Giants, Brown (fourth round) agree to terms

Updated: 6:58 p.m.

Five down, four to go.

Running back Andre Brown, the Giants’ fourth-round draft choice (129th overall out of N.C. State), agreed to terms earlier today on a four-year contract. That came one day after the Giants announced the signings of their third-round pick (WR Ramses Barden) and their fifth-round pick (QB Rhett Bomar).

They now have five of their nine draft picks under contract with a little more than five weeks to go before the start of training camp.

When Brown officially signs his deal, the Giants must cut one player from their roster.

The terms of Brown’s deal were not immediately available. Barden, according to an NFL source, got a four-year deal worth approximately $2.5 million. Bomar got a four-year deal worth approximately $2 million. Brown’s deal likely comes in right at the mid-point ($2.25 million), but according to a source it includes some “real” incentives which he believes he has a chance to hit that could substantially increase the value of the deal.

The Giants still have not agreed to terms with WR Hakeem Nicks (first round), LB Clint Sintim (second), LT William Beatty (second), and TE Travis Beckum (third).

Update: According to a league source, Brown’s deal is worth approximately $2.2 million, including a signing bonus of about $430,000. It also includes about $500,000 in what a source called “reachable incentives” and other incentives and escalators that could push the total package to around $4 million.

I am so out of it, I thought it said Giants and Browns agree to deal. Thought it was something to do with us getting Braylon Edwards for a fourth rounder!

Blame it on the Juice?

I think this kid will replace most if not all of Ward's 41 receptions and 394 receiving yards.

Brown will be the quiet x-factor in our receiving game

im very high on brown as well.
