  1. That's exactly what I am trying to say. There is aggressive and then there is reckless. What happens if the Giants lose the SB by 2 points? Then everybody will say that Coughlin made the worst coaching decision in a SB, ever. There is no need to panic on your first drive. If you lose by 4 points then the Pats did better and deserve it but if you left 3 points on the field and lost then it's a major fuck up. The risk is too great.

Well, based on what I know of TC and BB, BB is much more likely than TC to go for it on 4th and short. But the Giants are going to have to take some chances to win.

  2. Are the Patriots the greatest team ever....even with a trouncing on Sunday, not everyone will crown them with that...but a good case could be made, given the point diff, the number of blowouts, and a perfect season. Not to mention they will have won 10 games against teams with winning records. The 72 Dolphins on the other hand only played 5 games against teams with winning records.

Few people outside of S. Fla view the 72 Dolphins the greatest ever. The went undefeated but they did not dominate the way the 85 Bears did or SF with Montana or the Steelers of the 70s.

  3. \ The scoring momentum isn't going to phase the Pats but it can hurt the Giants.

Momentum?? What fuck is momentum? How many points do you get for a momentum? Scoring 3 points ain't gonna win the game, you need 7. Take the 3 and Eli goes home with a "respectable loss" Roll the dice on 7 ya might get a win, or get your ass kicked.

FG is playing to cover the spread, TD is playing to win.

Bolts scored 4 times, Patriots scored 3 times. Bolts are watching the SB on TV.

  4. Fake to Jacobs who bangs hard to the right pushing the pile, Eli sneaks to the left with the ball.

Come out with an onside kick.

Nobody has slowed down the Pats offense when the wind has been below 20 MPH. If the Giants don't score 7 in the red zone they lose. Giants can't be afraid to take risks. Take risks and Giants have a shot at winning and a chance of losing by 40 points. Don't take risks the Giants best case is lose a close game. And given the way the Pats offense scores, starting field position doesn't really matter go for the onside one time when the Pats would completely not expect it. If you recover huge boast. Blow it and the Pats have 20 yard better starting field position. (or one pass to Randy).

  5. We came close the first time. Beat them for 3 quarters.

This time, we just need to make it 4 quarters. :)

Yup, in order to beat NE you need to play 60 mins, not 3 quarters, not 55 mins.... Ravens, Eagles, Giants, Colts...b/c the Patriots play for 60 mins even if they are winning by 40, but especially if they are losing.

I would say Giants were the second closest to getting a win, Ravens were the closes.

But honestly I think the score was a little closer than the game play really reflected.

Giants got 7 points because Moss & co celebrated Moss tying Rice's record and Brady tying Peyton's. (Don't count on that happening again)

  6. You sound just as sure as Cowboy and Packer fans sounded.

Well, the Giant fans who believe that the upset of the year is upon us sound just like the Jets, Chargers, Bills, Bengals, Browns, Cowboys, Dolphins, Redskins, Colts, Bills, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers, Jets, Dolphins, Giants, Jaguars, Chargers fans all of whom thought their team would end the perfect season...

:P Just hav'n fun with ya....

  7. Pretty big limb.

You like to live dangerously, huh?

Well, I am less certain of the Manning family history as I am of the outcome of SB, which will be that for the third time this year a QB named Brady leads his team to victory over a team whose QB is named Manning.

  8. He gets no credit from me anyway.

    He named his son Eli.

Yeah, I know it was prior to the Green Bay game. But he wouldn't pick the Giants to beat Greenbay. (which by the way I did). But he did say that who ever won the Greenbay-Giants game would lose to the Pats.

Based on how well the Pats play, not dumb football anaylis based but really sucky being a dad.

Also have you seen him at all this week..... I have seen some clips.... It is all stuff like this...

Q: "What do you think of Eli against the Pats?"

Archie: "It was really assume that Peyton won last year, we we all really proud of Peyton....Peyton.....Peyton....Peyton...."

I have never seen a parent with more blatant favoring of one child over another. Hello, McFly, you are suppose to at least pretend you love all your children equally.

Tiki is just bitter that the team is better without him than with him, and jealous. I see him as the equivalent of Don Shula for the Pats. An attention getter has-been.

    But Archie is 100% asshole.

  9. I guess Fitzy puts to rest the idea that Boston fans are classier than NYers and drink wine all day.

The author in of that piece in Herald is an idiot, she does not represent New England. Real fans will be drinking Sam Adams, not wine and cheese.

Fitzy is kinda funny if you are a Pats fan. But he doesn't travel well.

My favorite of his line is "Our defense is ready, willing and Vrebal."

  10. Speaking of Randy, did anybody else hear about the chick he slapped got tickets and full paid expenses to the game? Supposedly if she is in attendance, he cannot play because it violates the restraining order.

    ---link---

She would be arrested. POP work both ways. She can not go to his place of employment, to disrupt his work.

  11. Are you never again going to step up, be a man and act like you spent you entire professional career with the GIANTS?

Matt Lauer askes Tiki to "go out on a limb" and predict the score for Sunday.

Tiki replies "I have no idea".

    WTF?

Can't you even act like you are rooting for the GIANTS?

    Loser. :brooding:

  12. Traditionally, white uniforms are "home" and dark uniforms are "away".

However, I think in the NFL (correct me if I'm wrong), the "home" team gets to pick which Jersey's they'll wear.

I've been following "media day" (for 3 days on NFL Network), and the Giants are always wearing their white jeseys with red stripes and grey pants and the Pats are wearing dark blue jerseys.

I am assuming that's the colors that'll be worn for the game, even though the Giants are the "away" team and wearing "white". It probably has to do with the Pats having the option and choosing their blue jerseys. I'm speculating so don't stop from correcting me if I'm totally off base.

Actually most teams wear the dark uniforms at home. Miami wears white at home, b/c they feel it gives them an edge in the heat.

  13. Don't do that man, quote a multi-paragraph post. More unnecessary scrolling.

This is how I view it: Tiki was a great player. He was a bit loose with the mouth, but at the time I agreed with him.

I understand that as soon as he retired and took on a job with NBC he was being paid to be an NFL analyst, not a Giants spokesperson. But the maliciousness that he showed towards TC and Eli....it was overboard. That is what I personally and I think many other Giants fans are really disappointed with. The way in which he characterized the two....unnecessary. That is what has ticked off a lot of people.

I know I am wrong, but as a fan if a player has spent his entire career with one team and done amazing things with that one team, then that player should respect the team. His comments did not show respect at all.

There is some middle ground between being a total homer, like Dan "I predicting the Dolphins to upset the 14-0 Patriots" Marino and Tiki "The Giants will never win a game without me" Barber.
