  1. .......Bonds beat'em to it!

    Story

It's called a "smokescreen", bud. They're not suing for libel, because none of the stuff in the book is untrue. They're suing because they say the authors obtained the information illegally, which is irrelevent in a discussion about whether these guys did 'roids (we all know they did).

  2. This is much to do about nothing. In a perfect world, everybody would be here for the workouts. This is not a perfect world nor is it for any NFL team in this respect.

This is not a big deal. That's why it's voluntary. They're big boys, they'll work out and be fine when it comes time to play football at camp.

I might agree with you here, HAmp, except for the fact that these two whined for the entire 2nd half last year, and have a history of being malcontents. Now I hear we're talking to Keyshawn? Yeesh.

  3. 3/20- "I have a new team. Both sides have pretty much gotten over it and it's time to get ready for a baseball season. I'm over it and they have to get over it". :LMAO:

3/21- "I'm really upset for Bronson. He should be able to become a free agent after this year, re-do his contract. This is what they were afraid of - his agent was right. I bought a house that I could not afford at the time, in Boston because they said, `We're going to keep you, we'll get something done real soon.' This was right after we won the World Series [in 2004]. Obviously, that never happened. After they didn't come to me during the [2005] season, my loyalty to them wasn't there anymore either. I felt the loyalty from them was gone.

Unfortunately, the loyalty of the fans always stays. You try not to be bitter through life, because I've learned you just shouldn't be that way. I've learned to accept it. I hope the [Red Sox] fans accept it, because now another guy they loved is gone.

The biggest thing that enticed me about the Yankees is knowing that Derek Jeter is going to be here five more years, [Alex Rodriguez] is going to be here five more years, Jorge Posada's going to be here. Bernie Williams is going to be here as long as he wants. I believe they're going to make a big effort to sign Gary Sheffield. Jason Giambi is here three more years.

That core is something that enticed me a lot. The core in Boston, unfortunately, is coming to an end. They have their plans, and they have their computers, and they believe that's right. Unfortunately, computers don't judge a person's heart.

Getting along with the younger kids and helping them along, unfortunately, computers don't [evaluate] that. As important as I was to that team, Billy Mueller was just as important. Kevin Millar was just as important. Certain players have numbers that might be sexy, but what's lost is when you get a good core of guys, it goes under the radar." :LMAO::LMAO::LMAO: :blah:

  4. Nobody asked for anything. If you pay attention, his post was also deleted. Now I'll kindly thank you for not doing this spatting again in my section.

This is the ultimate in ownage. Pud has to come on as another identity to protect his lifemate Motesay. Sorry, but I'm gonna choose to keep bashing him, thanks.

  5. Your "last post" was...

and it was directed at HYHC GIANT.

lol Did you whine like a Mary and have my posts deleted in this thread, or did you use your super mod powers to do it yourself? You really are my bitch, aren't you? Anyway, I'll say it again- looks like Ms. Motesay caught me in a real bad lie. It wasn't my last post in the Sox forum where I made him look like an idiot. It was two posts ago. I feel so foolish.

Anyway, Motesay can be excused for not really undertsanding the situation with Manny and the Sox. After all, he only jumped on the bandwagon two years ago.

  6. ...you pretty much have no choice. The red sox organization will pretty much let manny do whatever he wants.Makes the organization look like they have no backbone,ya know?

Yeah, but nobody in the organization cares what the perception is as long as he keeps producing. They know in the end they have him over a barrel, so let him vent all he wants.

  7. I'm a huge Sox and Manny fan, but only a goofball would believe his line about the hamstring and personal trainer. I get the feeling the hamstring excuse will probably rear its ugly head a few times this year, but I'll take the bad that comes with the good with Manny.

  8. Do me a favor, instead of constantly hanging out in Yankee threads looking for little things to comment on every day, go to the Sox section and author a well thought-out post previewing your team’s season. Let’s see if you can be the slightest bit objective and provide us with some valuable baseball-related information. While you know I love your witty jabs and commentary, I'm not quite sure you know a damn thing about baseball. So hop to it; let’s see if you know anything and allow us the opportunity to critique one of your posts in an intelligent manner.

C'Mon bro, you can't be serious. I'm a Sox fan, my job is to ruffle Yankee feathers. You're supposed to go to the Sox board and take shots at us there. There's really nothing to talk about right now with my own team. When something relevent pops up, I'll talk about it there.

As for me giving a detailed analysis of where my team stands, those are kinda dorky. The old "everybody's got their opinion" thing. Trust me, though, if you stay tuned, you will come to understand that I know my shit when it comes to baseball and my team (though something tells me you already know that), and I also know more about the Yankees and watch more of their games (I don't get the Sox) at any given time than at least 90% of Yankee fans.

  9. Link

    :TU:

Maybe you should change your name to Not_Smart.

So anyway, "da MAN!" went off in camp yesterday, screaming that they disrespected him by trying to keep him happy in an option year, and that they should rip up his contract and trade him. He da MAN!

  10. Yeah, Johnny's been saying a lot of things lately, still trying to convince himself he made the right decision.

Face it- it is killing Damon that he had no other choice but to take the Yankees money. He is very bitter that the Sox didn't offer even enough to justify staying.

  11. lol How is he "DA MAN" based on that article. Do you understand that meeting was strictly a preventative measure by Cashman to try to keep Sheffield happy while the Yankees let him play out the season before deciding whether they want him around anymore? He's so stupid, he fell for it. If he's so great, why aren't they picking up the option right now? 13 mil. ain't a lot to pay for a great player.

  12. I think that's pretty obvious...

Obviously not to everybody, otherwise we wouldn't be having the conversation.

His assesment of Cano on the other hand is strange. The kid is very good defensive first baseman, but he made tons of "rookie mistakes" last year that downgraded his overall season. If he concentrates more on fundamentals, he'll be very good.

I think Cano is a lot like Giambi (albeit more agile), actually, in that he can make the good "reaction" play, but is screwed anytime he has to think about it.
