Former Redskins and Giants linebacker LaVar Arrington has been seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash in the Washington D.C. area, WTOP Radio is reporting.

WTOP has been told by Prince George's County Fire that Arrington is in serious condition after a crash near Route 50 and the Capital Beltway. Arrington has reportedly been taken to Prince George's Hospital Center.

Arrington was the second overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Redskins. After six seasons in Washington, Arrington played for the Giants in 2006. Arrington was a free agent after being cut by the Giants after suffering a season-ending foot injury.

Anybody think getting rid of him was a bad idea now? ESPN just reported he's suffered a broken bone in his arm, three broken bones in his leg, cuts and bruises.

Even if we still had him, he wouldn't be playing this year.

Um if we still had him would he have been cruising around DC on a motorcycle or up in the area training? You can't change a single thing a couple months back and expect everything to play out as it has historically. That is the kind of logic that has the Giants getting Merriman.

Cutting him this year had ZERO to do with this accident. How can anybody justify or say "If we would have kept him Arrington woulda been out for us anyway":confused:

Like Jerry Reese saw the future and said "Let's cut this guy because he'll be reckless and hurt himself on a motorcycle"....

You are right, he wouldn't have been on his bike. I didn't even think of that. I forgot that their are mini camps going on. I still think it's for the best that he's not here anymore. He's a great player when he's healthy, but he's never healthy.
