  1. 52 yarder for Feely was a stupid move. Should've went for it or punted. Once Hester fielded the FG, he was committed to run it out or the ball would have been spotted at the 20 instead of where the ball was kicked from. The players lost their heads on that play.

no way you go for it after eli has shown that he can't hit the broad side of a barn. if we punt and still lose, people hang coughlin for failing to try the FG there. hindsight is 20/20. if feely does his job and hits that kick, things are a lot different. coughlin has to rely on his players to be able to do their job... and with a kicker as good as feely (say what you will about feely but he's still one of the best in the league), i can't blame TC for calling his number.

  2. It's hard to sustain long drawn out drives when you do not run the ball. The fact the the coaches decided to turn last night into a passing game in the cold/wind/rain makes me question the squash between their ears. You have the best RB in Giants history and the leagues leading rusher plus a bruising 260 lbs RB and you run 21 times in THAT weather? our coaches are morons.

Felley has the leg definately, but on a wet field kicking into the wind down 4 anyway, the only logical thing to do was to punt and hope Feagles canb pin them inside the 10.

i'll agree with you about the run game. this is the 2nd week in a row tiki has looked good early and the offensive coaching staff has insisted on throwing the ball. i think that falls more on hufnagle and gilbride than coughlin.

even at times where tiki wasn't being effective, why wasn't there any jacobs to change the pace? where were some plays for shockey (although it's questionable whether eli would have gotten the ball to him)? just poor offensive planning and execution.

  3. once again, the NY media is out to get coughlin.

this game came down to much more than one missed FG. the offense could not stay on the field to sustain a long drive. eli was erratic. corey webster was off traipsing through the daisy fields. jeremy shockey was stuck in play calling limbo.

feely has the leg to make a 52 yarder. you have to have faith in your kicker to do a better job than that. that being said, i don't think we should get rid of feely.

  4. Yeah, but Coughlin didn't tell the Special Teams when it mattered because half the team was seen walking back to the sidelines! Coughlin admitted he was struggling with the decision to go for the FG or punt it. His indecisiveness cost us the game because he didn't fully prepare his team fot the bad possibilties in the final decision he DID make.

i mean what are these players, little kids? if a play is important enough to be practiced every week, you shouldn't have to be reminded about it. all you gotta do is look up and see hester waiting in the back of the end zone. i watched the play unfold... giants players started slowing up as soon as hester faked the kneel. they failed to do their job. how is this coughlin's fault??

  5. I thought many of the runs came off the edges in the second half which was a good adjustment for Chicago because of our DE situation.

you are correct. although, by the end of it, the defense was so gassed that the bears could get good yardage from any hole in the defensive line.

offensively nobody but tiki deserves any recognition. a few guys on the offensive line did well, but when the bears got aggressive the o-line had a tough time holding down the fort. i guess that's to be expected.

i agree w/ the prior assessment of gibril. the guy is a gamer. if only will demps played that hard.

also, another consistent effort from AP.

  6. AP Wire.

There has been a missing persons report in East Rutherford, NJ.

His name is Jeremy Shockey and he played Tight End for the New York Giants, he was

very visible in the years of 2002-2005, where he would make catches and pump up the crowd

and team at the same time. He is no longer visible and no longer makes extraordinary catches

because of Offensive Coordinator John Hufnagle.

More to come in this breaking Story.

put out an ABP. calling all cars.

  7. I know what you are saying, but we already had the momentum.....field goal or not. And it's Coughlin's fault for not covering all his groung in his decision to try for a field goal. He should have prepered his guys for a possible FG miss and possible return in swirling winds and rain at the Meadowlands. It's not his first game in the swamp you know. If you go for the FG..cover your ass for ANY and ALL possiblities if you miss! He failed to do so.

feely said in his post-game press conference that they practice the short FG cover every week.

  8. that field goal would have brought us w/in one and would have helped in the momentum swing.

the decision to go for the field goal was tough, but i can't put TC on the hook for this one. feely can't make that field goal short. the special teams players have to play to the whistle and watch for the run back. it's not ridiculously extreme to expect feely to get a better kick on a 52 yarder.

coughlin certainly isn't innocent, but yesterday's loss was more a failure to execute than anything else.
