  1. Couple of things...wouldn't that contract average out to $3 million a year? And right now, the only way that kind of a deal gets done, is if Accorsie decides to make an offer, is if there is a new CBA deal in place. And while that might seem fair, with the influx of LB's on the market through FA, cuts and the draft, I think we could get a better deal for him, or for someone else.

To get the average you take the 15 million add the 5 million bonus=20 million/5 years=4 million per year average.

  2. That may be fair to you, but I doubt that would seem fair to Arrington. I know Arrington mentioned something about staying in the NFC, but take it with a grain of salt. And with the Poston's representing Arrington, whom the Giants do not have a good relationship with(I don't think), I'm inclined to think it just won't happen.

That contract averages 4 million a year. Thats not fair for a player who has had injury troubles in the past and hardly played last year? I think its plenty fair.

  3. Barber was a pretty good player when he was in Philly. But needless to say it is relieving, to say the least, that he most likely will not end up in Philly now. Only team in the NFC East with a need at his position is now the G-men. In my oppinion we should sign Arrington to a fair deal. In the 5 year/15million range with a 5 million signing bonus.

  4. Yeah I was going to throw in the towel. But last I checked Tye Hill's stock is through the roof and his picture is all over NFL.com. Its funny there is no mention of Cromartie. I'm such an idiot.

At this point I hope Hill is around at 25. We may have to trade up to get him at this point. Pizan we may not even have a chance at Hill at 25 but if he falls to us we better take him.

  5. :LMAO: That is by far the dumbest fucking post I have ever read.

You proved to me a few things in that one post.

    1. You think Im going to buy some shit like "i was talking about this other play" lol get real

    2. You never watched the game and tried to bull shit someone who actually did.

    3. You didnt comprehend anything that I said. You must of missed the part I said I wasnt judging on one play.

    4. You have no concept of how the Senior bowl is played.

Never once did I say Hill was a bad player or he will go undrafted.

Are you 12? maybe 11? You try to defend yourself and argue like you are. The best thing you couldve done was stay away from replying to this, you made yourself look real stupid.

Well if you watched the game. Explain how Moss won the matchup. He made one play in that game. It just so happened that one play was a TD. But what happened all the other times they were matched up? You say you are not judging Tye Hill on one play, but you really are. Because other than that one play, mention another play where Moss beat Hill(2 catches for 15 yards). :LMAO: Oh thats right you can't because he didn't make any other plays. As a corner, getting burned is going to happen. Its how they react after the play that concerns me. Obviously he reacted well considering he shut down Moss the rest of the time thay were matched up.

The Senior Bowl is like a pro bowl i understand that. They weren't matched up the entire game. But as starters they probably went against each other on at least 15 plays and he only gave up 1 big play. I consider that a victory by the corner.

The comment about not getting drafted was obviously a joke. But someone of your intelligence level obviously didn't get it. Obviously he will be drafted and be drafted in the 1st round.

You would rather draft a player coming off a major injury, has limited starting experience, and has been dominated in the combine and I'm looking real stupid. Sure, I'm the dumb one.

Honestly I could care less whether you believe me or not. During the combine today they were showing plays of a Senior Bowl one on one drill. And I thought you were talking about that play. If I was mistaken than so be it. But that doesn't change the fact that Hill would be the better choice at #25. Lets just say I'm extremely happy you are not the GM of the Giants.

  6. Did you see the play? Wait... did you even watch the game?? How did Moss catch a pass from Cutler when Cutler wasnt even on the same team??!!

:LMAO: Cutler played for the North, you shouldnt have commented or even tried to sound like a smart ass if you didnt even watch the game.

Moss had Hill 10-15 yards behind him. Brodie Croyle threw the ball into the endzone, Moss burnt the shit out of Hill to get it... I could have thrown that pass he was so wide open. That 4.3 speed really did a good job for him didnt it, so lets keep that in mind. And Im not judging on one play. He had an overall good senior bowl week. He practiced great, shuting everyone down. The big match up was Hill vs Moss going into the senior bowl. He obvioulsy lost, it just happened to be when the competition actually got tough.

lol, Now where did you get Cromarties 40 time at?

Oh and I got the 40 time from NFL Network which was live at the combine. I believe they probably read it right off the official time board that is in front of them. So because Moss beat Hill on one play means that he won the matchup. Not exactly.

Here are Hill's rankings as far as the combine events go:

    40 time: 1st 4.30

    Broad jump: 3rd 10ft 9"

    Vertical jump: 2nd 41"

    3 cone drill: 1st 6.63 sec.

    Short Shuttle: 3rd 4.01 sec.

    Long Shuttle: 2nd 11.17 sec.

