mickeef2
...is a bitch. Don't know what is going on, but it all seemed to start with Coco's bad slide into Iwamura last night. That was not the right play. If you feel like the SS wronged you by blocking the bag with his knee, then say to your pitcher, "Did you see what that guy did?" (especially if it's a guy like Beckett on the mound). It's then up to him whether to get your back or not. But to go at a guy's knee like that, especially the guy who didn't do it, is just wrong. So now tonight, Coco gets hit, there's brawl, he gets thrown out, and Ellsbury, who wouldn't even have been in center, hurts his wrist making a diving catch. Now Manny and Youk just went at it in the dugout. Bizarre.
Ditto
What's a bitch is Manny bitch slapping Youkilis for bitchin'. The Boston Zoo. I'm glad to see a lot of suspensions come down. The Yankees need all the help they can get this year. It was kind of dumb having Lester throw at a batter for his suspension, though. That duty is usually relegated for an ineffective reliever. Well, I'm sure no matter what happened in the brawl, in the end Bob Watson will end up taking care of the Yankees, as he usually does, by not reducing the suspensions of any Red Sox players. LorfTVP
I'm glad that all the Tampa Bay players got their due but I don't understand why Sean Casey was suspended for three games. I'm doin' this from memory but... Jon Lester - 5 games for intentionally throwing at the batter (curveball) Coco Crisp - 7 games for charging the mound Sean Casey - 3 games Akinori Iwamura - 2 or 3 games for being an idiot and trying to get revenge James Shields - 6 games for intentionally throwing at Crisp on the first pitch of his first AB Carl Crawford - 3 or 4 games is my guess for running in from center field and walloping Crisp Jonny Gomes - 5 games even though he deserved much more for what he did Edwin Jackson - 5 games but I didn't pick up what he did while watching the footage over and over again. All those Boston haters (and I've heard from a lot) are throwing shit at Coco but I'm pretty sure that the beatdown by the Tampa Bay Rays is a lot more deplorable. Once they got him to the ground, it should have been over, but the Rays were clearly looking for revenge.

I agree that many of the Rays, especially Gomes, are punks for hitting a guy when his arms are pinned and he's falling to the ground. Coco's play was not the right play in that situation, though. You can't try to end a guy's career because his teammate made a bad play, which was probably out of inexperience more than anything else.
