Harry Truman had a sign that sat on his desk that said, "The buck stops here." Meaning, at his position, you don't pass the buck anymore. That's Reese's position when it comes to the roster. Yes, TC has input, John Mara has input, the scouts and Marc Ross has input. But Reese holds the job where you take the ultimate responsibility for the roster. That's his job, that's what he gets paid to do. He is THE decision maker when it comes to the talent or lack thereof on the team. And if he continues to give the next coach a weak roster, he will be next to be on the chopping block and he should be.

 

Personally, I hope that he has a lot more success in the draft going forward.

Coughlin cut Kendrick Ellis for Marcus Kuhn, he cut James Jones for Preston Parker, he played Andre Williams, he allowed Spags to play Dahl, I could go on

Coughlin has has a lot more say in personnel dicisions then many realize

You can't hire a guy like marrone and make him inherit Spags. You just can't. Mcadoo maybe. But if we get Payton he's gone be like fuck that and Payton wants nothing todo with Spags either.

Bottom line this is risky. Always risky when you fire a head coach but not the coordinators.

Honestly I see a little bit of Delanie Walker in Will Tye, we will see If Tye can live up to that comparison.

His run blocking is sub par at best and his pass catching skill set is among the worst I've ever seen. He looks the part but he does suck imo

Dude I'm sorry but Cunningham fucking sucks so bad. Definitely Imo one of the top 5 worst players on the active game day rosters this year. Agree with your main point tho. Donnell/Tye is ok, I'd add a nice blocking Fells type for Insurance and bring back Cunningham as a camp body.

Also the only danger in blowing a lot of our cap space on fat deals now to use Eli's prime is when it comes time to open the checkbook for Odell 2 years from now it'll be very tough making him the highest paid non QB instead of somewhat manageable.
