  1. But he did not carry the ball more than 15 times all season... who's to say that he can or would have the same or more effectiveness if he did? I see your point but I agree with xxi, that Ward's value is really as a complimentary back, and he would fail on another team as a feature back getting 25+ carries per game, even if that team had a comparable offensive line as us.

The greater point is that Ward will not find a very good market out there for his services. You look around the league and can you tell me one single team that doesn't have at least one very good running back? And then after that you have to consider that you have Knowshon Moreno and Beanie Wells coming into the league as well, in addition to the other rookie backs that may have a big impact (a la Chris Johnson in '07), and we haven't even started talking about the RB competition that is also on the free agent market like Fred Taylor, Correll Buckalter, Deuce McAlister, Rudi Johnson, Kevin Jones, Dominic Rhodes, and many more. The market is not good for running backs.

I actually do think he would excel on one team - and that is the team that is likely to grab him (The Denver Broncos)

  2. Wow Peyton's go to guy is gone....sounds like another Manning I know....

Anyways I wonder if they go for a WR in this draft, Wayne moves to number one and that Anthony guy doesnt look like a number two but I'm not going to question the Colts.

where have you been? Wayne's been the number 1 for years now.

  3. Caught his interview on ESPN. I mean comeon Ward - we all know you want your money, but you can atleast pretend that you want to stay on the team and say some politically correct things. He basically shut the door on any possibility of him returning. Like I said, I think Bradshaw can step in and we won't miss a beat, but to see a player we have kept on the roster through a history of injuries kind of saying there's no chance of him staying - I found that to be a little messed up.

  4. It does seem a tad odd. But I guess they figured since he wasn't a flight risk, and the full imprisonment would impact his job, and he showed remorse for what he did that brought up this jail time, plus it was just time in county for a parole violation...well you add it all up I can understand why they did. Still though it is a tad odd.

The Giants won't miss a beat without Ward. Bradshaw is going to explode this season. I doubt he will hit 1,000 yards like Ward, but Ward wouldn't have done it either if it weren't for his game against Carolina and playing the entire game vs. Minnesota. I think Bradshaw will put up 700 rushing and a bunch receiving.

  5. Just because Boldin - a receiver who you could argue outplayed Fitzgerald for most of his career (and this year before his injury) wants out of Arizona - he's a T.O. junior? No I haven't seen him constantly screaming on the sidelines, calling his quarterback gay, calling another quarterback jealous of him and that being the reason why he was traded, getting into fist fights with teammates in the locker room, claiming other teammates are conspiring against him behind his back in their hotel rooms, overdosing on pain killers, holding public workouts while being interviewed in his driveway, being suspended by his own team..... want me to keep going?

Yea thats right - I'm quoting myself - Pay attention fools. If I have to say it a third time I might smack one of you anti-Boldin people.

  6. McDougle - See ya

    Dockery - Keep

Ward - 4 million? Goodluck buddy...

    Toomer - Thanks for everything

Carney - Woulda traded all those made field goals for making them in a big game.

    - I don't know why the Giants were so quick to get rid of Droughns. He was a great special teams players and resigning players like McDougle will be mind boggling over keeping a solid player like Rueben who doesn't cost the team much at all.

  7. Heres my take:

To all of you that say Boldin is overrated - your out of your mind or simply have not watched him enough this year. This guy was putting up 100 yard 1,2,3 touchdown games all season long. In fact, I think he outplayed Fitzgerald for a majority of the season - A fact everyone forgets because Fitz went wild in the playoffs and Boldin missed a few weeks when he broke his face. Dude is a monster, espcially after the catch. The Giants basically shutdown those receivers better than almost any team did this year and I still think they all had like 80 yards or more (including Breaston) - This is all without a running game by the way. Boldin would be worth every penny (and with more draft picks than we have had in ages) why are people against this move?

TJ - Would be solid - wouldn't mind this move

T.O./Chad - There should be a fine for anyone who even mentions their names within 500 yards of Giants stadium

Dansby - I have been saying for weeks he would be a great pickup

  8. It's hard not to be injury prone when you play football the way it's supposed to be played.. no towel tackles and hiding. And with a guy like BJ who hits everyone, his body is bound to take a brusing. I won't hold it against him.

Neither do I. Thats why it is a win win no matter how this season plays out (in regards to the NY Giants-Brandon Jacobs relationship)

  9. I mean, he will be around this season. Next season I dont think he'll want to be.

I think the scenario is win win for us. If he goes wild and scored 15 td's again AND stays healthy - we should be glad to throw him a ton of money because he would clearly be worth it after having 3 great seasons in a row. If he gets hurt and misses 3-5 games again, he will have established that he is injury prone and the market for him will shrink to where we then still have a great chance of keeping him. I don't see the downside to this move at all.
