The Winston Justice pick is one of the best picks of the first round because of the lack of skills on Arizona's OL, but they have terrible interior linemen, and guys like Edge need the interior to be good just as much as your exterior (Leonard Davis, Winston Justice)
I agree, but I didn't feel there were any interior OL's that presented the value that Maroney did at that spot. Difference of opinion I guess.

It hardly makes sense to pick a running back in the second round two years in a row, especially after the first year you picked up arguably one of the best RB's in the league, no matter what his injury history. They need offensive line help, not 3 running backs with great skills. I like how people do BPA but you don't go that far.
Arrington stinks, so I'm not worried about picking a RB for the 2nd year in a row because the first one is terrible.
The offensive line need was addressed with Winston Justice in the first round.

Then they still had JJ and Shipp. There was no need for Maroney. And Edge blew his knee out what, 4 years ago?
Shipp has had so many injuries the last few years he can't be relied upon. Arrington stinks

Best:
Arizona - Laurence Maroney fell 9 picks into the second round. The Cardinals get a better back than last year's flop JJ Arrington.
How can you say that was one of the best? One of the dumbest. They now would have Edge, JJ Arrington, Maroney, and Shipp?!
Maroney was IMO the BPA after the 1st round ended.

The gamble paid off in the second round when they collected Texas Tackle Jonathan Scott.
Just thought I'd correct your typo. you must mean Veron Davis. Must have got sidetracked thinking of offensive linemen from Texas

For depth and a spot start
To be a starter next to Pierce

Despite taking all offensive players for a defensive starved Cardinals team I feel great about my draft. Winston Justice immediately improves the offensive line and helps clear the way for Edge. Maroney was simply too good to pass up when available 2nd round (was the BPA on my 2nd round board), his running style reminds me a lot of Steven Jackson (or maybe its just the dreds) and I think he will be a great complement to Edge extending his career while slowly bringing Maroney into a full time roll. In the 3rd round I also got my BPA in a play making TE Joe Klopfenstein who will open up the middle and allow Fitz and Boldin to make more plays. In the 4th round I'd consider drafting a developmental QB like a Omar Jacobs in hope of him taking the reigns from Kurt Warner, and the rest of the defensive needs can be taken care of in the draft later or through free agency. either way the Cardinals will be a feared offense capable of outscoring anyone and challenging for a playoff spot next year.

Looks like it was a valid concern.
I disagree. Ronnie Brown started 14 games and so did Williams. Williams had that ankle injury that I'd chalk up to bad luck more than being injury prone.

I also think the durability question can be raised about the guy. He's never been asked to run the ball 25 times a game on a consistent basis. Can he hold up to the beating a RB takes in the NFL while logging 300 carries in a season? Nobody knows.
Wasn't that the knock on the Auburn backs last year?

Yea but ya know I hate commiting myself to anything to begin with. Once I do, I have to be accountable for what ever happens. I had computer problems yesterday and that is understandable but I also said I would help out in the very begining and I havent done much helping. I understand this is just a message board and we are here for fun but I hate to see someone dedicate his time and efforts for it to turn out like this.
Yeah I'm exactly the same way. I was hoping ot help out a lot more, but a ton of issues have limited my ability to be around during the draft times.
If this is the end I'd like to thank Money for a ton of thankless work on putting this on anyway. Hopefully we can continue, I had big plans for rounds 3 and 4
-
I should have helped out a lot more then I did. I do apologize for that and again for the other day.
I think I've been less dependable then you have so don't take it so hard.

At this point, I'm strongly considering reducing the mock to 3 rounds. If this many people don't care enough, why should I?
not a terrible idea. You shouldn't waste your time and effort making half the picks
-
Do you know how hard it is going to pick a 7th rounder? I never heard of 90% of these players and where am I going to get states on the very late picks?
Its only 4 rounds
-
The Redskins, Bears, Bengals, and Colts have so far.
25%!

Did anyone submit a board today? Seems like you are wasting your time today money

Funny? After Goliath picks him we'll all find out he's got a brain tumor or been arrested with 20 lbs. of blow & a dead hooker in his trunk..... but he's a good player!
Not as funny as that

#3 is a good player
There is the official kiss of death.

Comp picks were added. The received a pick at the end of the 3rd round, 97 overall. And there were 4 comp picks tacked on at the end of the 4th round.
gotcha. I thought they were already added.

He really uped his stock after having a great Senior Bowl, and had an amazing workout at the combine. With his size and speed, teams feel they can play him at both OLB or DE, and for teams who run a 3-4, some scouts feel Wimbley could make an impact similar to Demarcus Ware.
I don't recall even seeing his name until a few weeks ago. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

How do you all feel about LenDale? He could very well drop to us, and he could actually be the replacememnt for Tiki we;ve been looking for. Don't get me wrong, I know Tiki could carry us for a few more years, but surley at some poijnt we will need an every down back to replace him. We get LenDale and he shares the load with Tiki, keep both fresh and all that. I know we need a LB bad, but he is top 10 or 15 talent wise and could fall right in our lap.
No

Just a question.... Where the hell did he come from? I don't remember seeing him on any 1st round mocks a few weeks ago and now he's top 15 on a bunch of mocks. Am I stupid or how the hell did he fly right up the board?

To all GMs,
Follow the link at the top of this thread to see the revised schedule.
Am I missing something? I don't see any change in the schedule

Next Question
I have a question:
How did I see know you were going to respond with next question after every question?
Who do we draft?
in New York Giants

With most major needs filled I think that allows us to go strictly BPA which is the best option. I'd prefer we look to the defensive side of the ball, but if a Deangello Williams or Chad Jackson is available I think you have to take them
