NYHC GIANT
sure they are at about 110 mil or 1/2 of what the Yanks spend. Yes, we do have the highest payroll in baseball. The Mets have been up and down the past few years: Mets 2003=$117,176,429/Finished=5th in the NL east Mets 2004=$ 96,660,970 /Finished=4th in the NL east Mets 2005=$ 101,305,821/Finished=Tied for 3rd in the NL east ..but the results have been pretty much the same. All the haters out there cry about the money they spend, but they jump right on board and start doing what the Yankees have been doing for a while now(a la- Pedro bad toe).Don't forget the revenue the visiting stadiums get when the bronx bombers come to their town and help sell out the stadiums, because they can't do it on their own. The top three payrolls of 2005 are Yankees, red sox, mets. So you're one of the top three "bad guys"of baseball. You should'nt frown on it...embrace it.The way minya's been spendin' the money, you'll pass the red sox in no time. What do you mean, "for now?" We are only about $5M over last year, and we have almost $35M to $40M coming off the books in Floyd, Matsui, Glavine, and Trachsel alone.
