  1. What was your most memorable Mets game of 2005?

I personally think it was the Mets vs. Angels. That was some crazy game, the Mets coming from behind, Andersons Pinch hit inside the park homerun, extra innings Floyd takes time gets himself to a full count and blasts one and the apple rises. The Mets win, the Mets win!

Same exact game for me. Oh shit I'm getting goose bumps as I type. Very rarely am I into a Mets game and we were playing average ball at the time. I remember Floyd hit two previous pitches into the mid deck three feet foul and I remember saying to myself, next pitch, it's over. Surprisingly, he had enoguh patience to look at a ball while I turned off the tv. Saw it was a ball, turned it back on and watched as he blasted one to send me jumping up and down around the house causing all my family members to wake up. We lost the next day though maybe a little more then 12 hours after the game.

There are other games that come to mind like our first win of the season (that I didn't even watch) and the home opener but nothing compared to that game IMO.

  2. he better catch that pass he was wide open from what I remember. I think he played well, but his head got out of the game still too often at times and I think they will decrease as he ages. IMO the TD catch at home against the Eagles(on a day they did everything they could do to take him out of the game)was the point I felt he had turned a corner. He had 1 catch all day and it was a huge one and helped his team win despite the lack of production.

Yeah, he couldn't have gotten more open. It is obvious that he is maturing properly, just a little later then we wanted him too but still is.

Even though that was a first down, the TD against the Eagles, I see where you are coming from there. Also, the two point conversion catch against the Seahawks was clutch too.

  3. Too late to decide that now. I was looking back at the season and I think Shockey's turning point for the most part with his drops was against the Broncos, the one that setup our big TD pass to Toomer. That right there was a clutch catch, one that seemed to always get away from Shockey.

  4. Yankee Stadium last year in June.

That's what I thought. And it turns out I almost went to the game the day after, the one where Looper fucked up once again and we lost at like 11:30. Thank god I didn't go to that one.

  5. I assume you watched sportscenter this morning then? Gammons was talking about young guys who just got called up were expected to make an immediate impact. Hermida was one of them. If I were you, I would keep Coco. You'd be surprised what he can do at Fenway with guys like Loretta (lorf, clarify this for me?), Ortiz and Manny behind him. Bound to put up fantasy numbers.

I think one of your three bench guys are going to come out on fire. Maybe Jacobs. If so, trade as soon as possible. We know as Mets fans that he started out hot, got cold then got hot again.

  6. Just to clarify why it was a mistake...

I said that any trade made had to a.) be approved by a committee consisting of myself and 2 others, and b.) comply with Draft Value Chart.

The result? I had a bunch of snot-nosed teen-agers like MichiganFan sending me a thousand PMs and IMs each day with trade ideas, proposals, questions. Then, people bitched about the trades that were approved, while others took it personally when their trade proposals were denied. It just is not worth it...

Well, we are probably a more mature group then posters such as MF but I see where you're coming from.

  7. I'll take Carter back but I hope he doesn't play hard to get and keep asking for more money which he really hasn't shown that he deserves. I'll welcome him back but I think we can do better at third WR spot. Possibly get a possession WR in FA and then use Carter to spread the field.

  8. If you don't mind, I'll throw in my two cents in here too. Once again, you have a team based on potential. Guys like Cano, Beltran, Hermida, Crisp, etc. I like those guys.

Out of the pitchers that are on the block, go for Bonderman. He's young, I think he's a lefty, and he's talented. It is obvious that you need pitching and you do have nice players to offer. What I usually do is do a little research and see where a guy is bad at. Like for you since you have Hillenbrand on the bench, scroll around and see if someone needs a guy at either position, maybe extend the deal a bit and get some very nice players.

  9. Eli does not need a Randle EL, but more of a Proehl type 3rd WR, a guy who on 3rd and 7 will run 8 yards, run a good, crisp route, catch the ball at the marker, fall down and keep a drive alive with sure hands. Our 3rd WR was non-existent in 05 and thats a position of need IMO. Not a superstar, but a guy with good hands and discipline in terms of his routes.

We do need that guy but we also need the burner. We all know Eli has a great long ball when he is on, he even showed that in his rookie year with multiple bombs against the Eagles, a nice throw against the Steelers that when healthy, Toomer would've caught, and more. But with separation, it can make it even better. Now, I think Plax does have that type of speed but it is up to him whether he wants to utilize it properly or not.

  10. Right now we can prove the quote that states in order to be the best, we have to beat the best. I want to say we'll definitely win the Saints, Texans, and Titans games for sure but, well the past speaks for itself. I think we can take Seattle on the road again if we stay healthy, and Carolina should be a fun matchup. A win there would maybe Eli feel better after this post-season's disaster.

I just can't wait for the Colts Giants game. I know it's going to be prime time, schedule makers would be stupid not to do that. The question is when. If it's week 16 or week 17 I seriously may consider skipping my vacation to watch that game (yes im insane).

Some teams are going to improve, some teams are going to get worse and some teams are going to be the same. If we get double digit wins, we have earned it looking at the schedule now. But of course, half these teams we say will be super bowl contenders could fall apart like the eagles did.
