  1. Because he will be one of the few good safety available. To be honest there is a very good chance Wilson will be paid big bucks somewhere else.

    exactly. 2 words- Adam Archuleta

but with a weak Saftey market we should cover any offer that comes Wilson's way

Do you wan to go into next year with virtualy 2 Rookie Safeties and James Butler?????? I think not

can't always have what you want

  2. While I don't agree with this I am assuming because we don't want to overpay for him.

I don't think he will command a price the Giants couldn't swallow. He is a starting veteran of many years and has played pretty good overall and at a high level these past couple games. I do agree with replacing Butler but Johnson (43) has made some good plays....I still think that pass interference against him when covering Driver was bullshit....and I personally haven't seen that many mistakes. Some say he bites on play action but I haven't seen it....but will be looking.

I'm a Fin fan and even I know that Butler needs to go. That's the reason, because its such a weak safety class. Gibril is easily one of the top 3 available, will command more money. Supply and demand my friend, supply and demand.

Last season- limited supply of linemen- Steinbeck, Dielman, and Dockery all got 49 million dollar contracts. And while we can all agree O-lineman are crucial to any team, that price is absurd.

  3. I am the eternal optimist when it comes to team loyalty (that douche Tiki tricked me) so I hope he sticks with the team. Maybe we do need to go for a safety....that is just such an important position for a rookie to hold down. Last line of defense, generally speaking the captain of the secondary...I would prefer keeping Wilson to inserting a rookie but like you said the money could be too costly.

    haha, tiki. good times.

I basically agree with what you said, but sometimes you gotta put down the kool-aid and prepare for the worst. Weak S FA class=big bucks and I can't see the Giants competing too much for his services. Surely if the price is right he will return to NY, but look for the Tuna to make a move

  4. I can't stand all this crap about how eli should be replaced, its ridiculous. If Phillip Rivers wasn't playing so good out in SD right now, this would not be as big a deal as it is.

The way I see it, Eli is really the scapegoat for the team, much like Joey Harrington was for the Lions the past 4 years.

Let's look at some of the Giants problems

The defense has sustained way too many injuries. While they are still plaing solid, the list is far too long

Tiki has been underused lately. When you have a hall of fame RB in ur backfield, u have to use him in the running and receiving game often

Petigout is out on the Oline. Protection breakdowns give Eli less time to think which makes any QB make bad throws

And finally, Eli is in his third year as a pro QB. Obviously he's "regressed" the past few weeks, but thats what happens to young QBs. They make mistakes and make a few bonehead plays. They develop and grow into good players thogh. Also, people expect him to be Peyton. Well, here's a little fact. Eli is not Peyton Manning, nor will he ever be Peyton Manning. While I believe he will develop onto a great QB, no other active QBs can be put in the same category as Peyton, so the comparison needs to stop

  5. u can't really blame him can you?

The guy completely bombed in Detroit for 4 years and now he gets to start over in Miami? Not only that, but he won the biggest game of his career (before the thanksgiving feast of the lions). While I'm not saying he should be a hardass, give the guy a break. He's finally found a niche

  15. If I'm up to date in my Madden season, I'll play the game thats going on that day. So September 7, I'll be playing the Steelers. I wore my Jason Taylor jersey last year, but this is the year of the orange Daunte jersey. Other than that, gameday is pretty normal cuz i don't get to see many games :(

  16. There was an abundance of 1st basemen at the time, and Thome was kicking ass. You also had Papi. Pierzinsky may be the premier catcher in the AL, and he took home a WS ring last year.

your kidding right? Pierzynski premier, my ass.

To go along with your argument, the AL also had Mauer and Pudge on the team.

Also in that final ballot vote were Paul Konerko and Justin Verlander. Although Hafner is better than Konerko, Paul still deserved it over AJ, and Verlander is a candidate for not only the rookie of the year, but also the Cy Young.
