  1. Chillin'. You?

Same. Ready for the season. Ready to see if...

Pavano can finally makes some starts

Igawa can hold down the 4th or 5th roatation spot and get 13-15 wins

Abreau can continue to be an on base machine

Cano can hit above .340 again

Matsui can round back into form

    Pettitte's still got "it"

The young arms in the farm system can make an impact

    Bernie finds a roster spot

    and most of all...

If A-rod can come through in playoffs!

    ...among other things.

  2. I know this is a little late, but I was really impressed with A-rod's interview this past weekend. He flipped the script on the media and clearly laid out his relationship with Jeter. Now they have no more questions to ask. He also admitted he sucked in the playoffs. Yea it was obvious, but rarely do you see professional athletes, especially of his stature, admit they suck. I also like the way he embraced being the highest paid player in baseball. He seems focused and ready to play. The Yanks have good team chemistry this season, a mix of veterans and young guys and some arms in the minors that could be ready by mid-season. I'm pumped.

  3. Pay no attention Lil sea ass, Dub is our resident bi-polar wako.

Good to hear from you VG. I see many of the same characters are still floating around this joint. I guess with baseball season rolling around i'll stop by a little more often to mix it up.

    Nah, I just like swimming.

You addressed me as if we've spoken in past. Are you an old current events guy or just a nobody that i'll probably ignore?

  4. He could take a dump on home plate in Fenway and Sox management, players and fans would just say..."that's Manny being Manny." A-Rod sneezes and doesn't cover his mouth and it's on the back page of the post. Ridiculous.

  5. 90% of Yankee fans are tools. It's a proven fact.

LOL, Mets fans just scream out..."take my lunch money, please." I'm sure you're no different, but i'll spare you since you're also a Giants fan.

  6. Yah, I had Dotel on my mind when I was writing it but got distracted by stats. When healthy, Dotel is arguably the best middle reliever in the league, providing insane strikeouts and an ERA to match. Thing is, Dotel is coming off of surgery. If healthy and if he gets back into shape, Dotel should be a great aid to the Yankees. Note that I was referring to current bullpens though...if the season were to start today.

    Fair enough...

  7. Little shots? I just state the facts. If I was a Yankees fan I would post something similar. I have posted in very few threads in this section and when I do, I mean to have a debate, not to get on your nerves. To say I'm always in this section is very untrue.

I thought you knew me better then that lilceas.

    I know you well.... <_<

  8. C'Mon bro, you can't be serious. I'm a Sox fan, my job is to ruffle Yankee feathers. You're supposed to go to the Sox board and take shots at us there. There's really nothing to talk about right now with my own team. When something relevent pops up, I'll talk about it there.

As for me giving a detailed analysis of where my team stands, those are kinda dorky. The old "everybody's got their opinion" thing. Trust me, though, if you stay tuned, you will come to understand that I know my shit when it comes to baseball and my team (though something tells me you already know that), and I also know more about the Yankees and watch more of their games (I don't get the Sox) at any given time than at least 90% of Yankee fans.

Dude, I love the Yankees-Sox smack talk, that's the main reason why I came to this board. I also know that you know your shit, which is why i'd like a little insight on the SOX....plus it gives me the opportunity to tear them up (something tells me you know I know my shit as well). Don't worry, I'll stay tuned all season.

  9. I hate the Yankees as much as any other guy but I was raised that way. And you guys know I stop by in the Yanks threads not to be a troll, but to discuss the Yankees with as little hatred and bias as possible for them.

Anywhere else on this board you don't troll, here.......you do.

Maybe I'm not considered a person, but I'm a Sox fan here, and I haven't met any opposition. I'm just discussing the good old game of baseball.

you are correct sir....not a person.

my favorite tema by far the yankees but i will root for any team that beats the red sox :LMAO:

    English please.

  10. How come the Yankees fans are so obsessed with the Mets? I don't see where Motes implicated the Mets into this.

Fucking pathethic douchebag Yankee fans need to worry about their own division.

The division is wrapped up; now we have to make sure the city is still ours....douchebag.

  11. Actually, in the long run, the Yankees lost out on that deal and they've regretted it. The front office will admit to that mistake itself. Guerrero is younger and an insanely good player who would have outperformed Gary Sheffield without a doubt. I'm not saying the Yankees dug themselves a hole with Sheffield but Guerrero would have been a better buy.

No kidding Vlad's better..that was the boss' decision.

Best response you got to that?

HUH? I don't mean to be rude, cause you're really not that much of an a-hole, but you're always in this section taking little shots at the Yanks. Sometimes you're more annoying than the yuppie Sox fans.

  12. I disagree. I don't deny that the Yankees have a good bullpen but "best bullpen in the division by far" and "one of the best in all of baseball" is an outright lie. Let's just do a comparison between Sox and Yankees even.

    Red Sox ---- Yankees

    Foulke --- Rivera

    Timlin --- Farnsworth

    Seanez --- Villone

    Riske --- Myers

    Papelbon --- Sturtze

    Arroyo --- Small

This is how it's working out so far with Wells not traded yet and Pavano hitting the DL. Rivera is obviously better than Foulke, but if Foulke is back to form, he can close games. Timlin is steadier than Farnsworth, who has questions around his ability to pitch in big games. Seanez has pitched a career best his last two years after starting martial arts to keep himself in shape. Villone, on the other hand has a 4.75 career era and a 1.49 career WHIP which will hurt the pen. Despite giving up the long ball, David Riske is a solid 3 era. Myers on the other hand is a left handed specialist and only that. Papelbon is an up and coming star, and barring his return to the rotation, will dominate while Sturtze has always been an average pitcher and tailed off at the end of last year. Arroyo is versatile and can have a solid 4 era in the pen while Aaron Small had an incredible year but it doesn't hide his career 4.90 era and 1.57 WHIP. I don't know, I think the Sox have the better bullpen.

You fogot about Dotel who should be back by May. He was a very good closer for the A's before the injury. If he's healthy (Love me some tommy john) then we have the best bullpen in the division by far...I disagree with the best in the league comment.
