  1. I've been scouring all over the place and all I can find are sites from 2006.

Anyone got a link to anticipated cuts for this year, or is it too soon for that?

Also... nobody has picked up Luke P. Maybe he'll re-sign?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Luke Petitgout signed/unrestricted free agent, Three-year contract

  2. they sign Portis on a good defense, let wes welkar go, and depend on Culpepper  ? I mean I know that there Defense isnt a bunchof young bucks, but they were ranked 4th in total defense last year, and have no offense. That orginazation is going to hell.

You do know they now have a first and two second round picks right?

  3. "Ain't no way in hell, after putting in so much time to learn this offense and be effective at it, am I'm going to let somebody come in here and take my job," he said.

    I believe him.

"I really don't care. I'll get along with him and I hope he's a great guy, but that's 2-7's job."

    Great quote # 2-7.

  4. Is American Football popular in England? Seems to me that most Europeans mock our game and call us pansies for wearing helmets.

It's cool that you will get to see the Giants there, but do you think this will be a successful idea for the NFL?

Even if they don't do anytihng else after this game in London, they'll still make millions just with the attendence. The stadium they're gonna play in is huge.

  5. yea eric moulds wasnt that good for him and his running game got worse.

  6. "The question of why Gilbride's guidance didn't work from day 1 still remains and now Gilbride can't be counted on as a full time solution, since he'll be busy we the rest of the offense."

Okay, that kinda scares me, is Gildbride going to be our OC for the year?

  7. Sure he will. This guy is VERY fast. If he can find a way to stay healthy, he could very well end up one of the best RB's in the league. I cant wait for him to get his shot.

Good point, a good example of that would be Jerome Bettis. The Steelers were never able to do it until they brought in the home run hitter "FAAAAAAST" Willie Parker. :worshippy:

  8. I don't think it's crazy at all to be looking at a top RB for this draft. I think we need to take the best available player wether it be a DB, RB, or even WR since we won't have Plax and Amani for much longer. WR would be the lowest priority of course, but if that's the best talent when we're on the clock, I don't see a problem with it.

  9. You guys are saying that none of the players really like coughlin, well none of you are in the locker room, and none of you are in the office with them. All you get is what the media presents, and i rather trust the decisions they make then listen to the media. Coughlin's gonna be here again, it was the right decision. Look at the dolphins, for example, from Jimmy to Wacksted to Saban and now what? They are a team thats lost and most likely royally fucked unless they get a REALLY good OC and GM.

Changing coaches is never a good thing, especially when there are no other prominent candidates. And what are the odds that if we did sign a small name coach that they would be incredible like Peyton and Mangenious?

  10. You don't throw up your hands for one season and say "okay, we'll wait for Cowher". Simple fact is that the coaching carousel is running slow this year, but if some guys don't perform, then there's going to be a shit load of jobs next year. Detroit/Cleveland/ Minny/ GB/ even Gibbs in DC/ Texans/ Bills are examples of teams that if they don't show significant improvement next year, could be dumping coaches. Cowher (if he decides to come back), could have a shit load of offers on the table for him to choose. Hell say Gibbs is gone after next year, which is possible, do you think Snyder won't be the first on line with a Brinks truck full of money for Cowher?

You make decisions based on the overall future of your team, not one year. It would take guts to fire Coughlin, but it was guts that was needed and the Giants failed badly here. As for Coughlin, I'm surprised he sits there and lets himself get pissed on like this, if he had any pride he'd quit, because I have no doubt he'd snap up a college job very fast, his "disclipline" schtick would work well in college ( he did well at BC after all).

    :huh::unsure::confused:

if he had pride he'd quit? Yeah that doesn't make sense to me. If he had pride he'd do what he's doing, trying again and trying to make this team better.

  11. I think if we go 5-10 I'll be really scared about us not even playing the 16th game.

We should stay where we are. There are so many players you can draft in the middle of the draft that can be just as good as your first rounder. Hopefully we stay where we are, and maybe draft a guy like Ginn, or Lynch, or someone in the secondary.

lol you think Ginn is gonna fall to 20?

  12. It took 6-7 weeks for Shockey to show 'desire' and 'heart'. What happened in the New Orleans game, Mr. Shockey?? Granted, I can admit Shockey did play (in this ONE game) like he did in 2002 BUT...but, why wait till the Eagle game to do it? Shockey, we needed you in the Cowboy game, we needed you in the Saints game and we could have used you in the last loss to the Eagles.

I wouldn't trade Eli, I was kidding when I said trade Shockey and Eli for Vick and some draft picks. But there are numerous holes in this team; starting with O line depth, RB, possesion recievers, OLB, safety, quality corners, special team play...

Wait a second, you say what happened in the NO game, but then dont give him credit for the ONE game? Looks like the NO game and the playoffs were 1 game each... I don't see how you can bash him for ONE game and not give him credit for ONE game.

  13. Yeah I heard that too. I don't like Ahman, he's fallen off the last few years.

But with Turner, I don't think the Bolts can ask for more then a 5th rounder if we match them because that's where they drafted him. I'm not really that sure, I'm not too familiar with RFA. But I doubt the Bolts will be that desperate to bring him back with LDT and with some talent in Darren Sproles.

Ahman actually isn't a bad back to pick up for a 1 maybe 2 year deal if we cant land Turner.

  14. The buzzer wouldn't indicate a touchdown, it would just indicate the ball crossed the line.

The official would still have to verify possesion and the td, etc...

RFID devices are tiny. About the size of a grain of rice. It can be done now if they wanted to invest the money into the research.

Yeah but another thing would be, where is the RFID device gonna be placed in the ball? You know those plays where only the tip of the ball crosses the plane? If the device isn't at that tip then it wouldnt go off.

  15. I was think of that before, but with the goal line. Maybe having an rfid device in the ball to setoff a buzzer when the ball passes the goalline. In addition to that, I'm sure there could be a device similar to gps that could accurately place the ball. Maybe that's the future of the game. That and robots that don't lose their cool and get stupid penalties.

A buzzer goin off if the ball crossed the goaline or out of bounds wouldnt work. Every time a pass, kickoff, field goal, or punt went pass the line, it'd buzz? I think the best it can get is the over head cam and sideline cams that are ground level.

  16. I see a lot of QBs going at the top of the draft: Oakland, Tampa, maybe Cleveland and Detroit, Washington, Minnesota, Miami, Houston...

those teams will all be looking for a big play receiver early on in the draft.

  17. Don't forget the two possesions back to back starting at the 50 where we punted from the 45-50.

oh and that great play call on 1st and goal from the 5, the middle screen to Tiki? WHAT THE FUCK i couldn't get over that play and still cant. Then on second you're gonna run a fuckin off tackle with Tiki? Jesus Christ someone fuckin shoot gilbride too!
