Can someone put Ryan Howard in a Yankee's uniform. I told a friend that he's going to look awfully good in pinstripes and this should piss them off a little more. Take all the time you need and thanks in advance.

spear33,

Attach some source pics of Ryan Howard here and I'll be happy to doctor up some Ryan Howard pics as a Yankee...

He's already in pinstripes...and he looks pretty damn good.

The Phils really better make sure they sign him and hope that he doesn't go the way of Pat Burrell.

If the Phils don't lock up Howard and Utley, I will swear off being a fan for the rest of my life. Utley's contract is up after this year, and Howard has another year (or maybe two, I forget), but I don't want to see him playing for $390k again next year. I don't think either of them are the Pat Burrel type, they're sure things.

Knock on wood.

You know how many years are left on Cole Hammels contract? He looks like he's going to be a stud. The Phillies really do have a solid team with Rowan, Rollins, Utley, Howard and Victorino. They just need to shore up some positions like 3B and get some some pitching to go along with it.

With the improvement both players made in their games just since coming up to the majors, it's hard for me to think that either of them are going to be anything but superstars for years to come. Burrell's big season (the one that got him a big contract) was for 37 homers and about 115 RBIs, which pales in comparison to what Howard is doing right now.

I think Hamels has another year (maybe 2) left on his contract, but yeah he does look like he's going to be a stud. I do like the face of this team right now (not necessarily for the playoffs this year, but for the future), guys like Victorino and Utley are just a helluva lot of fun to watch. They just need to get a bat behind Howard, preferably a 3rd baseman, but I'm not sure what the FA market looks like this year, and they'll be in good shape. I like their top 3 starters in Myers, Hamels and Wolfie, and maybe even keep Lieber around, but the bullpen is in shambles with just a few exceptions.

If they can somehow manage to get into the playoffs and they're starting pitching comes together, they'll have as much a shot to make it as anyone else from the NL. The Mets are still the favorite, but they'll have to see how Pedro bounces back. The Cards aren't the Cards of the last few years. And who the hell knows what's going to happen in the NL West. Even though its a long shot, I really hope they end up playing the Yankees in the WS. I'd never live it down if they lost, since my roommate and friends at school are all big Philly fans, but I'm willing to take that chance.

Last year was their real chance though. They were 1 GB of Houston in the WC and lost every single game to them. Not to mention late in the season when they had a lead in the ninth inning with two outs and no one on. They gave up an infield single and then ended up losing. That cost them a playoff birth single handidly.
