  1. Now Tyree got it back sunshine - China Doll Carter will be history, and Tyree the 3rd receiver, unless the Giants draft or sign someone new.

What's it say about Tyree as a WR that he lost his job to a guy who caught 10 balls all year and stunk it up in key situations?

Don't get me wrong, I love Tyree, but he isn't a WR.

  2. all this nonsense signing a big name WR is ridiculous when in reality all we need is a legit #3...David Tyree should win this job by default...he is reliable, hard working, and has very good hands...all the other WR's on our roster can be purged, and replaced with undrafted FA and or rookies...

Hey moron, Tyree lost the job in camp last year to Tim Carter.

  3. Walker will be an unrestricted free agent after this season - they get something for him now or lose him for nothing. Sitiing out this whole year might be the best thing he could do for his knee. The Packers are going to suck for years and are now just starting a rebuild job - they should dump all their veterans for draft choices, especially those they KNOW they are going to lose in a year or so. Daunte Culpepper went for a 2nd round draft choice - a 4th round would do it for Walker.

Now you are right that some teams might offer a third round choice - I would offer that as a last resort, but not any higher.

Brandon Lloyd went for a 3rd and 4th. What's your point?

  4. Jeremy Shockey came to cam p and SAID he was in sape and got hurt again. He has been hurt every year as a Giant. He always has 4 or 5 great games, rr 4 or 5 bad ones, and the rest he is hurt. Once again this malcontent is refusing to join the rest of the team in the off season workouts and has found another malcontent in Plaxico - the two receivers that disappear the last half of the season and quit in the middle of the playoff game. Time for them to decide if they are part of the Giants or not.

Kareem McKenzie got hurt last year and I believed he trained with the Giants. So did Pierce, Torbor, Williams, Peterson, and Emmons. What's your point?

BTW, they don't do catching or passing drills at these things.

I'm in the process of dropping Timlin for Jeremy Bonderman. Timlin holds little value in this league because Foulke will get the saves. I might trade away Foulke as well, as I have a lot of Boston players and I try not to load up on players from 1 team.

    Whats everyone think?

  6. Look that may be a bit harsh but this us and them can only hurt the team.Anyone who doesn't think so is avoiding the obvious. What they are doing is very selfish and not team oriented. Some kind of strong message needs to be levied.

I might agree with you if they were being bums. Jeremy Shockey came into camp last year IN THE BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE. Did you see his arms? Once again, BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE.

Burress trained at the U and put up some of the best numbers of his career.

William Joseph did and won a starting spot.

Okay, fine, it hurts team chemistry. But ya know what, if guys are that committed to getting better, go ahead and train in Miami. It surely helped them.

  7. Arrington was the highest paid linebacker in the NFL in 2005 and didn't even start, not because the coaches didn't like him, but becuase he wasn't good enough. The Giants also said Barrett Green and Carlos Emmons would be halthy when they signed those two to free agent contracts...........they were wrong.

Read any news? It's been made clear that Synder did not like Arrington during his stay in Washington.

  8. The Eagles signed Darren Howard, a defensive End in the Dwight Freeney mold - he was the Saints Franchise Tag player in 2005. The rest of their problems were injury related. They still need a WR, but that is about it. The Giants got to play a injury riddled Eagle team in 2005 - that won't be the case in 2006. When healthy, McNabb has owned the Giants.

And that defense is still a year older. They lost one of the best WRs in the game and they're now better? I understand T.O. was a cancer, but you cannot say he wasn't a difference maker on the field.

  9. Arrington didn't start in 8 games in 2005 and only played in 4 games in 2004. Even when he was healthy last year he didn't play on every down as he is a disaster in pass coverage. Washington didn't even consider him a starter when the other linebackers were healthy. In fact he is worse than Barrett Green in both injury situation and ability - at least Green can play pass defense. Demps is a lifetime backup that had a partially torn ACL in November - no wonder Ozzie Newsome let him go.

Arrington was hurt in 2004 and was in the doghouse in 2005 because Synder and Williams didn't lik him. He made some big plays late in the year.

Demps is a lifetime backup? Is that why he's a starter? Plus, I think the Giants looked at his ACL when they considered him. If it didn't check out, they probably wouldn't have signed him.

  10. Where are you getting this inforamtion ?? This guy has a nose for the ball carrier as he usually has a good number of solo tackles. He's been hurt but at this point we need any help we can get.

Doesn't exactly say they'll sign him, but I like our chances.

He's a big run stuffer who requires bodies to block him.

    Little scouting report....

Grade 70 Expert's Take Jackson has a combination of massive size, strength and power. He was used primarily as a run stopper on first and second down. He fills up the A-gap and has no problem occupying two blockers. He has only tackle-to-tackle range and does not run well enough to be a factor on outside runs. He does not have an explosive take-off but controls the line of scrimmage with his upper-body strength and size. He is more powerful than he is explosive. He gets excellent penetration. He has above-average foot quickness and is hard to knock off the ball. Although he does not play with good leverage, he does a good job on double-team and scoop blocks and keeping the blockers from getting to the linebackers. Offensive linemen have a difficult time sustaining blocks on him. However, he is top heavy, can be easily cut and does not have good change-of-direction skills. As a pass rusher, he does not have any pass-rush moves except a bull rush. He has the ability to collapse the pocket with good leg drive, but he's usually double teamed and will get stuck at the line of scrimmage. He does not have great endurance, will take plays off and will wear down over the course of the game. Overall, Jackson is a player who is one-dimensional and lacks ideal athletic ability. He is getting up in age and is clearly on the downhill side of his career. He does not have a lot gas left in his tank and his weight will always be a problem. He is a short-term fit and you wonder how long he will continue playing. His age and durability are concerns.

  11. Dallas lost Flozell Adams (LT) and had youngsters on the defense that are now seasoned. The Eagles lost what seemed to be their entire team to the injury list, including McNabb - plus TO's mental meltdown. The Redskins started out awful, but were humming on offense at season's end. It is a different NFC East in 2006, and one that the Giants will be treading water in unless there are some major improvements in play on offense and personnel on defense. The Giants might have the weakest defense in the NFC East, and finished 2005 with a questionable offense.

So Eli Manning, a youngster, won't improve? Guys like Webster, Torbor, Wilson and Butler won't improve? Giants lost their entire LB crew and Peterson for almost the entire year.

Lockhart, you bring up a decent arguement, but give no credit to any Giants players ever. While EA could have done better in FA (I don't think he did an awful job like you do, but it could have been better), I think the Giants are in good shape for next season.

Honestly, how did the Eagles really improve? Another year older on defense and no T.O. Westbrook might never be the same.

Redskins will again have no depth. What depth do they have anywhere? How many draft picks do they have? Plus, an aging Brunell behind that line, which I feel is suspect, might get hammered before he can get the ball to ARE, Lloyd and Moss.

Cowboys might be the most improved with the addition of T.O. and Fabini. But I think their line is still suspect. However, their defense will be very good.

  12. Didn't Tiki work on his fumbling problems pre TC? A coach can make all the difference to a player, even just by showing confidence in them. But Saban knows defense, he may not make Allen an INT machine, but Allen will be a very good player for Miami.

How can Saban work on Allen catching the ball? You think TC said "It's fine Will, don't worry about catching the ball?"

  13. If Nick Saban wants Will Allen, then the Giants made the biggest mistake of their life-time. Maybe Saban knows how to fix the hands of Will Allen, similar to what Coughlin did with Tiki Barber.

It's time for a new defensive coachings staff.

Considering Allen worked on catching the ball during his offseason training and it still did nothing, I wonder what difference Saban could make.
