I like him but will be shocked if the Giants make the moves to sign him. Eagles won't do it.

Well he is the best linebacker available IMHO. Had more sacks by himself than all of our linebackers last season. I don't think he fits what the Giants have targeted in the past years for the position.

Sure its possible but we would need to see another great improvement in his game next season to be considered for that spot. When we first picked him up he was considered damaged goods with great potential. He became the punt/kickoff return guy we've been looking for in 2007. He then has a great training camp, got on the field more even before we lost Burress.

He did struggle against the better cb's in the game. Dropped a few passes and disappeared when he was placed in the #1 spot.

Hixon could develop into a #1 receiver in two or three years.

Sinorice Moss, if you picked anyone else; you weren't watching Giants football the last two years.

Jeremy Shockey because if he was healthy this season, he would have stepped up where nobody did after Burress.

Now a Giant that could have been something special with us but was let go before his time, Joe Jurevicious. The man could catch and was a vertical threat. More than my favorite WR Ike Hilliard.

I didn't see super bowl XXXV? Ron Dixon of all people was the highlight of that horrible outing.

Well just for the fun of it I'm gonna put Keith Elias up there. Watching him and Charles Way in the preseason all those years ago still is a very fond memory.

Yeah I think Kurt Warner gets in regardless of the outcome of this super bowl. He won't be remembered as the QB who lost the super bowl but the one who took the perennial losers to the super bowl. Then there is the time he spent with the Rams and the way he broke into the NFL through NFL Europe.

Kurt Warner is an excellent first ballot candidate for the HOF.

Don't have to give Eli anything but the price tends to go up over time. The idea of replacing Eli is absurd, ask the 20 other teams in the league who don't have a QB worth half the price.

Goodall has been inconsistent with handing down punishment so far. The Giants did preemptive suspension but that in no way should stop Goodall from another suspension. He has been heavy handed on some players and lax on others.

He'll still be a Giant but I think he will be out of football next season. Burress will run into the ire of Goodall. I like Goodall but he's even handed when it comes down to punishing players.

A tall fast black guy and the only person NYPD can come up with is Plaxico Burress on gameday.

I've gotta say...

The linebackers are easily the most unappreciated group on the Giants and they've got some pretty big shoes to fill considering the guys who played in the long history of this organization. Now I've only been seriously following (by serious I mean hanging with the rest of you living and dying with the team and diagnosing plays, penalties, drafts) the Giants for about 10 years now.

I've come to the conclusion the Giants do not put much emphasis on the pass cover abilities of their linebackers. Every year the fans ask for a linebacker that can cover and every year they are disappointed. The Giants don't even try to bring in a free agent linebacker who is better in coverage, they bring in guys who are better at getting the QB and stuffing the run.

They stick to stopping the run and sacking the QB. So instead of looking at the linebackers deficiency in coverage as a problem, focus on the lack of pressure on the QB from the linebackers that managed only 3.5 sacks this season.

Because in the end, the economy crumbling and people losing their homes has nothing to do with the case in front of jury.

All of these favorable arguments could all be moot depending on how the law is written. And they can't bring up other unsolved crimes in defending Burress.

 

I actually read that Burress' defense attorney got a rapper off on similar charges many years ago. NY subsequently changed the law to make sure that never happens again, and it is this more recent law that obviously applies to Plax.

 

Why would a jury have any sympathy? The economy is crumbling, people are losing their homes, and this guy gets paid 30 million to play a game and this is what he does? This is a tough sell. If this goes to trial, I'll bet he does time.

I heard about that on another website and people were posting their thoughts on it and the funniest one was this one guy saying "I hope that was Joe Buck's car" and just thinking of that being Joe Buck's car has just made me a much happier person.

Well lets hope the New York justice system doesn't want him back or we could be looking at a conflict of interest.

If we can get Burress back next season, I see no reason to get another top receiver through free agency.

The Giants can still develop the WR's behind Burress and we should. Hixon sure didn't look like a top receiver the last few games this season but that doesn't mean he will not develop into one and that goes for Manningham as well.

If you're going to make a keep'em or dump'em thread; come up with realistic players/coaches to replace them.

Dump Antonio Pierce and bring in who exactly? I know its popular here to dump Pierce especially after that second Eagles game but its popular stupidity. There aren't many linebackers that can cover a player like Westbrook and those might be able to well they're not available.

I do realize people are still ticked off about Burress but if he can come back next year, we should bring him back.

Its a really good thing the fans don't run franchises. Just stick to the video games.

Been hoping he'd retire for two years now. While he has had some good games in the last two years, I wonder if its because defenses considered him a lesser threat.

Its been a great run for Amani Toomer, great player but time to hang it up.

The problem wasn't the field goal attempts. He had to go for them however I don't agree with them having Carney making those kicks considering the wind.

Oh the plays that were called...

Sadly the Giants never figured out how to be consistent and score without Burress.

That would be a good start but someone should check to see if he owns a gun first.
