  1. I think next off season is going to be one interesting little Snyderfest, trying to patch up those weaknesses. after watching last night and the crowd reaction, he's got to be salivating at what next. He's got the perfect coach for that offense, he's got an excellent one two punch on offense and he's watching this sitting next to Brian Orakpo and Fred davis for the rest of the season. Honestly, I don't like to overeact, but that last night could be the dawning of a new day in the East. Reese is going to have to go hard on some linebackers that can go north south in a hurry, we don't have them now that's for sure.

Agreed. The Giants defense needs to be built from here on with the purpose of stopping Griffin, at least for the immediate and probably significant future. They have to get faster and more athletic. Philadelphia is in transition and Dallas is Dallas until they can show everyone they're capable of coming up big when they have to. The Redskin games will be the biggest games on our schedule now.
  2. I don't think it's gimmick offense... I think it's high risk high reward. I mean the ball bouncing like that and no one drops it or fumbles it is a thing of beauty... it's a matter of time before that backfires... and keep in mind RGIII is getting hit out there... at his age he won't feel them but he will a few years down the road when he's older and slower. Vick was invincible at some point too.

Yeah it's a lot of punishment. Look at how effective Vick was in 2010 after 3 years away from the game. It caught up to him already. Griffin can throw the ball well so at some point I'd expect them to move toward a more standard style offense. They should anyway to keep Griffin healthy.
  3. Yeah I'm with you . This was one of if not the biggest game for the Redskins in years. It was their night. Granted, we helped their cause with sloppy play and inefficiency but they did enough to win the game. I wish the Giants could make things a little easier on themselves once in a while but thats kind of like having a first world problem for a fan. Next week IS a must win though. Saints defense stinks, they're all but eliminated from playoff contention, and we're home. They're very vulnerable. If we can't beat them this time we never will.

The Mook is the best we have. Dude can tackle. I think he ought to coach others in tackling

Yeah he played well. He's going to be a good one it's looking like a steal considering how far he fell in the draft.

I don't understand how teams can't figure out a college style offense.

He runs it really well apparently. We've seen it twice now and they were able to get big chunks of yardage and had our d line guessing both games. Maybe that's an indictment of our defense but I'm not going to rip the guy until we can stop him. As the defiler mentioned we could probably use a bigger , more consistent force up the middle and we definitely need a sideline to sideline linebacker that can at least try and contain the edges and limit the big gains. Its a different NFC east now and the games against the Skins will be the biggest ones. Once they get a competent defense it's going to get even more difficult.
  6. The Giants could afford to lose this game so they did. As a fan it's really fucking annoying but it's who they are and it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. Too many penalties obviously and our red zone inefficiency cost us again(1st and goal from the Pittsburgh 4 stands out). We're lucky Tynes has been so good this season.

  7. Bryce Brown looks pretty good. If I was an Eagles fan I'd be hoping for a defensive minded coach and institute a ball control offense centered around Mccoy and Brown. I think the defense needs a lot of work but if they make a commitment to running the ball and call high percentage pass plays for Foles, theyd be in a lot of games.

  8. He's our best option and always has a chance of taking one to the house I'd hope they keep him there. I could be wrong but I don't think the Brown injury will automatically lead to a ton of more carries. The coaching staff has been pretty adamant about the necessities of learnimg blitz pickup. If anything, we might see even more Bradshaw and more passing. Gilbride will probably enjoy that.

  9. He got arrested for firing a gun off next to a guys head a couple of years back. Considering he sounds like a jackass and there isn't a whole lot of time to learn a new system I don't know how much he could help. On a side note the Raiders really have a knack for fucking up their draft picks.

  10. I saw this coming last year--only the win streak at the end of last season saved Reid's fat ass. 2 years running? They have to blow it up--too much money for too little success. Wouldn't be shocked if that whole secondary goes, too.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Nnamdi let go and I think Rogers-Cromartie's contract is up. Hopefully they suck for a few years. It's been awhile since we haven't had to worry about them.
  11. I think they'lll let him finish the season. They ought to at least. He helped Laurie make a lot of money with all the playoff appearances. I know Reid went stale there but the Eagles were always in the playoff mix just about every year. He's probably the best coach they've ever had. Whoever they bring in will be under a shitload of pressure.

  12. LOL Cobb said that their care level just wasn't there last night. Bullshit this game had Playoff implications that could effect either team down the road. Now we own the Tie breaker. If we meet again they will have to travel back to Giants stadium.

Care level? I'm sure Packer fans like hearing that. The Packers offensive line was exposed last night and our offensive line dominated in both run and pass blocking. The Giants are just a very good team when they're controlling the line of scrimmage. I wish we would see it more often but at least they've been able to do it against 2 of the best teams in the NFC.
  13. Next week will be a tough game. The Redskins have played well the last three times we've seen them so I'm expecting a struggle. That said, if the Giants can get the win it's a clear path to the division. Certainly feels a hell of a lot better to be looking at this game with the Green Bay win in the back pocket.

  14. I'm ok with how everything is playing out. Dallas was going to shit the bed at some point anyway. It just makes the Monday nighter against the Skins the biggest game of the year. If we beat the Packers awesome, but winning the Washington game is the key and if the Giants can do that I think we'll be fine. That's a must win game though.

  15. Cleveland is shaky. They stink. If they find a way to win this game it's a huge bonus for us. Thursday will be interesting either way now with the Redskins winning today. The Giants just have to take care of their games because if Dallas and Washington are 5-6 after Thanksgiving it could be a real fucking problem. Dallas just went ahead dammit.

  16. I think not having a consistent, effective ground game has finally caught up to this team. Last season Eli completely carried the offense, winning some games that we otherwise wouldn't have if he wasn't playing at such a high level. Now he's having one of his worst stretch of games in years and these are the results. Until they can get teams to respect the run we're probably going to see a lot of the struggles continue. It's definitely hurting the receivers ability to get separation and open things up downfield.

  17. You know, I think Webster still has the talent to be a very good corner. If you ask me, I think Webster is mailing in this season because he's content. He got paid, he has two rings, and he's not willing to make the sacrifices necessary to be great anymore. He's just not hungry anymore. He's letting guys go just assuming safety help, as he did on the first AJ Green TD. It's like the thought process was, "I have safety help back there, so I can just give up on this play right now."

It's time for the coaches to start sending a message. Some players need to be sat down. New thread time.

That could be the case Jim. He's not the only one either. Tuck, Osi etc. These guys are great Giants and they've accomplished plenty but at least from what we're seeing they're resting on their laurels a bit. Other teams with the pedigree and resume the Giants have don't have games like this as frequently as we do. It's hard to complain too much with 2 Super Bowls in 5 years but it'd be nice to not have a frantic second half to make the playoffs and just display more consistency. On topic though I thought Prince played a good game. Solid tackling and he was right on the receiver or the ball just about every time.
