  1. What if we got edwards and ocho...that would gaurentee us a spot at the superbowl.

Whats up man. Na I don't want (nor will it ever happen) Chad Johnson. Dude is a headcase. If we get Edwards and a wideout or two in the draft I will be pumped. Im confident Hixon could be a good number 2 with a full season under his belt.

  2. I also would like to see us make a trade with the Bills for James Hardy, should be able to get him pretty cheap. They have TO, Evens and Reed, plus Hardy was hurt last year.

They'll probably keep all the weapons they have in an attempt to develop Edwards quicker.

  3. I've been willing it to happen since Plax got released, I've been telling all my friends who inquire about what we will do now that Plax is gone, I tell them we'll trade for Edwards,.

If you say something enough times, it becomes true.

Ha it did for me with Plax - Even when I heard the Giants PR reps throwing out the "The Giants are no longer interested in Plaxico Burress. He left without a contract" in 2004. Hopefully this deal gets done.

  4. Yeah, but it's MY mind they're fucking with. :shooters:

I have a good feeling about this. I don't know why but I do. Lets hope for the best. It would definitly good - He's only 26 and can only get better.

  5. I hate to break it to you, but the jersey was worthless before this bum got arrested. And, unless he had his gun to your head when you bought it, you have nobody to blame but yourself...

    Jerry Rice indeed.

And who said he was going to jail from the beginning? Who? Thats, right. Badegg.

    :bye: Bye, bye Burress...

ha look who's back... gearing up for a 14th season without a playoff win? I'm sure you have come to terms with it by now.... I mean you must have....

  6. Problems with Nick Saban throughout his career at Michigan State, blowing off two meetings with the steelers prior to being drafted, a laundy list of complaints/minor lawsuits, gun mishap, domestic abuse allegations - never his problem huh? Amazing... 35 million dollar contract and you still have to play the role of tough guy, strapped thug? I'm sorry - I loved Plax for what he did for us in 2007, but the more I hear about his story, the more pissed I get. Turning down a restructed contract that woulda basically paid him the same as his one entering 2008 (29 mil for 4 years rather than 35 for 5 - likely taking into account he wouldn't play in 2009) and this guy has the stones to force the Giants into cutting him. Strolling in to watch Michigan State in the final four saying you felt "great"? . What I would give to have you be the pinata at my little cousin's next birthday.... How bout you reach into your fucking checkbook and cut me a check for the 200 plus dollar ONLY authentic Giants jersey I ever bought that is now worthless. I hate to say it but I hope things get even worse for you because you clearly haven't learned your lesson. Thanks for costing us a repeat championship you piece of shit.

  7. so now that we know burress is gone i thought id ask opinions on what our WR's starters and depthchart will look like next year.

in my opinion its looking more like we arent going to make a trade for someone so i think it will be:

    hixon

    smith

    manningham

    draftpick(nicks,britt,robiskie, or even maybe barden)

    moss

    tyree

if we do end up trading for edwards or boldin i think it will be

    edwards(or maybe boldin)

    smith

    hixon

    manningham

    moss

    tyree

maybe a mid to late round draft pick in there somewhere

    what do yall think?

what a tragedy it is that Moss will be on this team yet again next year because we lost 2 receivers and have a third that is basically a special teamer. I said it before the season - everyone was bragging about how deep we were at wideout. I never saw it and now of course with Plax gone, our roster looks weak as hell at that spot.... anyways....

I say trade both second round picks (and a first from next year) if thats what it takes to land Boldin. Use our first THIS YEAR to draft Kenny Britt or Hakeen Nicks. Then we end up adding 2 wide receivers to our roster while still having picks 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 to work with.

  8. id love to see you back up your "refused to even consider bringing back strahan" comment with some proof

Or Shockey.... everyone who knows this team knows that Shockey bitched his way out of NY. He was demanding a trade.

  9. This has Coughlin's thumbprints all over it

He pushed out Tiki, Toomer, Shockey, and now Burress......also refused to even consider bringing back Strahan when Osi went down

Coughlin has now gotten rid of anyone who had the audacity to speak back to him

He is THE KING........we'll see how the king does now that he has gotten all he asked for.

