Dallas Draft Grade C

Needs Analysis: Dallas will be looking at drafting a right tackle to potentially pair with Tyron Smith, as well as at least one guard. The interior of the line performed miserably for the lion's share of the season. That said, safety has been an absolute black hole for this franchise for the past decade -- and that's no exaggeration. Gerald Sensabaugh is gone, and Will Allen isn't the long-term answer. Returning safety Barry Church, meanwhile, is coming off an Achilles injury. Next in line? Danny McCray, whose big play last year -- maybe his only big play -- was intercepting a pass off a teammate's butt.

Round 1, Pick 31 (31) (From 49ers) Travis Frederick C 6'4" 312 Wisconsin Draft grade 78.7

Pick Analysis: "This is a kid who is a typical Wisconsin offensive lineman. He's tough and takes great angles, but I had a third-round grade on him, and I think it's a little bit of a reach at this point." -- Mike Mayock

Round 2, Pick 15 (47) Gavin Escobar TE 6'6" 254 San Diego St. Draft grade 79.0

Pick Analysis: "Maybe the best ball skills of any of them. This kid's got great ball skills. He's a gifted hands catcher. He will be a great short and intermediate catcher for the Dallas Cowboys." -- Mike Mayock

Round 3, Pick 12 (74) (From Panthers through 49ers) Terrance Williams WR 6'2" 208 Baylor Draft grade 83.6

Pick Analysis: "I like the pick. He's got great size and production. The only concern is build-up speed. I need to see burst speed, but there's something to build here. I like the option he provides for quarterback Tony Romo." -- Mike Mayock

Round 3, Pick 18 (80) J.J. Wilcox FS 6'0" 213 Georgia Southern Draft grade 77.0

Pick Analysis: "I love J.J. Wilcox. The Cowboys needed a safety. He'll compete for the starting job, and ultimately he is a starting safety." -- Mike Mayock

Round 4, Pick 17 (114) B.W. Webb CB 5'10" 184 William & Mary Draft grade 74.0

Pick Analysis: "He's a guy I saw play live this year. I really loved his footwork, quickness and anticipation. At the Senior Bowl, he raised that small-school stigma. He also has value as a return man. If he can tackle consistently over the slot, he's a starting nickel." -- Mike Mayock

Round 5, Pick 18 (151) Joseph Randle RB 6'0" 204 Oklahoma St. Draft grade 80.6

Round 6, Pick 17 (185) DeVonte Holloman OLB 6'1" 243 South Carolina Draft grade 70.5

NYG Draft Grade B

Needs Analysis: You'll notice the mention of both the offensive and defensive lines above. The Giants could use depth in each area, perhaps in the form of a right tackle (which has been rumored for months) and another edge rusher who can spell Justin Tuck ... or at least allow him to move inside occasionally. Given the number of quality defensive tackles in this draft, Big Blue might blow right past DE and instead find a DT to sneak into defensive coordinator Perry Fewell's line rotation. Cornerback is another position at which the Giants are going patchwork crazy. Corey Webster is no great shakes at this point in his career. The thought here is that the Giants have to hit linebacker high -- and perhaps twice -- in this draft.

Round 1, Pick 19 (19) Justin PughOT 6'4" 307 Syracuse Draft grade 73.0

Pick Analysis: "I told you it wasn't sexy, but I love the pick. He can play left tackle. He can play right tackle. He can play left guard. He can play right guard." -- Mike Mayock

Round 2, Pick 17 (49) Johnathan HankinsDT 6'3" 320 Ohio St. Draft grade 83.6

Pick Analysis: "That's a solid pick. More movement kind of guys. What you're getting is a two-down run stopper." -- Mike Mayock

Round 3, Pick 19 (81) Damontre MooreDE 6'4" 250 Texas A&M Draft grade 87.9

Pick Analysis: "I love the Giants were able to get this kind of value. He's way better than the 81st player. The downside is there's a reason why he slipped." -- Mike Mayock

Round 4, Pick 13 (110) (From Chargers through Cardinals) Ryan NassibQB 6'2" 227 Syracuse Draft grade 78.7

Pick Analysis: "I told you I've known this kid since high school. I am so happy for this kid. He's a passionate kid with an edge. He's got some footwork issues, but if you want to talk about a kid with an edge to him who will make his teammates better, this is the kid. He's a tough kid. He lives in the weight room." -- Mike Mayock

Round 5, Pick 19 (152) Cooper TaylorS 6'4" 228 Richmond Draft grade 54.6

Round 7, Pick 19 (225) Eric HermanOG 6'4" 320 Ohio Draft grade 51.0

Round 7, Pick 47 (253) (Compensatory Selection) Michael CoxRB 6'1" 214 Massachusetts Draft grade 50.0

Philly Draft Grade B

Needs Analysis: This being Chip Kelly's baby -- and first pro football draft -- who knows which direction the Eagles will take? What this club needs is a certifiable 3-4 defensive end. Switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 requires unique parts, not too dissimilar from trading a propane-fueled grill for an electric unit. One such part: the large defensive end, the player who can put on enough size to occupy multiple blockers while still getting up the field.

