  1. Shiancoe is a QB?

And what's with Simms that makes him so good?

Chris Simms progress is going slower than Eli's. It's a FACT that Chris Simms had problems (at first) grasping the Pro Offensive sets. And when Shiancoe was drafted...Simms' stock wasn't that great. Simms didn't lite it up at Texas in his last few games there....so I can see them passing on Simms. And Shaun Alexander or Dayne....Dayne had a slightly better college carreer than Shaun and Dayne won the Heisman....so I can see why Dayne was chosen. But like I said before...IF we would have chosen Shaun, maybe the GREATEST Giants RB named Barber would have never gotten a chance to shine on the Giants.

  2. It's sad - beginning to look like the Arizona Cardinal board as fans have to dream of success.

Well the Giants have a history of some success. And a history of some of the GREATEST players to grace the gridiron. The Arizona Cardinals have never even 'sniffed' a Superbowl, I can count on ONE hand the times they made the playoffs and they have no one that stands out in my mind as great (or was great) in their existance.

So I say: Arizona, keep dreaming

Giants fans 'dreams' are WAY closer to reality than a Cardinal dream.

  3. Carter has been used to stretch the field, mostly unsuccessful. However, Carter has come up with some big catches, and I would hardly call the end-arounds intended for Carter unsuccessful.

    ...ok!

    # 84 Tim Carter

    RUSHING

Year Team G GS Att Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ FD

    2002 New York Giants 5 0 3 28 9.3 13 0 0 1

    2003 New York Giants 12 2 0 0 --- 0 0 0 0

    2004 New York Giants 5 0 2 23 11.5 15 0 0 1

    2005 New York Giants 15 1 6 46 7.7 22 0 1 2

    TOTAL 37 3 11 97 8.8 22 0 1 4

    4yr career...37 games, 11 attempts for 97 yds. I was wrong...he's a major sucess as a rusher.

  4. Considering how much the Giants are paying him I don't really have a problem - he also work the hot dog sales when he's not active! Last season the Giants made a mistake of putting Willie Jo on that duty while he was injured, resulting in a loss of net income for food sales during Willie Jo's stint on the inactive list.

    hahahahaha!!! Y'all are funny!

  5. The giants ran a reverse EVERY play that carter and tyree were on the field?? Wow, didnt know that. If defenses are primarily concerned with Carter and Tyree getting off a big reverse then Tiki is going to run for 2000 yards this year between the tackles and Shockey, Plax and Toomer will all get single coverage and tear secondaries up. So im not nearly as concerned about teams keying on our #3 WR's running reverses as you are, but maybe I should be.... i dunno.

Naa.. YOU said that. But to clear up any misunderstandings....LOTS of times there were too many reverses called for those doods. And AGAIN, I'd like to see Tim used to stretch the field, since he's such a 'burner' at a cheap rate.

  6. When I think about end arounds, I think about the foolish decision to have Tyree run it instead of Carter in the Chargers game. He had so much room and he botched the handoff from Eli where he could've run so far. I have faith that if we had Carter in that play he was off to the races and would've held on to the ball.

...and when I see the Giants send Carter or Tyree on the field, you KNOW it's gonna be a WR reverse coming up next. Way too predictable. Let's see them actually USE Carter for some fly patterns?

  7. We also had a lot of drops this past season especially between Shockey and Burress. Remember that end zone pass Eli threw to Tim Carter? Absolutely perfect and Carter dropped it.

Well you can always put the 'shoe' on the other foot. What about ALL those passes Toomer caught that seemed uncatchable? Toomer made some incredible catches last yr. And the tipped TD to Toomer was a bailout catch for Eli.

The low catch Toomer had vs. KC, where his knee was half an inch off the ground. Would Tim Carter catch a low pass like that???

Eli is in a system where he does not throw the short pass. It's either a medium pass or a bomb.

  8. Do other MB's and fanbases have this type of idiot crew? I've just never heard so much ill-conceived nonsense.

Thank goodness for the good posters, they balance out this type of silliness. Moreover, I can't believe the consistency of one person posting as four separate people and doing it so consistently.

