  1. as much as I can't believe the Saints are for real (like that), I can't believe how badly we played.

My hats off to the Saints. This loss makes me take account of what we are and aren't. I will have to see us handle good teams again and until we meet again, my doubts will linger.

It's a long season and anything less than playing your Saints again would be a bummer. For what it's worth, I estimate the Saints would decimate the Vikings and so unless there's injuries or let down by the Saints, I don't see another team drilling them.

The Saints line and Brees' vision is something to admire.

  2. all is not lost. If you recall, the first two games of Spags life as our DC didn't exactly go smoothly...a lot of zone coverage and we we're still in bend don't break mode.

This was our D's first big test and we blew it; it was also our DC's first test and I was unimpressed.

We'll move on from it and learn. I would rather learn this lesson now and adjust then learn on the fly in January and stew over it all off season.

  3. No, you were right, you are a nut job. 1 out of every 30 posts are amusing though.

    This one is just goofy.

Show the Dolphins and Sparano doing anything in terms of SB's or playoff wins and I'll be happy to adopt the gadget play mentality. Of course, that becomes predictable too.

I think we're just fine perfecting our game as is rather than think we need to play with the Wildcrap or anything else too often. That's not to say that a pitch pass kind of thing hasn't helped ala Simms against the Broncos, but I'm not about to lose a game on a direct snap on a fake punt...not while we're winning.

A little deception is good, but when I see TC, I don't see a coach that looks like he believes in the old Bomarooski or Statue of Liberty.

  4. This all depends on our D strategy, if you push Brees, he throws quickly, so I would give them the short underneath, trust in our D line pressure and not give up any deeps. It's clear Brees handles pressure pretty well and blitzing leaves too many of their weapons open. I expect them to deploy Bush like Philly uses Westbroke...as a receiver so we have LB coverage.

Count blitzing out, we need front pressure and so we'll just see.

As for our O against their D, I'm not worried.

  5. a classic loudmouth, not a classy guy. Many no name teams are the best. We are a unit, he is an island.

I admired his pluck, but Shockey is and always was a divisive force for us, the opponents, etc. The problem is that he believes that he is the center of the thing.

I thank him for some big plays and I regret that he dropped some very catchable balls (like in SF) and that I own a Shockey jersey that I should have shipped to a third world country.

  6. Moss is just not working out as a pro. He's had enough chances. I'm not sure I wouldn't just call someone else up and put him out on the practice squad. He's nothing but speed, but he only seems to race off to the sidelines.

  7. Though I was raised a Parcell's guy; I believe I may wind up a Coughlin guy. Hard to imagine for the near 40 crowd that grew up on the 80's, however it is entirely possible that this is our golden age with the Giants. having lived through the Dave Brown era, I can honestly say that I thought this day would never come.

Even after the SB against the Ravens, I thought we'd never be tough again. It all started with EA picking the right coach and him finally getting the right DC.

  8. The critiques of Brandon are based in truth, but his size is also a limitation for how he gets easily recognize between the tackles and needs a TE or pulling guard to break him free on the outside. He's quick when he gets to the seam.

Rather that assume that he's got a "problem," I expect we'll see some correction to the playcalling. On the other hands Brandshaw is good between the tackles where he's easily lost; same thing with Tiki back a few years.

I think that we do show some cracks in our running game this year thus far, but then again, teams specifically were crowding the line before; we should be seeing a lot of that lighten up with the emergence of a meaningful passing game.

  9. In the 30 seconds that I've put to "who is JackStroud really?" I believe I've come up with the belief that he is not a he, but an it and that it is really a computer that spits out dumb shit once or twice a day as programmed.

Nobody could be that dumb; it's impossible to be that ignorant and still have a brain functional enough to continue reminding your lungs to breath.

It is sad that I've responded to some of his threads. I like to think that the Jackonater2000 is a machine that reminds me how our worst fan is like the average Philly fan in dogging his team and then creating false hopes around the powerhouse that is Chase Blackburn.

  10. I see Moss has disappeared into the night again, no contribution whatsoever and he's the first guy who's small and fast who doesn't get lost in the crowd like Tiki or Bradshaw. I'm ready to part with Sinorace anytime, he stinks. We don't even use him or have success with him running 9 routes all day: bummer

  11. I think we should cut Nicks to make room for Amani. Nicks only did shit in preseason against 2nd and 3rd team defensive backs. Plus, Amani is wise... wisdom comes from old age. These young receivers need some wisdom so they can catch the football better.