Round 1, Pick 4 (4) Lane Johnson OT 6'6" 303 Oklahoma Draft grade 92.9 Pick

Analysis: "I think he makes a ton of sense -- he's the most athletic offensive tackle in the draft. Chip Kelly's gonna run an up-tempo (offense) and maximize the number of snaps per game. He's gotta have offensive linemen that can run, that are in great shape." -- Mike Mayock

Round 2, Pick 3 (35) Zach Ertz TE 6'5" 249 Stanford Draft grade 82.2

Pick Analysis: "What I'm seeing from Chip Kelly is we're going to start defying this offense. Now we've got a detachable H-back tight end that runs great routes." -- Mike Mayock

Round 3, Pick 5 (67) Bennie Logan DT 6'2" 309 LSU

Draft grade 78.7

Pick Analysis: "Another really solid double. Hard-working playmaker. He's also stout against the run." -- Mike Mayock

Round 4, Pick 1 (98) (From Jaguars) Matt Barkley QB 6'2"

227 USC Draft grade 82.0

Pick Analysis: "He's the best value for the Eagles on the board. It's interesting to me because the spread offense is a little bit of a misconception. You can spread it and throw the football. What does that tell us about the staff and what they think about Nick Foles? Barkley might be the most developed pro-style quarterback built similar to what Foles was going to be. So now I'm really confused." -- Mike Mayock

Round 5, Pick 3 (136) Earl Wolff SS 5'11" 209 N.C. State Draft grade 63.4

Round 7, Pick 6 (212) (From Browns) Joe Kruger DE 6'6" 269 Utah 7Draft grade3.0

Round 7, Pick 12 (218) (From Buccaneers) Jordan Poyer CB 6'0" 191 Oregon St. Draft grade 74.0

Pick Analysis: Poyer, who notched 13 career interceptions at Oregon State, projects as a promising nickel corner prospect.

Round 7, Pick 33 (239) (Compensatory Selection) David King DE 6'5" 286 Oklahoma Draft grade 52.3

Wash Draft Grade B

player-tracker-teams-positions-needed-key.gif

Needs Analysis: While everyone holds their breath regarding the status of Robert Griffin III come September, there are a lot of other concerns throughout the depth chart, starting with the secondary. Washington's back four was behind the eight ball most of last season, although there was some improvement as the year wore on. Besides spending draft picks on both safety and corner, the Redskins will surely be hoping linebacker Brian Orakpo comes back 100 percent. Finding a right tackle to push free-agent acquisition Jeremy Trueblood, meanwhile, would also be a nice move.

Round 2, Pick 19 (51) David Amerson CB 6'1" 205 N.C. State Draft grade 74.4

Pick Analysis: "They're beat up on the back, and this kid's a first-year talent. He's a boom-or-bust candidate." -- Mike Mayock

Round 3, Pick 23 (85) Jordan Reed TE 6'2" 236 Florida Draft grade 80.5

Pick Analysis: The former quarterback might draw some comparisons to fellow Florida product Aaron Hernandez, though he finished his college career with 32 fewer catches and 437 fewer yards.

Round 4, Pick 22 (119) Phillip Thomas SS 6'0" 208 Fresno St. Draft grade 74.1

Pick Analysis: "That is a great pick for the Redskins at this point in the draft. One of the best free safety ball hogs. Heavy production. This kid has an opportunity to come in and start, and I think he will." -- Mike Mayock

Round 5, Pick 21 (154) Chris Thompson RB 5'7" 192 Florida St. Draft grade 52.0

Round 5, Pick 29 (162) (From Patriots) Brandon Jenkins DE 6'2" 251 Florida St. Draft grade 82.9

Pick Analysis: "This is a guy that at this point in the draft is value. Heavy production in the SEC as a pass-rush specialist. When you get in the sub package, this is a guy you can move around a little bit. He can really help you." -- Mike Mayock

Round 6, Pick 23 (191) Bacarri Rambo SS 6'0" 211 Georgia Draft grade 61.4

Round 7, Pick 22 (228) Jawan Jamison RB 5'7" 203 Rutgers Draft grade 71.0

Dallas overdrafted in their first 2 picks with Frederick and Escobar, but did much better after that. I think one of the bigger steals in this entire draft is Joseph Randle that they got in the 5th round.

To me, Philadelphia drafted the best in the division, maybe the best in the NFL. They got studs early in Lane Johnson and Zach Ertz. They got big time value later in the draft, and maybe the future franchise QB in the 4th round in Barkley. They also got two players with ENORMOUS upside and value in Joe Kruger and Jordan Poyer in the 7th round. Those are two potential future difference makers for them.

Washington, despite not having a 1st rounder, had a great draft as well. In Amerson, they got a high risk, high reward player in the 2nd. Amerson is a 4.4 flat guy. He has tools that can make him a very good corner in the NFL.

Jordan Reed is not an inline blocker, but he'll be a good target for them in the pass game, but a meh pick for me in the third. I thought they got great value with their next 3 picks though, in Phillip Thomas, Chris Thompson, and Brandon Jenkins. Jenkins got downgraded because of injury, but he's a real talent. He might have been a first rounder sans any injury. Chris Thompson is a talented RB that didn't get to showcase as much at FSU, because of the impressive depth the 'Noles had at the position. But he's a homerun threat. Thomas can be a starter for them relatively early. The 'Skins got better in this draft.

By the way, probably an innocent mistake, but look at the quote by Mayock on Jenkins... Jenkins did not play in the SEC. He's an ACC player from the Seminoles. Nobody's perfect.