Not a bad days work. Cromartie only ranked in 1 event and that was the broad jump where he finished 1st.

    Just for proof:

    40-yard dash

    Tye Hill Clemson 4.30

    Tye Hill Clemson 6.63

    Reed Doughty N. Colorado 6.66

    Jason Allen Tennessee 6.75

    Cedric Griffin Texas 6.84

Marcus Demps San Diego St 6.91

    Daniel Bullocks Nebraska 6.91

    Short shuttle

    Jason Allen Tennessee 3.81

    Kelly Jennings Miami (Fla.) 4.00

    Tye Hill Clemson 4.01

    Darnell Bing USC 4.07

Marcus Demps San Diego St 4.09

    Cedric Griffin Texas 4.10

    Tye Hill Clemson 11.17

    Daniel Bullocks Nebraska 11.22

    Johnathan Joseph S. Carolina 11.23

Nuff said. Hill is obviously the better athlete. Has more experience. And is 100% healthy.

  7. As of now, I want to draft him but not in the first round. However, if we are really intrigued with him but feel #25 is too high, we should trade down somewhat, possibly get some more picks, and then get Moss.

That's very good news btw, thanks for the update.

This is possible but I would want an extra second round pick to do it. Are there any teams with 2 2nd round picks?

  8. Heh, that link is from NFL.com, so there is some inonsistency. I saw another source that lists his official time a 4.49.

There is often discrepancies between the unofficial and official times, often large discrepancies. The fact that these discrepancies exists is even mor emotivated to place less emphasis on the meaning of 40 times as it relates to the merit of a prospect.

Yeah Cromartie ran the 40 2 times. 1st time he ran a 4.49 second time he ran a 4.58. Those were the official times reported by NFL Network that was live at the combine. These times are not good and definetly not of the 1st round caliber. I'm with you on the over rating of the 40 time but this is just a lack of spped at that point. 4.58 is terrible for a corner. AJ Hawk ran a 4.62. The slow 40 times and the fact that he is coming off a major injury scares me. No way would I pick him in the 1st round.

I was talking a play that they showed in the Senior Bowl drills. And I'm truely sorry if I made a mistake on the names. But the fact that you are judging Hill based on one play is laughable to me. And by the way Moss also runs a 4.32 40 and is also a very talented player. Checking Moss' stats in that game Moss had 3 catches for 45 yards and 1 TD. 30 yards came on that TD. So the rest of the time moss amassed 2 catches for 15 yards. WOW what utter domination of Tye Hill. Hill probably will now go undrafted because Moss burned him on one play. Get your head out of your A$$. Tye Hill placed very well in every event today. Not only can he run he has a 41" vertical. Na you what give me the slow guy thats coming off a serious injury that only started a handful of games on the College level. Good reasoning.

  9. I think this was implying drafting him in the 1st round.

I didn't hear the report. But I will be extremely pissed if we draft him in the 1st. Maybe they are trading up in the 2nd round to get him. Only time will tell. They also told Greenway and other top 10 picks that they really want them but that doesn't mean we will trade away the farm to move up and get them. Of all the WR's I do like him the best. He is so explosive and he reminds me of Steve Smith. But we just need to much work on defense. If we sign a CB,OLB,and a safety in free agency then I'm all for this plan. I guess its possible but highly unlikely. Only time will tell.

  10. Not only is he that fast but he is big as well

He's a little on the short side though compared to Shockey and Gates. I think he'll be a good player. But I'm not ready to put him on the level of the Elites.

thate because they hate Shcokey, I was merely very impressed by his workout numbers and his NFL network interview. Here is a guy that did not HAVE to work out at the combine and admitidly did so because he felt it was something that could only help him and improve his status. Look at the numbers and the overall attitude of the individual and "on paper"(as at this point its all one can do) he does look impressive. I really was impressed with his interview and his wanting to participate, to me if nothing else that portrays the starting point attitude of a winning player and I am sure many teams took notice of that, not to mention the speed and strength.

I like him too. But he is definetly being over hyped at this point. He has his weak points just like any of the other players.

  11. This is ripped off a post at Giants.com so i can verify the credibility:

"Driving home from work today, about 5:15p, Sinorice Moss was on. They were asking him about playing with his brother, and he said he would be ok with it, but would much rather be on his own.

He has met with 15 teams so far, and the the team that has shown the most interest, basically telling him they want to draft him..

    OUR NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS!!"

--- This fits w/ this plan that I have.....

Giants would be more than happy to draft him in the second round. I'm sure they want him. I want him too. Just not in the 1st round.

  12. Cromartie's official time ended up being 4.39.

I'll need proof of that because he is not on the list of top 40 times on NFL.com. That list goes up to 4.39 and Cromartie was not on the list. I watched the combine and I find it hard to believe that the official time and unofficial time could be off by 2 tenths of a second.

