  1. I am trying to stream games from my PC (Dell Inspiron 5150 6 years old) to my TV (Samsung LN630).

I have it connected with a VGA cable. I am able to display the desktop background and itunes background from the PC to the TV completely.

However, today I wanted stream a hockey game from my PC to my TV, in part as a dry run for the football game tomorrow afternoon.

I am able to, yet even though I have the game in full screen mode on my PC...it only takes up 30% or thereabouts on my TV.

I wanted to know if any of you have this problem, and what I can do so the streaming game takes up the full screen of my TV like it does on the PC.

I don't understand because when I close the game and go to the desktop background, or itunes, it shows up on the TV in full screen.

    I have Windows XP.

  2. AP has never lost being a smart leader, but he is not the same player he was when he first came to the Giants.

In 2005 he was a pro bowl caliber player, then he got injured.

In 2006, it was my feeling he was so-so.

In 2007 he was better, but I did not get he was on the level of '04 and '05.

In 2008 he was again pretty good until the end.

This season, he was average and declining in terms of skill.

My question, how would rate APs years with the Giants?

Was 2005 his best season, did he ever come close to that form or was he just alright from then on, with his best asset being his brains?

Was he a solid player in 06-08?

    How was he this season?

  3. I know that for years, you could go to the VET and quite easily walk up to the ticket booth and buy game day. Since Reid came on board things have changed, but during no Giants era could you say that. Only one time for the relocated Saints game did it happen.

Then why is it the Giants NEVER seem to have ANY presence at the VET or LINC?

I find it embarassing how the Eagles rain or shine make it to the Meadowlands and we get shut out of Philly.

It really makes us look like we are WAY below the Eagles base in terms of popularity, loyalty, and support, which is pathetic for a team in the New York market.

This is NOT an expansion town.

  4. As a 21-year-old fan who drove around 8 hours in two days and paid 150 dollars of money I don't really have to go watch my team lose to the Eagles, I am seriously offended by this thread.

It's quite simple, there are a lot of traditional STH's who are old. They don't get loud, hell, a lot fall asleep during the game. But I went to two Giants games this year, and both times were because a STH sold me their tickets. I got great seats for a decent value.

I went because I love my team. I had a good feeling they were going to lose, but I still went and cheered my ass off. I had a great time and a lot of those old guys who don't get loud or whatever are great people to talk to who know the game really well.

And honestly, there were 5000 Eagles fans there, which is NOT bad at all considering how close PA is to NJ.

YOU EVER BEEN TO A YANKEES - RED SOX GAME?! It's always 40% full with the road team.

I cant even believe I replied to this thread again, I can feel my IQ going down.

NO WAY it is 40% Sox fans.

    20% tops.

  5. This is exactly what I have been saying for YEARS and Mike Francessa on WFAN had a segment to this on Monday.

Our home STH fans are a disgrace to the Giants and the city of New York as it pertains to being a passionate, traditional Northeast city.

In the 80s the place was rocking...but since the late 90s it gets worse year by year, and sadly wins/loses do not help.

The crowd always sounds like a tennis match...and it is awful how many "loyal" STHers sell their seats to Eagle and Cowboy fans.

You do not see this at Yankee Stadium or MSG.

I really can not stand a New York team, a big market tradition, being overrun by road fans, especially when the Giants are in Philly, they have ZERO Giants fans.

It really makes us look like an expansion team...and frankly it DOES affect the on field performance.

Why is it Eli has to go Philly and deal with hostility yet McNabb can come to New York with the red carpet?

Fuck our STHers...I hope they bleed bankrupt from the PSLs....I shed no tears.

They suck and could learn something from Eagle/Jet fans.

  6. Midas is absolutely right about the Rangers and the Yanks. Rangers had problems selling out a few years ago. The Blueseaters are no more and the place is way more coporate. And he's absolutely right about the Yankees who were playing to half full stadiums in the 80's.

The Rangers have NEVER had problems drawing.

They sold out for years even when they stank.

Go look up on ESPN.com their attendance from the early part of this decade when they were a joke.

I was in the blue seats...they are as passionate and everything New York sports is about.

MSG and the Rangers base is everything the Giants fickle base isn't.

I think the Yanks in the 80s was Steinny protest/fear of the Bronx.

