do with vegas or anything just opinion) of 105 wins.

Joba, Wang, Pettite, AJ, CC as the rotation is flat out scary... and the bats can't be even as close to as bad as they were last year - Who woulda thought our pitching would be good and the bats would fail us?

  7. Wr or linebacker makes sense but the Giants FO is so unpredictable with this stuff sometimes - I could see them taking a DE or DT or something like that too. I guess I will give them the benefit of the doubt considering they discovered Webster, Tuck, Osi, Jacobs, and Shockey (I remember wanting Asleigh Lellie soo badly that year) - glad im not running the show.

  8. This is now something to talk about... big news that deserves it's own thread. I agree that the Giants HAVE to do something. It is not ideal for them to rely on a rookie WR like Britt. But with Houshmanzadeh and Bryant free agents, I would wait until after the free agency period starts to see who is franchised and who is out there before I give up high picks. If they do give up a 1st and 3rd, I hope they also sign Dansby.

Considering the last good receiver we drafted (besides merely a possession receiver - Because I do love steve smith) was Amani Toomer - I would say that history has not been kind to us. Ron Dixon, Tim Carter, Sinorice Moss, David Tyree (although he made up for everything with that catch is merely a special teams man), etc etc... . The Giants FO needs to make the move that they hardly ever make and grab the big name FA like Boldin. Look how it worked out for them with Plax - prior to his meltdown. We hadn't had that kind of superstar in a very long time.

  9. Dude, I wouldn't give up Plax one for one with Boldin... sorry I'm for strengthening our WR crop by having Plax and Boldin being 1 & 2.

I wouldn't like trading Plax for Boldin either but if the Giants are set on parting ways with Burress, we better get something big for him in a trade and not just release him.

  10. Yeah I'm sorry if this had been posted before, I should probably find that thread so I can read up on it. It kind of irks me cause I thought all Vilma had to do was complete atleast 75% of the snaps. I didn't know there was any other clause in that. Thanks though, bro.

I would rather get their second round pick because if its a first I think we get it for 2010 and not 2009

  11. If Plax doesn't do jail time - you would be crazy to think we would have to give up for more Plax and at most a third for Boldin. The Plax-Boldin deal is basically a wash (and they would be getting rid of a very disgruntled player for one on an even playing field) plus a first day pick. I doubt they would turn that down.

  12. If I'm not mistaken the Giants figured out he will never live up to just before the rest of the league did.. slightly after we traded him. Boldin is a game changer.. in a sense.

I disagree with you on this one. The Giants didn't "see" anything. Shockey pissed and moaned about wanting out of there and forced their hand. I got a lot of shit for mentioning how I saw him at the Atlantis last March (guess that is ridiculously unbelievable for some reason) and he seemed pissed when I mentioned the Giants. Trust me - the Giants didn't see anything. They didn't want a nutcase loudmouth ruining their season (so they caved). If they "saw his demise" they would have originally pulled the trigger on the deal on draft day.

  13. Dude needs some one to handle his money cause he sure as hell can not do it.

Another multi millionaire living life like he's trying to be some sort of street legend thug. The guy was my favorite offensive weapon on the team and if he's had an epihany (sp?) and changed his ways a thousand percent than I'd like him back. If not fuck him - he let down his team and his family sooo much. The guy needs to wake the fuck up. I remember reading his book in the summer and giving him the benefit of the doubt when he said sometimes he likes just listening to some loud music in his house when he gets home late and likes to get away from NJ in the offseason to go to his house in Miami (and basically dismisses his wife's allegations that its like he's trying to live the life of a bachelor) - We're all starting to see the real, self destructive, "I am the world" attitude of his that others close to him have probably seen long before us.

  14. Guys, just because a PLAYER says a whole bunch of stuff about him wanting to be traded, doesn't mean he is available, will soon be available, or will EVER be available.

He is under contract for TWO more years, bottom line. Many teams take a hard line on stuff like this and will not honor the player's request to be traded. The player threatens to hold out, and maybe does for awhile in training camp. Then the fines start racking up day after day and guess what? Do you think he's going to really not play? You think he's just going to sit the year out and lose that $2 mil and not get paid anything? The guy will play, and the team will prove it cannot be strong-armed. Either that or they will eventually work out a deal. Money talks.

If the Cards came back to Boldin tomorrow and offered a contract for $8 to $10 million per year, all would be forgiven, Boldin would talk about how everything is good now with the organization, etc.

Until I hear that the Cards ORGANIZATION are really actively shopping him, then in my view, he's not available one bit, just another player on another team under contract.

Shockey seemed to get his way...

  15. Yeah he has a problem no doubt. I actually feel bad for him more than anything. When your on the sidelines witha strained hamstring in Arizona and Brandon Jacobs is just going crazy with his teammates cheeering them on - Plax has that same grumpy look on his face - that I don't want to be here right now. This coming from the face of a 35 million dollar man. I know he grew up without his father - could have been the start of his having no regard for male authority figures - who knows... But this guys best friend on the team was Jeremy Shockey and Plax couldn't even attend the ticker tape parade after his game winning TD.... I guess I, like most people, don't know what this guys got going through his head. I do know he will be hard to replace though
