To be fair no one knew how this was going to turn out.

He only had what? 3.5 sacks on two years prior and a god awful 8 game stretch with the Giants.

If Gettleman have him 12 million a year contract people would of burnt Giants stadium to the ground.

I mean look a Peppers dude is heading for a massive contract as well, if they don't give him an extension, after next season but I'd still make the trade 9 times out of 10.

But good for Williams he's excelling under Coach Chaos and Graham, I'm willing to bet he goes elsewhere and he isn't having anything close to the success he is here, and hopefully he remembers that come free agency but probably not lol

Dave Gettleman did, it is why he traded for him.

We were dealing with a shitty product and rightfully as humans we don't like shitty products... You can shop at the dollar store if you want... I want a good product and now we see we have a decent game that's worth watching.    I have no penchant to watch misery... it's why I walked out on the Knicks for good late 90s... to save my soul.

You're not going to question my fanhood... stop it.    YOUR opinion is yours and yours only... and you seem to struggle at the mere notion that someone can possibly disagree with you... if we have a shitty team, then draft position is what I'm looking for... if we have a team that's competing, then obviously my trajectory changes... yet both trajectories point to wanting a successful team.

I come here for the disagreements!  :Popcorn-emot:

If everyone agreed with each other, how boring would this board be?  I see a team that has really competed every week this season and yeah the results weren't always there.  I don't watch the games live anymore, watch on NFL pass so I can watch on my schedule, without the commercials and it lessens the pain of a loss.  I just don't have 3 - 3 1/2 hours to watch television anymore.

Kudos to walking out on the Knicks, wish we could trade them for something...maybe a cricket team.  :rimshot:

Well yeah now that the team is playing real Football.

Wait so they are playing real football after winning two game in a row versus winning just one game a few weeks ago?  When the Giants lose again does that change?

  4. The NFL Salary cap is going to go down for 2021 instead of dramatically up for a change.  I do not see salary cap problems for the NY Giants yet I see Xavier McKinney waiting in the wings here.  Doesn't make much cents to lockup Logan Ryan long term or even short term.

This offensive line looks nothing like the shit show that started this season.

Yeah it took time and it has gotten better steadily, just not as fast as anyone would have liked.  Next few games is when we find how much they've improved.  Seahawks are the biggest challenge for the offensive line since the Bucs.  Ravens & Browns also have good lines.

We can't sign all those guys next season regardless. Tomlinson to me is the priority. The Giants can replace Fackrell and we need to draft defense in the next draft to bolster that secondary. Ryan is going to want more than $6 million now after this season.

There is just one problem with re-signing Tomlinson.  Giants have Lawrence who is playing just as well if not better.  I really do hope they re-sign Tomlinson.

The weird thing about the Skins is that they're coming alive with Alex Smith behind center.  Dude's been the best QB on the team but the coaching staff decided to bury him.  I get that he's not the future but no reason to rush your young shit QBs onto the field with somebody like Smith on the roster.

Alex Smith has the benefit of experience compared to the other QBs on the roster.  I don't know how ready Alex Smith has been since coming back from his injury and was indeed just buried.  He has had a tough NFL career being drafted and playing for teams that felt they needed someone else to win playoff games.

  8. Humiliating year for the NFC East, misery loves company.  Look at the Eagles/Cowboys and most thought they were two teams that were playoff teams.  Now they look ready for demolition.  Redskins have been under construction for over twenty years with no end in sight.  Giants fans see a light at the end of the tunnel and we're looking at better days ahead.

  9. I think they are playing at a pro bowl level just think many will overlook them because of the Giants win record.  Other obstacle is players who have been selected for the pro bowl last year playing on teams that have a better win record.

  10. On another note.  I saw Columbo as someone who could work with the Giants offensive line for years to come.  DeGuilermo on the other hand has a habit of wearing out his welcome so we could be replacing him soon as well.  We talk about continuity for a young offensive line and I see changes that affect it in the short term.  Not sure if the switching out offensive linemen regularly is going to continue to work until opponents adapt or a new approach to how the NFL trains offensive linemen.  I think it can be great to develop backups right along side starters during a game because they will be called up at a moments notice.

  11. If he used video outside of the Eagles game I'd be a bit more enthusiastic.  Show some from the Bucs game!  Anyway I think the team has improved and I like Gallman out there because I see a hard runner in him who has been put on the back burner.  Doesn't have elite speed yet hard runner that bounces off of tackles which we did see in this video and is always falling forward which you see.

  12. Bit of a surprising move.  I read earlier how Judge wanted to work on being a better head coach going forward and making some changes to his approach when compared to how he started the season.  I understand where he is coming from to bring in another assistant coach.  Clearly Columbo disagreed and I can understand how he feels about bringing in an assistant coach who is more than capable of simply being an assistant.  I don't think Columbo handed this well at all.  No effort on his part to work with the change.  Lets see what the next couple of weeks bring.

If only we had listened to tempest as he said “stay the course and be patient.  Things will work out” through every failed gm and coach we’ve had.  We would’ve all eventually been correct together

We haven't been through that many general managers.  We have been through quite a few head coaches the last couple of years unfortunately but when you find the right one, everything else falls into place.  Giants made a mistake with firing Coughlin and it took a few years to get that right by hiring a coach who is just like Coughlin.  Go Figure.

    Rosas had one good year.

    One.

Outside of that he was a 70% kicker.

And try not to forget the year he had a bad snapper.  Aldrick Rosas is a very good kicker we could have kept on the roster but we cut him because of public opinion.  If you don't think he was a very good kicker I will not spend the time to convince you otherwise because it would be a waste of my time.

  15. The team has been turning the corner for a few weeks now.  You can't look at the win record to determine it.  You need to watch these football games play by play to grasp what is going on.  Stats tell half truths and the win/loss record doesn't tell the whole story.  The NY Giants won the super bowl twice with Eli Manning in seasons ALL OF YOU thought was a lost cause, and then they won.  Dave Gettleman is the GM regardless of how many wins the NY Giants end the season with simply because I see a team moving in the right direction play by play.

  16. Aldrick Rosas is a very good kicker and we will miss him, good young clutch kickers are few and far between.  If and when Andre Baker gets through his garbage, he will also be available for next to nothing after learning with the NY Giants for another team.  Considering how his case is going so far, he will be playing elsewhere in the NFL in 2021.
