  1. As am I considering he showed us he could make plays when healthy, unlike Tim Carter. If we were to go into the season with him as our 3rd WR (completely healthy I might add) I would not be worried at all.
  2. I like the idea of moving Gibril to FS. He is not big enough as a SS and most of his production (rookie year) came at the FS spot.
  3. I agree that we need to improve and that Eli's development will make our red zone offense more productive but if Stovall is there it's almost a sure bet that we should take him because he'd add another dimension to our offense, and also could become Amani's future replacement. This is why I would like us to concentrate on defense for our 1st pick and then choose Stovall in the 2nd round. With all this said we can't forget about Jamaar Taylor. Though injured, this guy has shown what Tim Carter never could when he was on the field: He is a playmaker. A healthy Taylor definately improves our offense because we all saw sparks of great playmaking ability when he was on the field. The way I look at it our WR core would consist of Burress, Toomer, Taylor, Stovall, and Tyree, and after Amani moves on (though I do pray we can get him a ring) Plax, Stovall, and Taylor would be a lethal 1-2-3 combo.
  4. Agreed. Look what the lack of a salary cap has done to baseball. I've nearly completely lost interest in the sport.
  5. Yeah I agree but I also think Eli's progression will help with that as well. We need to utilize Shockey more in the redzone as well as using more screens to Tiki. I mean we have the weapons, we just need to execute more. Stovall would just be the icing on the cake for our red zone offense.
  6. There is definately the possibility that Alan Zemitas could be converted to FS in the NFL which wouldn't be a bad pickup. Also Dwayne Slay would be available in the later rounds if we were to look towards the draft to find a FS. Chris Hope would be a great FA addition if the price was right.
  7. Eh, I think Stovall could get the job done as well especially for what we need right now. Here is the link to the red zone %. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c...l-inside-20.htm
  8. If we're looking at a 3rd WR I believe Maurice Stovall would be a good fit as a 3rd WR for us. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...icestovall.html If you look at the notes section on this website it says "This guy can be a terror to cover in the red zone" I know we weren't that good in the red zone this past year so he'd be a great fit for our offense.
  9. It comes as no surprise that you would bring up Eli Manning in a thread that has nothing to do with him. Lose the obsession.
  10. Yeah I agree there are a lot of people there who have to clue what they are talking about (hell I might even be one of them) but that's what happens when you have a board the size of the GMB. The more this board grows, the more idiotic posters there will be. Just some food for thought.
  11. I'm sure it wasn't planned that way lol That wasn't my point. I just think if Jacobs could come in and grind out yards like Bettis did then other teams would have yet another weapon to worry about. The question is can he produce? We'll find out.
  12. Yes at first. But afterwards he was the featured back while Bettis was used to spell him. Staley in my opinion has been a non factor in the NFL ever since he left philly.
  13. I agree. I think if we used him somewhat like the Steelers used Bettis to spell Parker, teams wouldn't key so much on Tiki because we all saw what happened when Tiki got shut down. As far as our RB of the future I can't tell whether Jacobs will become that but I do believe he deserves more carries to add that spark to our offense.
