Lughead
January 22, 2009 The BC connection: Giants tab OL coach Jack Bicknell Jr., the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Boston College, is reportedly leaving to become the assistant offensive line coach with the Giants. According to a report in The Boston Globe, Bicknell is expected to be named to the post soon, possibly as soon as tomorrow. He reportedly wasn’t thrilled that he lost out on the head coaching job at BC after Jeff Jagodzinski was fired for interviewing with the Jets. And the Giants offered the job to Bicknell after they lost their old assistant offensive line coach, Dave DeGuglielmo, to the Miami Dolphins. Bicknell Jr., of course, is the son of the Jack Bicknell who coached at BC from 1981-1990. The elder Bicknell’s quarterbacks coach at BC from 1981-83? None other than Tom Coughlin, who also succeeded Bicknell Sr. at BC and has the head coach there from 1991-93.
