Plax 4 Prez
Redskins release DE Jason Taylor ASHBURN, VIRGINIA (TICKER) —The Washington Redskins cut ties with defensive end Jason Taylor, releasing the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The move came just three days after the Redskins signed free agent defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to a seven-year, $100 million contract, the richest deal ever given to a defensive player. Taylor, 34, was traded to Washington last July by the Miami Dolphins. The three-time All-Pro struggled in his only season with the Redskins, recording just 3 1/2 sacks while playing just 12 games in an injury-plagued campaign. A six-time Pro Bowler, Taylor was scheduled to make $8 million this upcoming season. Yahoo! Link
