  1. Yes but they aren't paid the big bucks to draft busts or up-side players. I hate the bullshit of how players can move up several rounds in the draft because of potential. Teams constantly get caught in this bullshit notion that you draft the best athlete in your spot no matter what your needs are.

and alls you need to do is look right next door for a perfect example of this type of player.....the jets took vernon gohlston with the 6th pick.........just like vernon he was a hyped up pass rusher not because of the numbers he posted in college..........but because of his atheltic ablity and his work out.........it was said he needs to work on other phases of his game (sound fimiliar so far) but should be able to come in and rush the passer from day one.

    just saying

  2. Hell...if you look at past first round draft picks, half of them aren't even still playing football after a couple of years. We've gone with proven commodities in the past like Ron Dayne, William Joseph, etc., that did nothing more for the team than help empty the team's bank account. And that can be said about every team in the country, not just the Giants.

It's a crap shoot. No one knows what the player will do after becoming a multi-millionaire. Some back off the work ethic and live the good life. Others are motivated to be something special in spite of the money they suddenly have in their laps. Let's hope JPP is the type of guy who wants to prove himself on the NFL stage in spite of the millions he'll suddenly have.

JPP has an unreal athletic ability that could push him into becoming the very best player out of this draft. Let's hope he's highly motivated to prove himself and is also a quick learner. If he does both, he is going to be special.

impressed with the backflips are we?

  3. yeah, some months back, before we signed rolle i would have been happy with jones in the 2nd so im thinking its a good pick.

as of right now im most excited about linval joseph.

what pro would you compar him to comnig out of college?

  4. He is a two sport athlete who was already drafted by the Houston Astros to play baseball. No one knew 100% for sure that he would choose football over baseball. He convinced Reese and T.C. that he would dedicate his life to football instead of baseball though and the rest is history. I believe he would've been a first rounder if not for the risk that no GM wanted to take by blowing a high draft pick on a player they might never even get.

    But yeah....Jones was a steal.

that explains it....good info thanks

  5. jones in the third.

i think he is the steal of the draft.......very good saftey in college tons of up side....big fast and stong....not sure why he was only a 3rd round pick tho.

this does scare me however bc to me this means the front office is not sold on KP coming back any time soon

    jones

    grant

    rolle

    that makes three this offseason

  6. MRI's only take 25 mins at most, we can usually get a patient in from emerge and out the door within an hour and results are pretty much instantaneous with computers and such. If they truly thought it was a severe neck injury he would of been in the MRI room 5 mins upon going threw the emerge door and talking to a doctor about the results within 40.

And most teams carry extra equipment on gameday, atleast my highschool football team did.

what kinda coach would but a player in after that time of injury 10 minutes after being released from the hospitle?

isnt there rules againts a player going back intoa a game after an injury like that?

is it because it was a community college that those rules arent in place

  7. This sounds more like the script to a Hollywood movie than something that actually happened on a football field.

So in a 2.5 hour time span, he what.... hurt his neck on the (presumably) first play of the second quarter, was driven to the hospital, given an MRI, diagnosed, released, driven back to the game, given new equipment, then broke two fingers en route to recording three sacks on what... the last three plays of the game?

Anybody else know of a hospital that works that fast?

Sorry, but... my bullshit sense is tingling.

    :jerkoff:

im with you sounds a little strange.......i have never been in and out of the hospital that fast in m life....and we are talking little things here

this guy had a neck injury.....and he had all the proper test done and was realased and cleared with in a 2 hour span.......i call bs

  8. Hes not shown much of late.....Kiwanuka is a tweener.... not a LBer, and not really an all purpose DE too tall and slender

Perhaps the LBer thing slowed his maturity but I'm not a big Kiwi booster........apparently Jerry Reese has his doubts also

Osi is a malcontent gimp, we have no standout DTs

What was a sterling D in 2008 is now in transition

My only point is the scouts think JPP can lift his hand and go from 2 feet. is that a problem for you?

The bigger problem is no team leadership. Eli is a very quiet guy by nature. Harry Carson thinks the team lacks pride. Tuck said he saw the leadership void last year but kept his mouth shut as he could not play at a leadership level on the field.

This team is at an awkward phase....it could rise again, or slip backwards......nothing is certain about the Giants except the fact Steve Smith is an elite WR

All in all, right now Tiki is getting the last laugh.....He's escorting opposing RBs to Joe Carinni each spring- 2 yrs ago brian westbrook, this year tomlinson

I'm sure Tiki has a big Tom Coughlin poster hanging in his living room LOL

and an elite qb and a raising star opposite smith.....and a great big play threat in manningham to fill the slot.

so i guess what im saying is we ahve a great offense backed with a pathetic D

  9. I would of loved to get Hughes out of TCU, if we wanted a DE, he fits the Tampa 2 perfect(which is why the Colts drafted him) I think Washington will project more to a weakside LB, but he is capable of playing MLB, I also like Donald Butler out of Washington maybe we take him in round 3.

i really wish we traded down for weatherspoon

even if we reached and took him at 15 i would have been more happy with the pick.

