FERNANDO OUT: Oft-injured top prospect Fernando Martinez has been diagnosed with a strained right elbow. He will be inactive for three weeks, then begin a throwing program. Martinez, 20, had a pinch-hit two-run homer Tuesday in the Caribbean Series. He's likely to begin the season at Triple-A Buffalo. ... The Mets signed Mexican League veteran P Heriberto Ruelas to a minor-league contract

I saw this, Tommy John's surgery?

I know his talent is supposed to be other worldy but I really want to get something for him while we can. Too man red flags with injuries.

Just remember everyone said that Jose Reyes would never play a full season and he would be injured all the time. I think we need to give him a chance. It's a strained elbow. It's not like he's done for the season. He will probably end up getting ABs in the second half of Spring Training.

Seems to be a set back for a guy that some have said will add a jolt to this team down the stretch..........

Replace with "could". There is a difference. He is a great talent. We're not talking Tommy John yet, so patience here... it's only February.