  13. Everyone is fixating on our receivers and paying any attention to how to get the ball in their hands.Have we already forgotten that our starting QB can't throw as demonstrated over the last 10 games of the season ??

We have much bigger fish to fry.

You are a complete moron. All Eli did in his 1st full season as a starter was throw for 3,700 yards 24 TDS 17 INTS and lead a top 5 offense to an 11-5 record, NFC East Title, and get us back to the playoffs for the first time since 2002. What more could you possibly ask of Eli at this point in his career?

  14. It's not that we need a third WR. It's that we are one injury away with Toomer or Plax being sidelined for 6-8 weeks, and Jamaar Taylor being placed out of nowhere at the #2 spot. Now, I am not against Jamaar but I think a guy like Stovall has better potential at #2.

You can say that about any position. What if Eli,Pierce,Shockey,Wilson were to get hurt. We'd be screwed. The injury arguement is no reason to draft a WR in the 1st few rounds. We are deep at WR. 2 quality starters and 2 quality backups in Taylor and Tyree(when resigned). We should sign a solid free agent WR and draft the best defensive player available in the 2nd round.

  15. Revival .... I don't think we're disagreeing on most of our points. If you read the whole thread you'll likely see that the extremist views and projections are coming from the trolls.

The NFL Draft has never produced a "lock".

I'm not disagreeing with you on Davis. I think he will be good. But the over hyping is definetly annoying from the troll section.

  16. Moss is a guy that burns a lot of people. I wouldn't judge Hill based on that play. Remember Moss also had one of the best if not the best college QB prospect throwing to him in Cutler. Imagine how bad Cromartie would get burned by Moss with that 4.58 blazing 40 speed. Keep that in mind. Hill also has a 41 inch vertical jump.

  17. I wholeheartedly agree that 40 times do not guarantee performance. But I'll also say that a tight end that can run a 4.4 is a major surprise. Davis rocketing up draftboards based on his combine is a yearly occurrence. Every year there are players who explode at the combine. Some follow it up on the field, some don't. Davis still has to prove himself regardless. But to slight him for where he attended college is as much a mistake as inflating him based on his running speed. As I mentioned before, Maryland was breaking in a new QB last year. A tight end can only have so much influence on his team's success. You're not really suggesting that people back off on Davis because his club went 5-6 last year are you? Does that mean Mario Williams shouldn't go top 10 because the WolfPack was a game over .500 and also played in the same conference? FWIW, Davis was already considered a first round selection. He just might go 10-15 picks sooner now.

Coming from a second rate football school(which is exactly what Maryland is) is the reason Davis' college numbers are so inflated. He was in an offense were he was the focal point. A school like Maryland doesn't have a large number of weapons. And like you said they were breaking in a new QB which means utilizing the TE more would make sense. But all in all this is not the reason I'm not as high on this kid as everyone else.

Obviously his 4.38 straight away speed is impressive. But a 40 time doesn't make the player. A TE usually runs short to intermediate routes where lateral movement is very important. He placed last in the cone drill and put up a time comparable to most lineman. And in the gauntlet drill his hands weren't as good as some of the other TE's in the drill. This is why I'm not as high on him as others here are.

I've seen film on him breaking tons of tackles in college. This type of thing will not occur nearly as often in the NFL. I'm not down on the guy nor am I suggesting teams look past him because of a 5-6 record(this statement was to show the state of the Maryland football program).I think he will be a good player. But I'm not ready to crown him the best TE prospect ever or the best TE to ever put on the pads. I just don't see how running a fast 40 can move a player up that many spots. The 40 time is so overated. The only positions I really consider this important for is CB's and WR's. Some team will draft him way to early or give up way to much to get him. And I for one am glad it won't be the Giants. Give me a proven player like Shockey any day of the week.

And once again I know he was already a 1st round pick but lets keep our heads here and not make him into some kind of a super hero. He's a talent just like all the other players that will be selected in the 1st round. But a lock he is not. The hype machine is at it again.

  18. When its all said and done, i bet he's a ram.

I think you have a point there. They are a TE away from having a ridiculous offense. That would be scary. But their defense would still suck. :LMAO:

Eagles also need Lbers and DL. The Eagles will need all their picks.

  19. I think Vernon Davis will go to a team that has needs other than TE. He's the type of player that a GM or coach will fall in love with and make a big draft day trade to get regardless of need. Obviously someone like the chagers wouldnt do it but the Rams or eagles... anyone who is not set at the TE position is a possibility.

It could happen. Eagles haven't had much success trading up lately(McDougle&Andrews) and they aren't loaded with draft picks like they were the last few years.