Bellicheck operates under pretty much the same atmosphere and thrives so we'll see......Bellicheck also has Brady

There is so much BS in this statement I wouldn't even know where to start

  10. upon conviction and fulfillment of his jail sentence, let's say a short of 6 months, then he will be promptly punished by Czar Goddell (a total fucking idiot IMO) and so even if Plax was back for the last half of the season, you expect him to be in shape to play...no, not likely.

I think everyone should factor his age, the trouble he's in, Goddell, and start realizing that #17 will never take the field on our behalf again. He'll be out; he'll be available, but at his age to miss a year, then comeback...I doubt it.

Assuming that he could come back, TC seems very luke warm about him, that's for sure.

We're all assuming that he won't get a full year...a full year is a long time to not be jogging. With the Mayor chiming in, I would anticipate the DA isn't looking to become the most unpopular guy at city hall.

It's a shame, when I think of what Plax did for us in the playoff run to the SB and even in last year's home opener, wow, "I think to myself," wow!

So true. Everyone forgets that game. He was a man possessed on that opening drive.

  11. 80% got probation for felony weapons charges? I call bullshit.

Second, the D.A. is DEMANDING that he do jail time. There is no question about it, Plax is going to jail unless somehow he gets acquitted after taking this to trial, which is not likely to happen.

I heard that at least 40% of people with the charge(s) he's facing did at least 5 months in jail last year. So all this talk about him just getting probation is balogney. He's going to do time, or this is going to trial, or both. I'm balking at the criminal intent statement as well because he knew he didn't have a license for that gun and that carrying in NYC would be illegal. But he did it anyways. That's criminal intent. I don't believe he had any intent to hurt anyone, but the mere fact that he carried a weapon that he knew doing so was illegal is by definition criminal intent.

You bring up some good points BUT his team is never letting this go to trial. There is absolutely no defense they can use for the crime he is charged with. All the side stuff people talk about - his teammates being robbed and a practice squad player shot, his intent, all of that is irrelevant. The second he had that gun in the New York he was breaking the law. In my opinion New York should allow some flexibility in regards to this statute because clearly the increased punishment (minimum sentence from 1 to 3 and a half years) was made in an effort to crub the black market gun trade and the drug dealers and true criminals carrying illegal firearms and using them to rob, kill, etc... Because it does not allow for a case by case review of the surrounding circumstances, Plax will never take this to trial. If he does he will lose - and WILL be sentenced accordingly with a minimum of 3 1/2 years.

  12. I read that 80% of those in his situation just got probation, and perhaps community service (that alone could be a problem for Plaxico)......hes a first offender with no criminal intent (he shot himself)......these are routinely reduced to a lesser offense and no jail time despite Bloombergs campaign

Unfortunately there is no intent requirement read into the statute. His mental state is of no relevance here. And strictly going by the statutes elements, he is f'ed.

  13. 1) Giants | Were in the mix for Haynesworth

    Fri, 27 Feb 2009 12:45:17 -0800

    2) Giants | Door still open for D. Ward to return

    Fri, 27 Feb 2009 12:28:39 -0800

Mike Garafolo, of The Star-Ledger, reports free-agent RB Derrick Ward said the New York Giants are still an option for him to re-sign with. He said they have left the door open for him to return and he knows they would love to have him back. He said right now it is a business decision and he believes he can be a starter in the league.

I doubt we were seriously in the running for Haynesworth. I would be pissed if I was a fan of a team whose owner gave 100 mil to a defenensive lineman. We're talking big time quarterback type money there.

    3) Giants | Will meet with R. Bernard

    Fri, 27 Feb 2009 10:11:55 -0800

Paul Schwartz, of the New York Post, reports the New York Giants will bring in free-agent DT Rocky Bernard (Seahawks) for a visit Friday, Feb. 27. The Giants are looking to add depth to the interior of their defensive line. Bernard would likely fit into a rotation along starters Fred Robbins and Barry Cofield and sub Jay Alford.

I doubt we were seriously in the running for Haynesworth. I would be pissed if I was a fan of a team whose owner gave 100 mil to a defenensive lineman. We're talking big time quarterback type money there. As far as Boley, I am a little skeptical that we are thinking of giving him 5 mil a year when we refused to resign Kawika for less than that. And TJ - I doubt the Giants grab him.
