  1. Trade him to the Niners for the 9th pick and their first next year if they want him. I dont want to give a wide receiver 100 million dollars and while theres no actual evidence he even said or intends to do it, I could easily see him holding out. Shame this is where were at hes the best player on our team and well liked by his teammates but i think you either pay him and live with it or cash him in. I know he can be franchised next year and the year after but I see that as kicking the can pay him or move him.

  2. The off field issues are way overblown. Theyre kind of annoying, but hes never had a bad word uttered about him inside that locker room and while hes perceived as another diva wide receiver, he doesnt play like one. He blocks and puts his nose in when he doesnt have the ball. This is completely an economic and cap situation to me. Unfortunatey, the Giants have zero leverage here. We either pay him and commit nearly 20 million in cap space annually to a wide receiver or trade him for a net loss and hope we draft quality players with those picks. Basically, this blows. We will be much, much worse offensively without him.

  3. I wish the idiotic crap would stop coming out every few days and the talk would be about whether we want to pay a wide receiver 100 million dollars. Nobody in the locker room has said one bad thing about him and thats important. I dont think hes a bad guy either hes a legitimate superstar and I think he forgets that sometimes. If they trade him though I wont lose sleep over it. Elite wide receivers usually dont win you anything.

  4. Meh, Bennett is an asshole. His brother is a jerkoff too. All of that said, what was the upside of having a 66 year paraplegic woman there in the first place? I can think of a lot of downside and getting hurt was one of them.

  5. Nothing wrong with Chubb at 2. Get a cornerstone 3-4 end with the very small chance hes a bust. I like the security with that pick. We need a pass rusher Vernon and Pierre-Paul will become cap casualties by the time this team is even close to ready again.

  6. Whatever, I havent wanted to pay him the entire time this doesnt change anything. The bullshit is annoying but Im not judging him on that. I had my fun at his age and hes a sports superstar under constant scrutiny I have no idea what thats like. I just dont think the wide receiver is a winning position and with our cap situation its a luxury we cant afford. Give the money to Collins and find a wide receiver in the second round next year just need to pick the right guy.

  7. Browns are going to take Barkley and we will have to make a decision on one of these quarterbacks, which will likely be wrong, if only for the fact teams rarely follow up a franchise quarterback with another one. The odds arent good.

  8. Before burress shot himself we were averaging 29.5 points per game which wouldve led the league if it stayed that way til the end of the season. It dropped to 19 points per game after we lost him which wouldve been good for 24th in the nfl over a full season.

In 2008 we were 10th in defensive dvoa, 5th in points allowed and 5th in yards allowed. We actually allowed less points than we did during the previous Super Bowl year. And lord knows how many points were allowed during garbage time since we were dropping 30 on everyone. That team was steamrolling its way to another super bowl

Giants were the best team in football that year. Without question the most dominant team of the Eli/Coughlin era. Blowing out good teams and running the ball at will. Their only loss was to the Browns on Monday Night Football which is typical. The Burress shooting of himself killed all of it. You should never have confidence in a repeat but they had a legitimate chance.

A third round pick isnt that big of a "high" draft pick, since by that point in time it's just a crap shoot, I mean if it was the Giants everyone would be saying "JR doesnt draft good third round players so who cares?"

The Redskins are stacked at CB surprisingly, losing Fuller is probably gonna not have any impact on that defense, they need a competent front seven.

Smith is a bridge, they don't need to worry about Cousins who was horribly exposed this year and is going to get the same contract from another team and people are kidding themselves if they think Cousins isnt going to get a 80+ million dollar contract from some desperate team.

They could still pick up one of these QBs who are gonna fall and let them sit behind Smith instead of forcing the kid to play early, and if anything they have dodged a bullet with how Cousins has looked, the guy cant win games when it matters and he cant hit an open WR to save his life.

The third rounder can escalate to a first from the little I've read.

  10. Fuller had the lowest passer rating allowed from the slot this season according to pro football focus. So the Skins sent a high draft pick, a potentially great young corner, then paid Alex Smith a ton of guaranteed money. They're the Browns with lipstick. Makes the whole franchising Cousins because they couldn't agree to a deal look even worse.

Agreed... JPP doesn't exactly suck but like you said isn't scaring anyone either..

When you think about what he's being paid and the fact he has to wear a clubbed hand due to missing fingers he sucks. I feel bad for him because accidents do happen and I'm sure he's trying his best but Reese could have just paid Hankins and kept the middle of the line with Harrison intact and still saved money.
