  1. OK Eminem, go back to listening to "Like Toy Soldiers"
  2. Green trade to Mets may be in the works By Jack Magruder, Tribune August 13, 2006 There are strong indications that the Diamondbacks will ask Shawn Green to waive his no-trade clause to facilitate a trade to the New York Mets, although Green said after Saturday’s game no such request has been made. The Mets asked the D-Backs about Green earlier this week, after he cleared waivers, sources said Saturday. While Green can veto a trade to a team other than San Diego, Anaheim or San Francisco, a deal to the Mets would reunite him with good friend Carlos Delgado, who was in Green’s wedding and played with Green in Toronto from 1993-99. “I’d have to consider it, if it is something that comes to fruition,’’ Green said. “There has been speculation all season. I don’t pay attention to it.” The D-Backs were close to a trade with the Mets for Scottsdale right-hander Brian Bannister over the winter, but it appears unlikely they could get Bannister this time. From the D-Backs’ perspective, a deal would be more about clearing right field for Carlos Quentin while gaining payroll flexibility moving forward. Green is due $9.5 million in 2007 and has a $10 million option with a $2 million buyout for 2008. Newsday reported that the Mets would want the D-Backs to pay half of Green’s 2007 salary and the $2 million buyout in 2008. While the D-Backs make it a practice not to include money in a trade, this might be an exceptional case, sources indicated. Green, hitting .284 with 10 home runs and 48 RBIs, did not start Saturday against Florida left-hander Scott Olsen. He pinch hit in the eighth inning. The Mets are short in the outfield after trading starting right fielder Xavier Nady to Pittsburgh at the nonwaiver trading deadline for Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez and placing left fielder Cliff Floyd on the disabled list with an Achilles tendon injury. They recently acquired Ricky Ledee.
  3. This is the GD one It's much better
  4. Quite a few players on our team will not be playing: Mchael Strahan, Barber, Snee, Shockey, Emmons, Arrington, Sinorice Moss, Visanthe Shiancoe, Brandon Short, Derrick Ward... Will Demps and William Joseph are banged up as well, not sure if they're playing or not

  6. The Washington Wizards will not match the New York Knicks five-year, $30 million offer sheet extended to restricted free agent forward Jared Jeffries last week, a league source told SI.com. Jeffries will become property of the Knicks on Monday. The 6-foot-11 Jeffries averaged 6.1 points per game in 77 games (all starts) with Washington and was considered one of the top remaining free agents on the market. Last week Knicks president Isiah Thomas -- who shares the same Indiana alma mater as Jeffries -- signed Jeffries to a frontloaded contract that included a lump payment of $6 million when he signs as well as a trade kicker. The writing appeared to be on the wall for Jeffries when the Wizards agreed to terms earlier Saturday on a one-year deal (plus a second with a player option) with free agent forward DeShawn Stevenson, a less expensive alternative who averaged 11.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 82 starts with Orlando last season. But I wish we were under the cap
  7. 31st July, 2006 - 6:17 pm MetsBlog.com - The Mets will trade LHP Oliver Perez along with RHP Heath Bell for Padres RHP Scott Linebrink. I know it's dead but I wanted this deal to go through
  8. It's not on the ESPNEWS ticker anymore FYI ht tp://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/transactions It says that we did but Omar says we didn't
  9. Bell has been bouncing all around this year, Norfolk today, Mets tomorrow and vice-versa. Good fastball but needs to be consistant.
  10. Yeah but he has a Heilman role on the team, long-relief and an emergency starter.
  11. Wagner is a closer and while Feliciano is doing fine, we need someone in the playoffs. Our bullpen is stable but we do need to add another southpaw.
  12. TSN.ca Staff 7/19/2006 4:56:31 PM The New York Rangers picked up winger Adam Hall in a three-team trade on Wednesday. The Nashville Predators dealt Hall to the Rangers in exchange for forward Dominic Moore. The Predators then flipped Moore and prospect Libor Pivko to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2007 NHL entry draft. Both Hall and Moore have salary arbitration hearings set for Aug. 2 in Toronto and those remain set unless they sign deals with their new clubs. The 25-year-old Hall had 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 75 games for the Predators last season. Moore, also 25, had 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists) in 82 games with the Rangers. The 26-year-old Pivko had 69 points (12 goals, 57 assists) in 69 games with Milwaukee of the AHL last season.
  13. Brian Leetch is a true Ranger. He grew up in this organization, is an All-Star, was possibly the best player in the 1994 Playoffs/Stanley Cup and he's a Ranger. He's more of a Ranger in my eyes than Wayne Gretzky or even Mark Messier. Leetch, Adam Graves and Mike Richter deserve to be part of the NYR. 2 down, 1 to go. The trade should have never happened. Yes we got Maxim Kondratiev (who we traded for Sykora who's as good as gone), a good prospect in Jaarko Immonen and a top prospect in Lauri Korpikowski but we lost was far greater than what we gained. BRING BACK BRIAN LEETCH!
