  1. I am not saying you are wrong to be upset, its just when you think of things like I mentioned it keeps it all in perspective.

yeah you're right. and besides I probably wouldn't have cried if I wasn't so drunk!

  2. I cry when I see young men 19 years old on CNN coming back from Iraq in body bags. I cry when I see families in the Gulf region devastated from Katrina. I do not cry over a sporting event.

well call me a cry baby....cause I cried. :cwy:

NFL fines Giants' Pierce $12,500 for hit on Vick

    By Len Pasquarelli

    ESPN.com news services

New York Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce has been fined $12,500 by the league for his late hit on Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick in the closing minutes of last Sunday's 27-14 victory over the Falcons. A league spokesman confirmed the fine, first reported by Newsday, on Friday afternoon.

The fine was anticipated, since Vick clearly was out of bounds when Pierce hit him, and because the Giants' star linebacker all but admitted after the game that his action came in retaliation to the cut-blocking that he endured from Atlanta offensive linemen throughout the contest.

"They beat me up pretty good," Pierce said of his treatment from the Falcons' offensive linemen. "They can thank themselves for that, and I can thank myself for knocking out Vick."

Atlanta one of several franchises in the league that employ the cut-blocking scheme, which was essentially created by longtime offensive line coach Alex Gibbs, now a consultant on the Falcons' staff. The cut-blocking scheme, which Gibbs first introduced in Denver, is despised by defenders leaguewide because of the potential for injuries, especially to the knee.

The play for which Pierce was fined occurred with 1:02 remaining in the game and the Falcons facing a third-and-10 from their 23-yard line. Vick scrambled to his left and up the sideline for 17 yards, then was hit by Pierce while several feet out of bounds. Several Falcons players jumped from the bench and surrounded Pierce, while Giants players came to his defense. There was some pushing and shoving, but no punches were thrown.

Pierce, who finished the game with an uncharacteristically low one tackle, was penalized 15 yards for a personal foul, moving the ball to the New York 45. Vick and Pierce jawed and gestured at each other for several seconds as they returned to the field.

The $12,500 fine is relatively standard for such a penalty. While it is in keeping with the NFL emphasis on protecting quarterbacks, Pierce probably would have been similarly sanctioned for hitting any player so far out of bounds.

A six-year veteran, Pierce could not be reached Friday afternoon. He can appeal the fine but likely would have a tough time prevailing in such an action. Pierce's base salary for 2006 is $2.35 million, so the fine represents a microscopic portion of his compensation for this season.

    WORTH EVERY PENNY!

  4. I hope you are happy...........I CRIED. AT THE BAR. TEARS......DOWN MY FACE..........EVEN THOUGH I TALK SMACK....NOBODY SAID ANYTHING..........BECAUSE I WAS CRYING. TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE. THANKS METS. :cwy:

  5. This is a classic case of a reporter purposely taking things out of context

    Vick's actual statement:

"It really didn't seem like that much pressure. They put pressure on us from the edges. They didn't blitz too much. They just challenged us man-on-man up front. I really didn't see to many blitzes . Everything they did was pretty basic. It was pretty vanilla. It was about our execution. As a quarterback you are going to see some pressure, but you have to find a way to overcome it. We take our hats off to them."

so you see, he was praising the Giants, but that doesn't sell tabloids.

yea you didn't see them cause you were on the ground half the time! :TU:

  6. I'm glad you noticed. I thought that was a fucked up Cali thing. The HD was bullshit. It was like regular broadcast but they stretched the screen.

I'm glad the Yanks game is on ESPN tomorrow night.

nope happened down here in SC. I could barley see the game. It happens all the time with fox and sports. They suck

  7. Look at their schedule -

@ JAX -winnable but probable loss

vs MIA - should win LOSS

    vs DET - should win

@ CLE - should win LOSS

    bye

    @ NE - should lose

    vs CHI - should lose

    vs HOU - should win

    @ GB - should win

vs BUF - should win LOSS

@ MIN - winnable but can easily be a loss

@ MIA - should win but can easily be a loss

    vs OAK - should win

The rest of the way should be 6-8 wins, bringing the total to 8, 9, 10 area. I don't think we can get division or wildcard, but they are better than an 8-8 at best

    I fixed it for you.
