TOKYO -- New York Mets infielders David Wright and Jose Reyes will lead a team of major leaguers on an exhibition tour of Japan in November, MLB officials said.

Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies was also named as a member of the select team that will play five games in Japan from Nov. 3-8 against players from Japanese baseball.

Kenji Johjima of the Seattle Mariners and Tadahito Iguchi of the Chicago White Sox were also among the list of eight players named.

"We will have one of the best teams in the history of this tour," said Jim Small, managing director of Major League Baseball Japan. "Japan won the World Baseball Classic and we have a lot of players who want to prove that our league is the best in the world."

Small said the remainder of the major league squad will be announced at a later date.

They're proven major leaguers... I hope they don't get hurt.
