Allstarjim
Did you guys know Adam Dunn is a free agent this offseason? Not listed as a first baseman, but I thought he had played the position before. Pat Burrell will be a free agent as well (as much as he's hit at Shea, I'd welcome him, although it would kind of be like sleeping with the enemy). Starting pitchers (who I know we will be in the market for): AJ Burnett Ben Sheets CC Sabathia Bullpen arms: Brian Fuentes Jason Isringhausen Francisco Rodriguez

I don't think Burrell's going anywhere...he's in the process of having about $2 million worth of work done to his penthouse in Rittenhouse Square here in Philly, and he's said a number of times that he wants to stay. Besides, I don't think he hits particularly well at Shea, just against the Mets in general. And if Billy Wagner is still on the roster, there's no way he goes to NY. My guess is that if he doesn't re-sign with the Phils he goes to the AL to be a DH somewhere.

Allstarjim
i dont see us going after any of the 3 starting pitchers you mentioned. Who do you see then, gateb? Assuming Pedro and Perez will be gone, that's two spots in the rotation that need to be addressed, and with the money available, these guys are the highest quality of those out there. I realize Ben Sheets has had pretty bad injury problems, but he's likely not going to be in Milwaukee because they likely won't pay him and probably won't want to make that kind of investment in him. If you look at the arms out there, there is not a lot of guys there that we would want in our rotation. Unless you want to bring Braden Looper or Kris Benson back :brooding: . Allstarjim
Well I didn't include Lackey and Penny because those are reasonable options for the club for quality starters. Plus, I don't like Randy Wolf. He sucks, IMO, Lowe has always been a competitor I admired, but in a year we are trying to get younger, well, you know. II don't think you can just look at next year as a holdover year, waiting for guys that may or may not pan out.