i hope im wrong but i think thats gonna come back to huant us

    http://www.examiner.com/x-27428-Boston-Sports-Games-Examiner~y2010m4d23-Rookie-ratings-for-Madden-11

this didnt really come out already did it lol

    cant be accurate

phew madden has jpp as a 79 that means he is def gonna be a star if madden 11 thinks so

  11. Far from it, Sapp was a big DT who knew how to play the game. All Haynesworth will do is come in for acouple snaps every series and take up a spot that a real DT would do something in. I'd rather send that 3rd to the Raiders for Tommy Kelley, a DT who can stuff the run and put occasional pressure on the QB.

if thats the case lets take morrison for a 3rd instead

we still have that burning need at MLB.....he is more the expandable for the raiders now.

    at least he is proven

  12. I dont see the fascination for Haynesworth, the guy is a fat slob who at most plays 60% of the snaps in a game. He has zero worth ethic and he thinks he's king shit when in reality he's a piss poor player who doesnt do much beside run head long into guards. The guy has zero technique to the game and made out like a fucking bandit when the Skins singed him to that contract.

he is def worth it if you can get him for a 3rd rounder....which i think you could at this point

it would def help our 765,434,343 DEs......he does demand an extra body

  13. Yah, I don't get Nas' statement that Mclain was the only LB who made sense. Trading down for Weatherspoon would have been one of the better option. It's too bad CJ Spiller didn't fall to us, he also would have been a far better choice. Offensive Guard and the players that were available at 15 (Iupati, mainly) would have made sense. Hell, even DT would have made sense.

I seriously wonder about JR and the front office if they honestly think JPP was the 6th best player in the draft.

i really think after spiller an McClain flew of the board there was a bit of a panic moment for the gaints.....i dont really think they knew which way to go at that point...i would have been more happy if we moved up for spiller and i wasnt even excited about that idea either.....Weatherspoon was the best fit for the system fewell wants to run.....we could have traded down and got him.

so he can do a back flip while his in pads does that make him a top 15 pick???

and if not move down take a tackle there.....move dehil back to G and watch our Oline dominate once again

    i dont get the pick

  14. "Far from a project"????

He played 1 year in highschool, 2 years in college(one junior college). He's about as primed to play in the pros as you are. Not to mention he wanted to quit. Dude is a bust and flushed a high draft pick right down the shitter.

dude sounds a lot like vernon gohlston<sp

  15. Can't have too many pass rushers....yes, you fucking can. This pick blows hardcore regardless of how good he is. Unless, if and only if Osi is traded. If Osi is traded, then this pick isn't bad. That's a big if. Giants could have easily gone with Weatherspoon or a DT

one would hope there is some kinda method behind the madness here!!!

if osi is traded tonight we get another second and maybe third then you can justify this pick

  16. Why would Reese or anyone for that matter get an F for picking a first round caliber player in the first round?

We all agree our biggest need is LB... and the ONE LB who would have made sense was gone to Al Davis.. yea that fuckin guy. So we selected on the defensive side of the ball.. everyone agrees that's a :TU:.. then we realize our DEs were running out of gas last year.. Osi situation is up in the air... and Kiwi wants to be a starter... in other words.. we needed to pick the best player available and many believe this guy is.

    We pick 14th tonight...

im not ready to throw that F grade on him yet....he stil has plenty of time to turn it around......im just pissed that this was our pick at 15......if anything i realy think we should have traded down got a few more picks and maybe grab weatherspoon who i thought fit our D better then McClain in the first place.

the way the season ended last year you would think the front office would be after guys who are going to help us win now and not 3 years from now.....i see the reasoning behind the pick.....but that still doesnt make me a fan of the pick.....it is a must that we walk away from this draft with players that are going to be able to start this season and help fix the problem areas of this team.

osi was pissed b4 hows he gonna act now???

  17. lol good ol jack

im not crazy about this pick either to many other holes....i posted my opinion on this topic in what seems to be the main JPP thread.

oh the ignore feature how i missed you....and a spell check....now i wont have arrogant fools correcting my type-o's in an attempt to make themselves feel smart lol (to bad it doesnt work)

  18. I dont like the pick either....the player is fine....he might turn out to be a good one.....but he is a project and a reach as a top 15 pick...that makes it what 4 DE's we are paying serious money to.

Reese needs to finish this draft of strong or he gets an F in my book.....i know its still early on in the draft but we need to walk away with at least 2 STARTERS........after the year we had on D i cant believe he made this pick......JPP is not gonna see much PT this year.

another Dlineman? after we spent what 80 mil on the dline last offseason then had the 30th ranked d in the leauge......unacceptable.........second dc in two year.......what if this guy doesnt make an impact??? what if our D is more of the same from last year? are us fans allowed to start losing patience with JR? he need to rebond on day two IMO

  19. its been awhile since ive been over here.........for reasons i cant identify i went back to NYG MBs.....while im back here again....that place is out of controll and filled with morons.....no insight just ripping eachother....im sick of that nonsense....i rem this place being a lot better........sportswrath took all the good posters away from NYGMB a few years ago.....You guys all still here???

i see jacks name here....whats up jack?

anyway looking foward to talking to you guys again......im back and ready to talk to some real fans that actually know the game

    thanks
