Little early to be evaluating last year's draft, don't ya think?
no...I don't think but...let's look at THIS draft by the Giants (and tell me what u think?)
Round Pick Overall Name Position School
2 11 40 Michael Strahan DE Texas Southern
3 10 66 Marcus Buckley LB Texas A&M
4 9 93 Greg Bishop OT Pacific
5 11 123 Tommy Thigpen LB North Carolina
6 10 150 Scott Davis OG Iowa
7 9 177 Todd Perterson K Georgia
7 11 207 Jessie Armstead LB Miami
Can U believe that Armstead was a 7th rounder???

Starting with last years:
Round Pick Overall Name Position School
2 11 43 Corey Webster CB LSU
3 10 74 Justin Tuck DE Notre Dame
4 9 110 Brandon Jacobs RB Southern Illinois
6 12 186 Eric Moore DE Florida State
Pretty good considering so few picks. Webster, Jacobs filled needs and Tuck can be servicable sooner than later. IMO

I hope we can get Brevin Knight from Charrolete.
He's on top of the league in assists year after year.
He could be a good fit, i believe he is a free agent
The knicks should release francis and try to trade marbury to a team like memphis for a first rounder. I beleive memphis would accept because they don't have any true scorers on the perimeter that can break a D down.
Yes, Stephon Marbury/Francis for Pau Gasol. Git 'er dunn Front Office!

This guy has some real heart.
He is one of the only players to significantly change his game to larry brown's style. He's taking better shots and playing better defense. And is turning into one of the great clutch players
He better be here next year.
Your boy Isiah will trade him for some washed up veteran and then overpay that Vet.
But u are correct, Jamal is clutch.

Not bad - whether you think it's Plaxico or Eli - maybe both - the stats are horrible.
Part 2: Amongst your 113 posts on the SAME subject...in order to get ELI/PLAX to have better 'catch and throw' or 'thrown to/completions' stats. Plax and Eli should work together more often huh?
NFL Network said this and so did ESPN. They broke Peyton Manning down and Eli Manning down. Both are very similar at the line of scrimmage BUT Eli's passes weren't that sharp in the RED zone nor on 3rd down situations. Accuracy was a problem late in the season for Eli. When and IF SHockey/Plax/Eli work on these things the Giants can have plenty of success. NFL Network said this...namely Steve Mariucci.
-
I'll try to sum it up. Lockey's point (I think) is that Manning's passes to Plax were way off half the time...and Plax isn't a WR that can catch very well. A La Harrison, Fitzgerald, or even Mushin Muhamaad. To sum it up Lock thinks Eli sucks and so does Plax.
END of STORY (I hope).
-
Plaxico was even behind Mushin Muhammad who had Kyle Orton throwing to him for 8 games.
Fitzgerald and Boldin of the Cards. Where do they rank? Warner throws to them huh?

Pizza tastes good...
Sounds good. I could go for some Papa John's Pizza. (Mind u, I live in Cali).
Had one of these once!!! ewwwwww!!!!

The title w/o question marks implies that he has or is about to sign. Seeing that there is nothing but rumors about it the title must have a question mark because its not factual.
IF the Giants sign Lavar Arrington....I'll eat my Giants hat with salt on it. That's my WORD! And my Word is BOND!

What do you mean it doesnt matter? You think James wanted to lose, so he passed. he set up the easiest shot, i'd take a wide open 3 over quadruple teamed any day to win a game. If you're going to make an idiot of yourself, at least know what you're talking about.
Lebron struggled the whole game i can guarantee he wouldn't have scored. And even if he does get fouled, he's a horrific free-throw shooter. He would've missed at least one.
Guaranteed??? Whoa! Anyway, Lebron would have went up strong and IT was likely that one of the 'quadrupled' team Knicks would have fouled him. Plus I said AND ONE meaning Lebron SCORED and hit the winning free throw.
But let's not justify these 'new' Knicks. They couldn't hold a candle to the 90's Knicks. Nor the Knick teams that were coached by Pat Riley.
Your 'new' Knicks are quitters made up of at least 4 CBA type players.
-
You didn't watch that game did you? Qyntel Woods played great defense on him the whole game. He forced him to have about 3 straight airballs in the first. And him and francis blocked his shot continuously. The reason he hit those 4 straight 3's in the 4th was becauase brown put david lee against him and he wasn't fast enough to get over the screen.
And that was a great play by james passing it out. He was wide open, i'm sure he'd make the same exact play if the opening was there, i thought that shot was goin in nd so did everyone else who watched that.
Plus,"YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME"
James would've have only tied it if he scored. But Woods was harrassing him the whole game.
Next time, watch the game.
Doesn't matter ...I'm Lebron James, I'm taking that shot. Or I'm getting the call from the ref. Lebron lays it off glass AND ONE...Game over for those slobs called the Knicks.
(P.S. I stopped being a Knick fan when they did Patrick Ewing greasy.)

Yes and No
I like Eli but hate the back ups
Yes or No
Running backs Yes or No
Yes.
Like the RB's. Tiki (no explanation needed), Brandon will improve...but I'd like to see them get a RB via the draft to replace Tiki next year or so.
-
But yeah, if you're going to reply to one of my threads, I'd really appreciate if you kept on topic.
Let's play a 'yes/no' game by position. You can throw in 'why' u feel that way If you'd like.
Position : All three QB's for the Giants. Do you like them? Yes or No??
-
Lebron gave the Knicks that game. Failure to take the last shot??? What is that?
-
I only asked this question to see how people felt about bringing Mcnair in here ONLY as a back up and IF no other team was interested in him. IF he asks for 9 mill we would say no vet min plus you are #2 Qbif you dont like those conditions then consider your career DONE thats it point blank .
but now it seems as of he will be a Raven anyway so it dosent matter I myself would like to see him here at #2 for vet min
Mcnair career isn't over, so him being a #2 wouldn't mix well here in NYC/NJ....capeesh?

Clearly the Giants Front Office and coaching staff are growing tired of Shockey's attitude and lack of effort. Bring in some competition to wake the dude up. He is not indispensable.
You forgot to add the fact that Shanicoe is such a bust, we needed a no.2 TE. Shanicoe shouldn't have NEVER been drafted by the Giants...Chris Simms was there waiting on us.
-
Guys, do you know the topic of the thread?! Lavar!
....or EA, could u sign us a DT???
-
The problem with Shaun is that he can't cover, yet he was used to cover several times. He is a run stopper. I suspect that Carolina will have him as possibly the third safety, the nickel LB along with Dan Morgan, and on special teams.
I said that three posts ago. :brooding:
-
Yeah, hopefully that safety phenom of the future will have the last name Williams
I had a #17 jersey YEARS ago with 'Brown' on the back....I removed the lettering and put my own last name back there, simple.
-
My #36 jersey has been officially retired.
Bring it back out when the Giants draft another Safety phenom in the future. #36 will be worn again.
-
check out ESPN rumor central .... now reporting on Giants and Arrington
Yup, It's there....
-
Uhh. . .because he is better than all three??
Ding, ding! We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen!
Mcnair would come to the Giants and be a #2??? You're bugging out again. Plus Mcnair would command more money than BOTH Giants backups put together. Ever heard of salary caps?
-
Giants GOT three QB's...why would they need Mcnair?
-
I thought he went to the Panthers?
Yep...he'll probably see some Dime package action and special teams. As a Giant Shaun Williams sucked. Couldn't cover worth a daam and the 'big hitter' tag eluded him being that he was so fragile.
Your opinions on Giants draft picks from the past....

And Bishop played a little then too...he was okay.
