  1. I said to my wife it would have sent a real message to plunk him right in the ass... especially after the meeting on the mound. Give them a big 'ol :Mauridia_01:

thats what I am talking about. Let them know you cannot live in glass houses and toss stones. Fuck em

  2. What he did tonight jawing at Utley after his bush league stepping out antics is one of the most exciting things I have seen in years from this time. Its high time the Mets show some fight and show those who do not practice what they preach that they are not taking it anymore.

Its ok for Victorino to dance like an ass or Utley to keep stepping out but all the Mets are hot dogs and non sportmen. Fuck them and I am glad Big Pelf let him know!

  3. I agree with Jerry yanking him after 88 pitches. We are going to need this guy much later in the season. If they just could manage to play a little better than .500 baseball, they should be in prime position when everyone comes back.

Anyway, which big bat do you think the Mets try to trade for? Or who would you like?

I think Holliday costs too much, but obviously he is the guy, although the Coors splits are scary.

I believe that you could get Carlos Lee or Lance Berkman. Probably could get lee as a salary dump in a deal for Oswalt as well, kind of like we will give you Oswalt for Fmart and prospects but you have to take Lee too. Bad ofer but can hit.

Adam Dunn I guess, but does not interest me.

Maybe Mark DeRosa, but does he have enough power and run producer abilities?

Josh Willingham might be cheap and I always liked him with the Marlins.

Aubrey Huff, whom I like a lot.

  4. Johan's missing something on his fastball.

He was very pedestrian tonight, I don't think Jerry should have sent him in for the 8th. I have the text to prove it

Johan is Johan, probably going through some dead arm...hes a 2nd half pitcher anyway and if he can get wins while struggling I am fine with it. He keeps them in games even when hes not himself. I think we have gotten to the point where a 4 run game is awful for him.

Jerry prolly should have taken him out, but 88 pitches is not that much. Good win tonight.

  5. Ok whats really unbelieveable is that in the same game, same inning no less Ryan Church actually got an XBH and Brian Schneider drove in a run, a real run driven in, where he actually made solid contact.

    Now thats amazing.....

  6. It's not like I should call for his head than I normally would because they wont fire him because they still owe Willie money. It just irks me why Murphy was not playing tonight.

Agreed, plus he has kept them afloat with some awful injuries and really a corner OF situation that makes the 2000 Mets of Agbayani and Bell look like Maris and Mantle .

  7. Murphy has looked good at first. He is still learning the position though. Jerry really confuses me why he would give him the day off. He needs to play everyday to get out of this funk and to learn the position more. They need another starter.

Jerry is a tad weird in how he sours on players. We know he hates Church and thats fine cause Church blows, but he trumped Murphy up so much this spring only to shoot him down now during his first ever prolonged slump. Like I said weird...

  8. Good point about SD and the fact that Norv Turner is a head coach in the NFL baffles me.

However, the rest of this is okay. I think 3 is fair. Our biggest question is our wide receiver corp and until further notice we shouldn't be number 1. Pittsburgh are champs, so they should be 1, and New England is a whole different ballgame with Brady and the Pats have made some nice moves in the offseason freshening up that team.

Glad to see they put the Jets at 20, that's all they deserve. Last year, every time the Jets won the coin toss they moved up 3 spots. The media is fascinated with the idea the Jets will make good.

Agreed and I also think 3 is very fair. Pitt is #1 for the same reasons the Giants were 1 last year, champions until proven otherwise.

The media does like this idea of the Jets huh? Was that more the fascination with Favre or the shittines the Jets have played under for the better part of 40 years?

  9. Santos is nothing more than a backup catcher, sadly neither is Schneider or Castro and he never wanted to be more than that so thus thats what he is too. It all adds up to a putrid catching situation. I will admit Santos the best suited to be the "regular" backup if for no other reason he seems like he actually wants to play.

You can talk all you want about the reasons why Ibanez has been terrific and toss cold water all over it all you want, fact is the guy has been one of the best corner Ofers in the NL this year, playing great defense and hitting the cover off the ball, hitting some homers that were no doubters no matter where they are. I can only imagine the euphoria if the immortal Ryan Church put up these numbers, of course I hope no one would be as stupid to throw assinine reasons as to why he did this up. Moot point though Church is not capable of that.

I dont know, maybe its me who hates Citizens Bank ballpark more than any park I have ever seen, but did they not win the WS there last year? Its only me who is impressed with Ibanez though. I mean he has only averaged 100 rbis a year the past 4 years, but hey, what do I know. Going back to 1992 the Mets have had a GRAND FUCKING TOTAL of 2 men drive in 100 runs from the corner spots, Bernard Gilkey and Cliff Floyd.....Churchy will drive in 100 ....if they expand the season to 678 games.

Maybe its just me, but sensibly talking baseball is kind of being objective about your team and the strengths of others.

  10. Although Francessa is a pompus windbag, his remarks on Santos were dead on. Mets fans(as usual) want to annoint him some sort of great player. Like Francessa correctly said, he is a 10 year minor leaguer, was CUT by the Orioles and the Mets have caught some lightning in a bottle. Castro is a POS that Manuel hated(showed you that in the Marlins game when he pinch hit Santos against Lidstrom back in April). Castro was lazy and many felt a bad influence. I believe it was blu that said on the Giants telecast they were killing his laziness behind the plate.

Those that want to stand up and take a bow about how correct they were about Omir Santos can do so, keep chucking shit on a wall and sooner or later some will stick. I will point out the obvious that the Mets catching situation is STILL MEDIOCRE AT BEST.

Since we are all patting ourselves on the back here I will now take my bow on Raul Ibanez, who might just be the NL MVP thus far, but hey we have 1 homer and 9 rbis from Churchy :TU:

  11. They are lucking out with some of the teams they have been playing too. The pitching

has been brilliant as of late, sans Redding's last two starts.

Redding has to go....why Omar signed him is beyond me. Cora is back this week and Reyes on a rehab. Looks like we got another amazing week from Pagan and he will be out a while.

Should we call the man named Martinez and I dont mean Ramon????

  12. Angel Pagan and now Maine has the same shit Beltran has combined with Reyes, Delgado...Mets are doing ok with the losses of so many key players...of course they also lost Ryan Church, but Jeremy Reed is as good a defensive replacement so ....

  13. although I love Nicks and think he will be good I cannot count on him to just yet do the things that Boldin does in terms of getting away from the jams at the line and his ability to run after the catch. Would I take him? Yes probably. What would excite me the most about this is that I would take him and then make Hixon my PR/KR full time long ball threat, where he is not on the field all the time.

It probably does not work and will not happen, but no mater how you cut it you just cannot say that Boldin does not make the Giants better.

  14. this clearly paves the way for the Omir Santos to Cooperstown inevitability. What we have here is they traded the least useful of a medicore bunch(personally I would rather see Schneider go).

Hopefully shitty Church is next, but then again most teams are set at the 4th OF spot.

  15. Perfection coming across some road bumps is one thing. Having two consecutive save opportunities blown is another. Lidge is looking more and more like a guy who has great stuff, but if you study it enough you can learn to beat it. And when your job is to get through an inning scourless and other teams know how to hit against you...well you know where that is going.

Lidge is good, I think he is tipping his fastball.
