  1. I'm going to be optimistic and say YES. With a new system and getting the injured guys back like Toomer and Petitgout I think Eli will be better than this year. He does need to work a lot with all of his receivers during the offseason though, even if it means coming down to Miami with all of them (He should even pay the expenses for the trip) and get better.

  2. I believe Coughlin stays since he does have one more year and to one more your to prove himself. Lewis is gone and possibly the rest of the staff. The special team return team is a joke and needs to be fixed once agian. How many times have we gone through this? This was the first game all year where I did not blame the play calling. It was decent, except for Manning missing wide open receivers, but this is not a thread for ranting. What do we do about the RB position? We are going to miss Barber. Hopefully we can find someone to replace him. What are we going to do about the GM position? I hope we hire someone out of the organization. One last thing, if we fire Coughlin, it will be a big mistake.

I think the playcalling was a piece of shit again. We were on the 50 twice in the first quarter and threw the ball on first down, ran on second, and on 3rd and 8-12 we had to throw. And when we were on the 5 on first down we throw a mid screen? What the fuck? Why dont you bring in the 265 lb back and pound it through the line? Then second down instead of bringing him in again, we run a weak off tackle with Tiki. Then 3rd down we call a jump play to Shockey with a bum ankle...

I don't know whats worse, watching these calls or the Dolphins play calling. Bottom line is, if Tommy boy wants to keep his job he needs to fire everyone under him and bring in some good coordinators and get the guy who gets Tiki in shape. Injuries and bad play calling are going to ruin any team. I would love to see Mike Martz come in as the OC. Also I've heard rumors about Marshal Faulk wanting to come out of retirement and play for Martz. If we could land Martz from the Lions and bring in Faulk for atleast a year and pick up a young back, we could be well off with Jacobs, Faulk, and maybe a guy like Turner.

And about Arrington, he wasnt playing the best football of his career but he started to come on in the Dallas game where he got injured. He was playing solid and our D was BALLIN, but having to play Carlos "The fucking slug" Emmon (Did you fucking see those 2 end arounds he had contain on?) It's hard to stop a team. We need to go after GOOD DB's not fuckin injured, old, retarded, over used corners and safties. Pay the dude from the Bills what ever the fuck he wants and bring him over. Pay the DB's what they want. If we could get some type of coverage in the secondary our D could be a great one. Oh but we need to get a new scheme, and not that soft ass pussy zone that Lewis goes into.

  3. Stop being negative nancy's... Maybe this move creates some type of fucking spark under the offenses' ass and we do something good for a change. If we win we're in the playoffs, and we have weapons to be dangerous if we can get some decent playcalling. It might be too optimistic, but you know what, i think it's better than rolling over and giving up.

  4. Not sure about all that, but one thing I have to say about Eli is that it was very, very disappointing to see him not make an effort at that ball that was on the turf after the botched snap. He didn't have any interest at all in throwing his body on it, and that's alarming. He just looks defeated. One thing you could always say about him is that he always gave an effort and never blamed anybody else. Now even he looks like it's all gotten to him. We are up Shit Creek.

Well when you're getting pounded all day, after every throw, i would think you'd be a little hesitant to throw your body into a pile for a fumble.

Over the last few weekends i've notice Eli gets hit a lot, and a lot of the times he gets hit pretty close to what would be a easy Roughing the Passer penalty if it were Brady or the other Manning back there. Check it out this weekend, he gets hit a lot and gets up every time. I woulnd't question his toughness at all.

  5. Wow, did you guys even watch the same game as me?

Coughlin didn't underthrow Plax on the TD

Lewis hasn't missed two yard passes to the flats the past six weeks.

Huffnagle hasn't overthrown Shockey on crossing patterns for the past three years.

I'm through with the "well, he just needs a new coaching staff" bullshit. He sucks. Period. Let's get a veteran and draft a young guy... Eli's got "career backup" written all over him.

Sorry buddy, but you're a fuckin moron. When you have an OC that calls a pass from the shotgun after 2 successful runs by Tiki, theres a problem. When the OC calls 3 straight passing plays, theres a problem. When the OC runs the same fucking screen 3 times in 1 game, theres a fuckin problem. Yeah Eli played like shit, but also remember he had atleast 1 defender in his face almost every time he dropped back. The O line is helping, the drops aren't helping, and yeah his over/underthrows aren't helping, but you can't put 100% blame on him and you can't say he sucks.