  7. the jets have a much younger fan base. therefore they have more energy. part of having such an old franchise that has never had a recent dynasty is that older people make up a huge part of our fanbase. the yankees fanbase was the exact same in the 80's--they never packed yankee stadium in the 80's. it wasn't until they started winning championships that the frontrunners jumped on and made that fanbase so loud and passionate.

but yeah, this is a baseball town--by far, and we have a ton of front runners too. look how many people jumped on the rangers bandwagon in '94--now no one cares about them

That's not true about the Rangers.

They sell out every night, and going to a home game last year, that place is FULL of passion.

Second, my understanding was the Giants had a bigger base than the Jets.

In fact I was raised to believe the margin was bigger over the Jets than the Yankees over the Mets.

The Jets PROPORTIONALY have more younger fans...but overall MORE younger fans are Giants fans because the Giants are number one in the region.

    Fair statement?

If so...why the lack of buzz on wfan and in apparel?

Have YOU noticed this being in NYC?

  8. you take the good with the bad nose.

serious question, what matters to you more: your team winning a championship or your team being perceived as the best and most passionate fan base with a 0% opposing fan at home stadium rate?

The former...but the latter is still very important.

Pride, passion, and tradition are all reasons along with winning that I like sports and choose to root for New York not sunbelt expansion teams.

Giants fans in particular seem more like Falcon fans.

I really don't get why there was so little buzz around New York this year for the Giants.

Did YOU notice that living in New York...because me being in CT and listening to WFAN sure noticed the lack of apathy/buzz for the Giants.

The Jets got more coverage on WFAN (our station) and in CT you didn't see people sporting Giants gear like Yankees apparel there or Skins in DC.

Is football/the Giants THAT unpopular...are the Jets...the expansion choking Jets...more popular?

  9. yeah, our crowd sucks, i agree. i was surprised how great tey were for the carolina game. but that doesn't have anything to do why im a fan so it doesn't bother me too much. also, i dont like going to baseball or football games. with the exception of basketball i'd rather watch sports at home than at the stadium, so i am not in position to criticize those who are willing to spend the money, brace the elements, sit in the traffic, etc

Sometimes I wish my sports heritage was from Eastern not Western CT.

  10. Problem is...Plax is stupid.

Who is stay he doesn't pull the same bull shit he did all year.

Being late...missing practices...cussing at the coach like he did during the SF game?

I think it speaks volumes about how desperate we are/how pathetic the WR FAs are.

Now Plax will be like the girl who you dump only to find out you need, he will have MORE power than ever.

  11. it's the fans that can afford those PSLs that are generally the flakiest. my best guess is that you'll see more of what you don't like from our fan base thanks to PSLs

You don't see that In Pittsburgh/Philly/Boston.

    Just us.

One of the reason I root for New York teams is the passion and pride that comes from being a charter franchise, the tradition from a northeast city.

Sad to see we are more like fickle Washington/sunbelt teams.

  12. So because the Giants have been around longer, that doesn't give the Philadelphia Eagles the right

to beat the New York Giants? This might be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard, and believe

me guys...I hang out with a lot of stupid people.

Is it embarrassing? Yeah, but not because of the things you wrote.

No...you clearly misread and missed the point.

Perhaps there's some transference going on as you have come as the one being stupid and pansyish.

  13. he's right to an extent. as ggirl said it's a ton of old fans and traffic absolutely sucks getting out of the meadowlands so people understandably leave early. still, who cares?

So you don't find it embarassing that the charter franchise of the nfl in the number one market in the US got punked by a lowlife franchise in Philly on national TV and continues to do so yearly?

Maybe if I grew up a fan of DC or Atlanta teams I'd not care...but when I was raised to be a fan of New York part of the pride comes in rooting for tradition, pride, and passion that is supposed to coincide with a long standing franchise and city.

  14. No question the loss of Osi was a major factor for the downward trajectory of the Giants.

Once Fred Robbins got hurt, the Giants had no other major force besides Tuck who could pressure the QB.

Kiwi did not have a great year...and Tuck with those double teams was clearly getting tired and banged up.

Add into the loss of Strahan and Mitchell (who sucked at coverage but could blitz) and you have lost THREE major pass rushing forces while adding just Kiwi.

We had very poor depth on the DL...and reinforcements from the LB spot for pass rushing were no existent.

I think the cumulative talent loss of Osi/Strahan/Mitchell/Plaxico was far too great a void.
