This kid is gonna be a rock on this team
RandolphScott replied to Iceman_NYG's topic in New York Giants
If anything, we as fans should be fucking RAILING against what Jerry Reese and Marc Ross did to this franchise. Won the Super Bowl when Eli was 31 with a trio of really good receivers and they couldnt re-tool the roster. Ashame. -

So Lauletta is a wasted draft pick? Bro, since when did you become a talent executive? I can watch YouTube highlights at 11:30 PM too! Webb was wayyyyyy to mechanically. Hes a bad version of Kerry Collins -

I am excited to see what Lauletta has. Hes got some escability, is mobile and is accurate. Now if he can drive, we might have a winner! -

Woefully mediocre and you cant coach someone to anticipate anything. -

Webb has at the intangibles you want in a QB except that his footwork is fucking awful and he cant anticipate for shit. You can sort of coach one, cant coach the other. -

What is that based on? Because Webb has a good work ethic? Your basing this on 7 quarters of mediocre preseason games. -

Dak Prescott is a lot of things. Very good QB isnt one of them. Hes the definition of mediocre (cept when playing the Giants) -

Green Bay also lucked into Rodgers. Helped that he sat for 3 full years as the staff broke down his mechanics. -

Id be shocked if any of the QBs taken last year turn out like Peyton Manning. -
That plan blew up in their face when they went to Eli, explained to him that they would only start him to continue his streak and he called bullshit on Mac, Reese and John Mara. Good on him for doing so because that was a half-assed plan. Webb should have been getting practice snaps the second after the Rams put 52 on us at home last season. Mac basically said he needed a mobile QB for his system to work and inserted Geno who played a typical Geno game. When going down to score, he fumbled the ball. 2017 was a shit show on many occasions, Atleast this season no one is going rogue on Shurmur.

Also, dont give me that crap that its the fans fault since 2013. Right after that awful season, they cleaned house on the offensive side of the ball and brought in Big Mac with all of his west coast guys. The results in 2014 and 2015 were the best in Mannings career. In 2015 the guy lead the Giants down the field to score in 5 games and then the defense promptly shat the bed in the last two minutes of all those games. Panthers, Patriots, Saints, Jets, Falcons the defense all failed. Does Eli Manning share some of the blame? Yes, no question. Does he share ALL of the blame? No, he doesnt. This orignization failed him. They got fooled by the 2011 team that had an aging offense and defensive lines that got hot at the right time. Eli Manning played out of his ass that year and pulled a Super Bowl out of it. An absolute organizational failure they failed to realize the offense line was an aging mess. David Wilson and Rueben Randle should NOT have been the first two picks in that draft. The Giants have been chasing one more run with Eli and they re-tooled but just in the places that didnt benefit a pocket passer. Reaching for guys like Pugh, Flowers and Engram doesnt help. Absolute disaster picks especially when guys like Kyle Long and Andrus Peat are pretty good players taken 1 pick and 3 picks after Pugh and Flowers. Reese was years behind in re-tooling this offensive line and that shit should have been done starting in 2009-2010 when the writing was on the wall that those guys were getting older and more injuried.

Fans on this very discussion board went ape shit when the Giants took Ryan Nassib with a 4th round pick, Davis Webb with a 3rd rounder and now Alex Tanney with a 4th rounder. Im honestly not sure what youre talking about. The Giants signed Manning to a 4 year extension after 2014. Which QB would you have selected 19th in 2013 when the Giants picked Pugh? Which QB would you have selected when they drafted OBJ 12th? Its revisionist history.