Did you see the Jets game last night? Look at the play calling. Pennington isn't a great QB, but the play calling helps him out and allows the offense to move.

At the end of the game (when it was already 30-7) we ran twice, got like 18 yards, then came out and threw 3 times. What the fuck is that? You already started running the ball to end the game, then you're gonna turn around and make Eli throw 3 times to prolong it?

  6. He's average. It's just that his last name is Manning.

Average arm strength, average decision making, slightly below average accuracy, average to slightly below leadership skills.

He'll be an average QB in this league. Lots of them have won Superbowls (Rypien, Dilfer, etc.), and maybe we can with Manning, but he'll never be his brother. Hell, he'll never be Donovan McNabb.

He's a third round pick if his last name is "Jones."

You compared Trent Dilfer to Eli? Wow... Trent Dilfer was horrible, why do you think he was cut after he won a fuckin superbowl? Eli is above average, but not great. And he's certainly not a bust, those are the guys like Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Joey Harrington, etc...

  7. I think we're just used to seeing Osi as the 2nd DE on the other side of Strahan which takes 2-3 blockers almost every play. Now Osi is getting the double team and Kiwi is getting caught up with the tackle and sometimes a running back.

The future without Stra looks more grim than without Tiki...

  8. I'm sorry, but when that happens, its not on Lewis. It's the players fault.

If the scheme is weak and predictable, i don't care what players you have out there the defense is gonna get shredded unless there is an incredible pass rush (which is what we had in that 5 game win streak). With injuries, sorry ass DB's, and a shitty scheme, theres no chance and you cant put the blame on anyone person. We need Strahan back, and fast.

  9. I have no idea what you're talking about, but if he'd just taken Cole out of the play it would've been 1st and 20 from our 10, OUR BALL! In other words, offensive pass interference to keep him from intercepting the ball. The best option as you call it, took us right out of the game.

The ball was tipped, there would have been no penalty if tiki tackled him.

  10. Does it matter? At least for this season.

God, we need coaches that can coach. I can't wait for 2008. I don't expect a coach in his first year with a team to win a super bowl.

Hopefully Strahan comes back next season. We won't be as fucked without Tiki. Honestly, right now who is more important to our team Strahan or Tiki? I think it's Strahan.

I think you're definetely right, and I see us trading up in the draft and taking either McFadden from Arkansas or maybe the dude from Oklahoma .... Peterson? I forgot his name.

  11. That was a nice win but the Eagles will kill you next week. Jeff Garcia is playing well and shoiuld be able to rip this secondary apart.

    My Prediction:

    Eagles- 24

    Giants- 17

So your prediction is the Eagles are going to KILL us by 7 points? That makes a lot of sense, i guess...

  12. Because Eli doesn't have great arm strength. He's no Roethlisberger, no Vick when it comes to arm strength. Add bad mechanics to the mix and you've got some ducks floating.

On the other hand, I'm happy with the win. :TU:

Eli has a great deep ball and very good arm strength. I wouldn't compare it to Vick or Young, but Roethlishomo, yeah. When you can't step up into the pocket its hard to throw a bomb just the same when you have to roll out and cant plant your feet. Have you noticed when eli gets a good drop back, most of his throws are 8 feet over Plax's head and when he's rushed the balls are at the ground.

  13. I didn't mean to run the same play. They could've even used him as a decoy in a similar situation. Bu that may confuse the other team, putting the Giants at an advantage, which is something the Giants don't do.

That's a very good point, I rarely see the D not ready for a play we run. Usually it's just our team out executing the other team on the play, but the direct snap and screen to Moss were plays the D wasn't ready for and they paid off. The hurry up offense as well, it gives the O an advantage, and Manning plays best in no huddle, yet we rarely use it.

  14. Why even talk shit about our QB after he had a good game? I agree with you about Huffnagle tho, he needs to go. Also we had Romo looking horrible throughout the first 2 quarters then all of a sudden, Tim Lewis decided to go into the soft ass zone D again where we always get torched. We need a pass rush to make up the lack of talent and skill in the secondary... What doesn't he get about that? Blitz mother fucker BLITZ
