I'm sorry to see Jacobs go, I personally think his decline was exacerbated by bad O-line play.
-
Why do people keep saying Nicks has size? Nicks is 6'1 208, Cruz is 6' 204 not that much of a difference.
-
IMO Eli is the greatest Giants QB to play, and this is coming from a HUGE Simms fan.
-
Our running game was at its best when Jacobs and Bradshaw were sharing in the carries, why are you guys asking for more of the shitty running game that we've been seeing this entire year?
Just a note, there were a couple of runs where Jacobs clobbered an incoming tackler.
-
You hear that sound? That's the sound of Osi losing his job.
-
This is about as non-story as you can get.
-
I got from this link that Eli has 22....or are you only counting like the last minute drives?
I was only looking at come from behind, tie's don't count towards that on that website.
-
great find. So Eli is at 18 right now, and Elway had 35.
-
I remember about 4 years ago one of the talking heads during a Giants game mentioned that Manning was on pace to beat John Elways career come from behind win record. Any idea where Manning is at with that so far?
-
Makes me want to pop my superbowl dvd in and watch the game again.
-
You are comparing THIS SEASON'S stats?
yes those are the 2011 season stats, by all means compare them. why don't you start off with touch downs and interceptions.
-
And Tony Romo has a better completion percentage and overall QB rating. Less fumbles and INT's too.
Just sayin...
Romo:com% 65.1,QB rating 95.3, int 5, fumbles 3
Manning:com% 64, QB rating: 105.6, int 2. fumbles 2
just sayin....

Well, actually, yeah. The 49ers were 1 last-second field goal away from possibly being the only team in NFL history to win three consecutive SBs.
This is nonsense, as usual. Our defense and running game got us the Lombardi in 1990--that would have been the case even with Simms in the picture. There is no way you could say that about 2007, particularly the playoff run.
were the 9ers undefeated? how was joe montana's health in that game?
-
a most excellent point. the dog was so inclined to look at hostetler's playoff run that year, and it is remarkably similar to what eli did minus one game. both played mistake free, solid football during that stretch, and relied on the defense to get them over the top. the dog likes your style.
Hostetler lead the Giants to a come from behind win against what would have been called "the greatest team in history" had they won?
-
he makes our current run game look pedestrian. too bad he was an idiot and left the game a year early.
-
Sorry Osi i don't think your getting your job back this time.
which may be why osi was being a little bitch about being traded, he may have seen what the future had in store for his career in blue.

and an update from giants.com JPP left with a cramp.

every once in awhile even a blind squirrel can find a nut.

- Maybe it's me, but if I was the coach, I'd think about starting Carr at QB. He looked tremendous and looks to have matured immensely since last time he was with the Giants.
are you saying the Giants should bench Eli to start Carr?

you know sometimes I wonder if you guys are really Giants fans or more fans of the Giants status quo.......most all of you loved Fassel when he was the Giants HC and now laugh at him......he took you to a SB.........something Rex Ryan and the Jets will likely never get to.
It will change over time..........most teams revere their greatest players.....Tiki was and is the greatest Giants RB of all time regardless if you think Coughlin is a good coach or a mediocre dictator
If you fault him for leaving prior to the SB run, maybe he had other things on his mind, and saw no more mountains to climb at the time......I doubt he thought the Giants would win the SB the next year........no one did
His job as a reporter was to report.......its no secret Coughlin is less than fun to play for and Eli is not a born Leader like his brother.
it was a bolt out of the BLUE that SB win.........capped by a miracle catch
you see thats my whole thing.......I want to see the Giants as perennial SB contenders like Pittsburgh, and New England, not a group that over achieves every 20 years.......I do not see us getting to that status without a regime change- namely Coughlin, and unless he ups his game perhaps Eli too
Yeah but you are also the same guy who thought Strahan sucked. So excuse us if we think you are a fucking idiot.
Go die in a fire.

I think this is a very bad decision by the Giants and will become a fiasco next December
We will probably be fighting for a playoff spot once again and Captain Queeg leads us to yet another 10-6 season beating up on the bad teams
It will come down to the last game of the season and Tampa will beat us out for a playoff spot as Tiki runs for 256 yds going all year for Tampa without fumbling once.
I can see this one and you don't need to be Nostrodamus to see it..............BTW why all the Tiki hate??......did he shoot the pope or something...........ohhhhhhh I get it....he pointed out playing for Coughlin is like rooting for the dentist.
Queeg will once again ask everyone to kiss his Irish Axx and we will be left wondering who would ever want to
Isn't Tiki our all time leading RB who the day after Old Man Mara died ran for 230 some yds and destroyed the Skins single handed 36-0..........wheres the love?
I see Tiki putting in another 4 years at 1500 yds per and being voted into the Hall of Fame.........a place ol Coughy can only visit like you and I...........along with Airhorn, and Eli.
There have been very few truly Elite players on the Giants hte last 15 years...........Tiki, Strahan, who else???
Can you predict some lotto numbers too?

I remember me and my brother Ricky watching that game together. It was amazing seeing the Giants win it all on that kick.
-
Sorry to be a debbie downer, but Eli led the league in INT's this past season. What makes you think he's going to go all Brett Favre on everybody?
Isn't throwing a lot of picks going "Breat Favre" on everybody?
-
I thought the same thing but I don't think there's going to be value at 19 for a LB. No need to trade down, if they are second round values, just get one there. But I'm thinking more and more just get best player available. Anyway, something struck me in our games against Dallas and Philly.... in both games, the best player on the field was Dez Bryant and DeSean Jackson. At times they looked like unstoppable forces. If we can get a player in that mold (a la Green) it would equalize things to a degree. I realize we have good receivers, but say we get one more guy like Green who is unstoppable, then you have him and Nicks on the outside with Smith in the slot. That would be very difficult to defend. I acknowledge that I doubt that this will happen.
Also, there are good RB's throughout the draft, but I think this team needs a SPECIAL player like I said to take this team over the hump so we can finally beat Philly.
it would be great to be able to score over 31 points regularly, but what if your opponent is able to regularly score 34 points on you? The lack of line backer is killing us.
Why the Giants WILL take a RB in the first round