My hats off, you have a lot of time on your hands and none of it is spent learning about football despite your repeated posts on the subject. Kudos, your community college schedule must afford you great access to posting on the Internet.

Just think: If these 'four' wasn't posting here....this Giants talk forum would be empty.

  9. What I find very funny is that all three division foes have long passed us and we sit here debating what TO will do when he scores his first TD.

Rome continues to burn and Ernie keeps sleeping.

    Pathetic.

Last time I checked...The Cowboys haven't won shit lately, Redskins either...no the Eagles won a few divisions but T.O. didn't get them that Superbowl. So ALL of the NFC East teams are pretty much equal.

  10. I just want to see what the Philly fans do to him when he comes to the Linc. He'll be fine there. Maybe an outburst or too during the game but I doubt there will be any off the field occurrences.

First away game vs the Eagles at the Linc. Terrell scores a T.D., his celebration would be him doing that stupid bird flappin' dance....then he pulls out a invisible shotgun and shoots down an imaginary bird...T.O. fined 10G.

  11. If you asked Eli, he would say that Kurt helped him out a lot. Eli has even said that. He said that he personally thanked Kurt for everything he did to help Eli while he was benched after he was let go by us.

Eli is the total opposite of Kurt Warner. Eli has a quicker release...Eli is much more mobile...and Eli has a better arm (beleive it or not). I'm not saying Kurt wasn't a great supporter of Eli but as far as 'helping' him??? I don't think so. Warner had habits that NO rookie QB should adapt. Eli's coaches helped Eli...and Eli has gotten valuable experience by being in the GAME! Not by listening and watching Warner.

IMO, this whole 'veteran QB mentoring' thing is way overrated!

  12. Alexander runs left 75% of the time because of LT Walter Jones and LG Steve Hutchison you nimrod. If those two were the left side of the Giants line, Tiki would be running to the left side 75% of the time.

I disagree....some RB's can only run a certain style. Eddie George wasn't fast. Ron Dayne ran too soft for the Giants (but fits well in a Denver system).

If Tiki played for the Seahawks he'd get the same production as he did on the Giants. Whereas if Shawn played for the Giants, he'd "prolly" be an average RB who runs left!!!!

...Tiki is the GREATEST RB the Giants ever had and Shawn and Tiki could NEVER co-exist on the same team.

  13. That was s disaster - throwing moeny at Sehorn was more than stupid - that ranks right there with the Ron Dayne choice, bypassing Shaun Alexander.

I for one don't think that IF we had Shawn A...he'd be succesful in a Giant offense. I mean Shawn runs LEFT like 75% of the time...not as elusive as Tiki. Tiki makes holes out of nothing AND he can run left, middle and right very well. Plus HIM and Shawn on the same team???? Possibly would have traded the BEST RB in Giants history named Tiki.

  14. It may be too late but I think Harrington would be the best fit there, especially learning under Kurt Warner, who did help Eli.

The ONLY thing Kurt did to 'help Eli' was to: A - Hold on to the rock too long. B - Not get the ball downfield.

and C - Land himself on the bench to allow Eli to start.

The ONLY thing Warner portrayed was a good sport about the whole thing. IMO of course.

  15. Hard to say: The Bears led the league in 3 and out (for a playoff team) and IF the Giants put together a short passing attack featuring Tiki as a reciever, the Bears would get beat. No doubt in my mind the short passing attack would set up Plax long...and if we'd scored first, Bears are done!

Last year, the Giants were a slightly better team (before all of our injuries).

  16. ...great numbers. It did wonders for the eagles.I'm not denying his talent, but unless you've been living in a cave, you know that this jerk needs to put his ego in check, being that this is a team sport and all.......

This is the new NFL....each star is his own franchise. T.O. just has 'it' worse than let's say Mike Vick, Ray Lewis, etc..

All of those guys I've mentioned put themselves FIRST before any team effort. It's just that Terrell is out of control with it.
