Dude... I love ya BG but are you high or something? My argument is that Jordan Howard is a). Declining, as evidenced by his stats (which have gone down every year), and b). not a game-breaking player at this point in his career.
We've been talking RB stats this whole time... I'll bet you that his stats aren't as good as Barkley by the end of the season...why would I bet that the Giants end up with a better record? The Eagles are a year removed from a Super Bowl and the Giants haven't been good in seven years.
You never know? What if Wentz goes down in the 4th game of the season? Or Barkley? It's any one's guess at this point in the off season. Hell, I don't even know who our other RB is yet.
-
And you're entitled to yours... I'll stick with a reduced YPG, YPC, and overall rushing yards is "declining..." you can stick with "that's maintaining" or "improving" or whatever it looks like in Phily with green-colored glasses on.
Care to wager who has a better record at the end of the year? My Eagles and their declining RB or your Giants with their superstar RB? Seems like a lock for you if you believe what your typing.
-
Looks like a pretty good signing for the Eagles.
It's a solid choice. Now we just need 1 more RB and we are currently about 20 mil under the CAP.
-
He only had 1.5 less carries per game than 2017 and statistically almost identical to 2016. Even by your own metric he's on the decline. Tarik Cohen is not some monster player stealing his snaps... every team has a rotation of backs.
Also that video you posted is two years old. He's not that player anymore (at least by the numbers... I don't get to watch many Bears games out here).
I know that, and I've seen his stats for all 3 years of his NFL career, if you think he's on the decline, you are certainly entitled to your opinion... Even if you're wrong.
-
Im not ready to write off Howard. The bears didnt really use him the same way under the new staff. He might just not be the type of back nagy wants for his system
He's not great on the cut. He's a power runner who has a pretty good vision and a high football IQ. This is a pretty good run down on him

I don't think its the worst move ever, I just don't think its a very consequential move. Like you said, short yardage guy. Maybe he is a good pass blocker, but not sure how much use he'd get in those situations anyway.
That's the genius of the move. We only need him for 1 year and we got him at a bargain basement price. And there's no "maybe" to it. Dude knocks defenders on their asses when he's blocking.
-
The metric which measures how many touches he gets in a 4 rb roster ya goof.
-
He's pretty clearly on the decline. Numbers and YPC have gone down every year for the past three.
I don't think he's that good. The Eagles just traded a pick for Orleans Darkwa.
He's averaging 1000 yds per season. A little over 4 yards per carry with 2 fumbles in a 3 year NFL career. He's a power runner and we won't be using him for much more. His best asset to our offense is his ability to pick up short yardage runs and he's a beast of a pass rush blocker. Best part is, we can use him and abuse him all year and pick up a compensatory pick when he heads into FA next year. That's a win - win.

4 year contract, 5th year option.
Then he absolutely made your head case receiver expendable. Or THIS
-
Let's not forget the fact that Bell said he wouldn't play for the Jets with a 60 mil contract last year. I'm thinking the dude is a concussion risk and not that many teams were interested.
-
Maybe.
NFL salary cap goes up faster than our personal incomes. In 2016 it was $155 million and today it is $188 million. Still firmly believe that Barkley made Beckham Jr. expendable.
How long is his rookie contract for?
-
no, I think it was blondgreed.
I beg your pardon?
-
I said it then and I'll say it now - Tate is a damn good football player.
Wish we had him when he was 24 rather than 30, but still... I'll take it.
Still need a deep threat though.
Is it Corey Coleman?
Damn straight.
-
Blindgreed tried to prove to me what a great pickup he was for the Eagles last year. let's see what he thinks now.
I think the same thing I thought last year. Dude has good hands and hes big enough to take the hits as well as dish.
-
Never be another OBJ either but Getty don't give a fuck.
Atleast if we get Rosen the trend of goofy looking QBs is kept.
-
I think they came out and said it was all bull, they weren't looking at AB.
No Brown said he wouldn't show up if the Bills deal went through.
-
my impression is that its less them not liking Rosen and more the new coach loving Murray
This.
-
So... Does this mean Collin got paid? And so now it's not a thing? Did his "activism" have a price? Hmmmm....
-
that team was not the same without a healthy gurley. Boring fucking game
This...
-
Thats what I read, too.
Yet how many times have we seen it called? Here's what it comes down to. Every game has missed or bad calls. Every damned one of them. Your team has to put up enough points to overcome said missed or bad calls.
-
Well theres one fewer hated teams playing this year!
Aw... It's cute that you still hold a grudge.
-
Dee Ford getting called for lining up in the neutral zone was bogus. Is it a penalty, sure. But its the last drive of the game and from what I understand, in situations like that, the ref will give him a warning or ask him to back up. No game should be decided by a guy being lined up in the neutral zone on a play that it didnt even impact.
I disagree. He is supposed to be a professional football player. He plays a game for a living. Knowing where to line up is fundamental. He blew it. He should be called out for it.

2 OT games with multiple lead changes- awful!
Those two games were far more entertaining than the SB will be this year IMO.
-
Romo has now made it to more AFC championship games than NFC ones
Both games had some pretty shitty calls that changed the outcome of the game.
Eagles trade for Howard from the Bears.
