Melky produced in the big spots consistently. I don't have that faith in Granderson. I hope he proves me wrong, but until he does, I stand by Melky having more heart in NY than Cranderson.
granderson is 1 of only 2 yankees consistently hitting well this postseason.

bengie molina is a really sucky hitter, its impossible to look at his stats for his career and not come up with that conclusion lol. He's gotten on base less than 30 percent of the time three times in his career...thats putrid.
-
i lol'd at brandon jacobs
-
players who are turning 36 are supposed to start hitting less hrs...lets just enjoy what should've been happening the last 15 years
-
he was more muscled up years ago when he was on roids.... he just isint as good anymore because hes older
-
also maybe cash thought this would light a fire under joba , get him a little nervous about being relegated to the 6th and 7th innings.
-
So then Javy is obviously trade bait, probably for another bench piece/DH to replace Nick Johnson, who apparently died. How about to 'Zona for Adam Laroche?
-
deal for lee is just about done, I'll miss Montero but DAMN... 1-2 punch of CC and Lee is tops in the game.
-
Grandy is coming back soon enough... and Carl Crawford will be in LF next year so its all good in terms of getting younger after this season.

First of all, no one's better than Cervelli at this point. He's been super clutch, and the pitchers love him. Second, although you don't want to lose Jeter's, Arod's or Posada's bats from the line up, they are over the hill age wise. They can no longer take the grind every day. Posada particularly is becoming a hindrance behind the plate. You can also rest some of the younger guys, too, since they're more apt to break down mentally.
Yeah, I see what your saying but its waaaaay too much of a hit to have to play Cervelli and Pena on a regular basis while having "shifting" DH spot for aging players. Both are good bench players, but shouldn't get that many ABs in a season. Why cut Johnson loose? When he's healthy he is light-years better than Cervelli or Pena over the course of a full season.
-
He's hurting the team when you can DH Arod, Jeter, or Posada, all of which (whom) have high OBP's and can play a position without breaking.
I swear, if George was younger, Cashman would have a size nine footprint on his ass for the deals he pulled off this winter.
I don't understand. You're saying you can DH those players and thats why NJ is hurting the team, but NJ is a hell of a lot better than Pena or Cervelli, who you'd have to play in the field at that point.
-
Since he's still proving he's made of glass, it's time to cut him loose. We have Miranda rotting away in SWB and is well capable of filling in for Tex. That DH spot should be reserved for our old guys, anyway.
Another thing, get someone up here who can spell Gardy once in awhile. That dude comes up lame, we're f'ked.
Might want to put Posada on the DL and bring up Romine. I don't care how young Cervelli is. Playing the same catcher every day is asking for trouble.
Nick was not hurting the team. He got on base 38 percent of the time in the number 2 hole... I'd like to see Miranda or anyone else who replaces him do that.

LOL, this is sooooo pathetic that its hilarious
-
Reed Johnson career vs. lefties- .313 AVG, .378 OBP, .841 OPS. Not bad if he's platooning with Grandy who looks foolish against lefties...
-
no sweat.
as for bulls and hugh, there's a difference between the value of a player AL vs. NL that (and i hate to sound condescending) you guys will never get .
nvm
-
Reed Johnson would be good because he mashes lefties, so he could platoon with Granderson.
-
Look if you got him for defense, thats fine.. I really don't know how he handles a pitching staff. If thats the priority then I guess this is a good move, but you can probably get someone great at that for a lot cheaper and less years. Molina won't add much offensively to a team. You guys should attempt to trade for one of the Texas catchers if you're serious about upgrading the position.
-
Bengie Molina does suck... Maybe he's better than Brian Schneider, but whats that really saying? Molina has some pop, but he barely gets on base... And you need hitters to get on base for them to be considered good (at least in my opinion, and in the opinion of most who study the game). OBP and OPS are infinitely more valuable in judging players than batting average is, and Molina's are among the worst in the league for starting players. Jesus, I haven't looked at his offensive performance in a long, long time, but they are just god-awful... Good, or even mediocre hitters don't fail to get on base 30 percent of the time, its just not done... Thats not adequate even for a catcher.

I'm rooting for anyone but the Eagles, Cowboys, and Patriots.
-
If Damon does not return- Granderson in left, Gardner in center, Swisher in right = top 3 defensive outfield in baseball. But I hope Damon does return, even if he does I'm sure he will rotate with Nick Johnson at DH.
-
So.... Joba or Hughes in the rotation?
-
-
This would be a great signing... Johnson is an OBP beast, will hit 25+ in the stadium, and his fragile body won't have to endure the field. Great.
Im not completely sure, I have to do some fact checking...
