Division title really isn't that big of a deal, even coming from a Giants fan. All it does is get you a nice t-shirt or hat, nothing more. Doesn't make up for losing in the ALDS and doesn't make up for getting shutout 23-0 in the playoffs.
What a dumb comment....a division title means the team was good the entire season. Gives us fans something to watch, something to talk about every day at work. Would you rather your team be in last place and have no shot at the division? I'd rather see my team atleast make the playoffs and have some hope of winning it all. Ofcourse we all hate when our team loses in the playoffs, but there's only one winner at the end of the year and I'd like to say my team atleast had a chance.

Nah, Sheff's da MAN!
Do me a favor, instead of constantly hanging out in Yankee threads looking for little things to comment on every day, go to the Sox section and author a well thought-out post previewing your team’s season. Let’s see if you can be the slightest bit objective and provide us with some valuable baseball-related information. While you know I love your witty jabs and commentary, I'm not quite sure you know a damn thing about baseball. So hop to it; let’s see if you know anything and allow us the opportunity to critique one of your posts in an intelligent manner.
Was anyone else listening to 660 today when a lot of the fans calling in were ripping Sheffield to shreads and wishing they had signed Vlad instead of him?And you, aren't you a Mets fan.....get lost.
-
This was before I found out I can edit titles. Motes had originaly put Yankees suck or something like that. I got him back but he edited the one I did to.
I see....you section mods are crazy.

Joe Torre said the same garbage the last 5 years, and what happened?
Umm they won the division....for any other team that's a huge accomplishment. If the Red Sox ever get another division title you'll know the feeling.
-
This thread will be deleted.
So do it slick.....
-
LOL...he says that every year; I love that man.
-
Moose has been fine for us, Matsui is awesome, Lofton won the WS with us and Giambi's and A-Rod's stories are still being written, so what the hell is your point regarding them? As for the rest, we can't help it if some people crumble under the heat of the NYC spotlight while others thrive.
Not Lofton bud, but who cares about him anyway....the mick is reaching for anything right now.
-
Yep, just like Gordon, Giambi, Mussina, ARod, Brown, Pavano, Wright, Matsui, Lofton, etc., etc., etc.
Wanna go through the Red Sox list?
Mickeef, you seem very bitter this season and it hasn't even started yet.
-
Second that idea...a depth chart at the very least. The author of the thread can make changes as free agency and the draft go along.
Also a thread with links to articles from third party sources would be useful.
-
Great now I feel like the fat chick at the party. Bastards.
I'm glad to see ya, isn't that worth something these days....
Looks like we'll relocate our Yanks talk to this place.
-
lol How is he "DA MAN" based on that article. Do you understand that meeting was strictly a preventative measure by Cashman to try to keep Sheffield happy while the Yankees let him play out the season before deciding whether they want him around anymore? He's so stupid, he fell for it. If he's so great, why aren't they picking up the option right now? 13 mil. ain't a lot to pay for a great player.
He knows that mickeef, come on, he's a professional and has been in the league forever. He also knows that he has to work for the option to be picked up. This announcement makes him happy because it PUBLICALLY shows that the Yanks are interested in keeping him on for another year if he performs. Do you really thinking that YOU picked up on the underlying message of this announcement and he didn't.

Starting Lineup:
Marbury-1
Francis-2
Rose-3
Frye-4
Curry-5
-
I wish Crawford were moved instead of Ariza. Good job Isiah.
-
Ofcourse we do....
-
What is it about the Madison Square Garden atmosphere that creates such inept front office decisions?
Not the Rangers....there all set up for a nice run the next few years.
-
So then you think that this trade would be good for the Knicks?
Honestly, I don't know how to fix the Knicks right now. I hate Crawford, I hate Francis and I hate Thomas. While I understand your point about youth and $$$, the Knicks are so far over the cap a few extra bucks don't mean shit. If Curry doesn;t pan out, we're fucked for the next 5 seasons regardless.
-
I would rather have Crawford than Francis...why?
well here is why...
He is a better shooter
He is a better teamate
He has a smaller contract
He is younger
He is more athletic
Francis will basically get more points and rebounds
Yea, who needs point and rebounds...
BTW, Crawford is NOT more athletic than Francis and he is not a better shooter (43% vs. 40%). Plus Francis is 29 and Crawford is 25, who cares how old they will be 3 or 4 years from now, they'll both be on different teams. Other than those few points, this is a great post.

I wasn't merely talking about their record as being indicative of how good they are, I mean the talent on the court....unfortunately, it seems the Nets get befuddled on the road, yet are awesome at home....if they can correct whatever it is that makes them play so differently away, their record would be more consistant with how good they actually are.
Dude, they have a 29-23 record and get to play the Atlantic division. They're toast come playoff time. I just hope when they move to BK they have a cool logo.
-
They're ALREADY a really good team, smart guy, but I'd admit not quite elite...although not far from being that...the only thing I can agree with you on is that last sentence.
You know the NBA is in a sad state when fans think 29-23 is "really" good.
-
You laugh, but imagine the team as it is now AND with K-Mart back...you're going to tell me that with him (or someone like him), Kidd, Carter, RJ, etc. that the Nets wouldn't go from being a really good team to an elite one?
Really good, maybe....able to compete with the Pistons, Spurs, Mavs or Suns (with Amare), NO! Plus, if they get K-Mart, they'd have to lose someone. Regardless, the Knicks are the worst team in the league, I can't even continue talking basketball.
-
The Nets are a power forward away from being right up there with Miami and Detroit. The Knicks are about 6-7 players away from 500. Big difference!
-
Easy to say when you're in its basement...I'm SURE you'd be singing a different tune if it were the other way around....you sound like a sore loser.
Do the Nets have a title shot? I already know the Knicks don't...not for a long long time.
-
Try getting to the top of the division, then come talk to me.
Being at the top of the Atlantic is nothing to brag about.
-
There are 3-5 teams capable of winning the NBA championship...the Nets are not among them nor will they ever be. Sorry.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

How can a Red Sox fan diss the Braves? They have been way, way more successful than your team during this current run of division titles and the Sox spend a ton more money than they do.
