  1. I agree completely. From what I saw last year, I think he'll earn a the 2 spot.

Hopefully Nicks at 1, Hixon at 2, Smith at slot, Manningham at 3, Barden in the red-zone..whatever the fuck killdrive wants to do with moss, it better not interfere with them.

  2. He was one of the only STARTING #1 WRs in the league having problems beating single coverage.

And, I bet Owens and Edwards dropped more passes the year we won the SB than Burress did...I looked for a link for that stat but I can't find one...if anyone else can, please do, I'd be interested in seeing that...

I think Plax dropped more then T.O

But Edwards dropped more then Plax.

  3. It isn't the Patriots who are ahead, it is Bob Kraft. Since taking over the team they have been .650 and over the past decade been a contending team each year.

    Oh.

I still want to see him last as long as the Mara family has and win all the championships they have.

  4. Kevin Gilbride, the Giants’ offensive coordinator, doesn’t underestimate the loss of Plaxico Burress, but he’s convinced the Giants still have enough weapons to succeed with out him.

One of those weapons, Gilbride said today, is Sinorice Moss.

“This will be his big chance,” Gilbride said. “He’ll start off in the three wides. He will be the starter. We just hope - - and I know he’ll hope for sure - - that he flourishes and does well.”

Given what Moss has done in his three-year career with the Giants, that seems a little hard to believe. After all the injuries, all the inconsistency, and the lack of production, what gives Gilbride hope that the 5-8 Moss can flourish?

“I think last year he had his best year,” Gilbride said. “As I said to him a couple of times at the end, ‘We’re sitting you down, but it’s not because you’re not contributing.’ I think he was playing pretty good football. I think every throw we made to him he (caught). There is a place for his speed and his quicks.

“I thought he did a much better job last year. He always, for a little guy, gets after people blocking, which helps in the running game. So I think his confidence is a little bit improved. I think our confidence in him is a little bit expanded. So I think it’s reasonable to think that he can take maybe one more step forward, as he did last year, and become a guy that gets a chance to play.”

  5. his arm is sufficient- by no means is he an elway or a marino. he can throw far but he puts some air under his throws. and i agree, he can't do much about accuracy (his problem since Ole Miss) but he can improve his touch- like getting the proper arc on screens and fades and getting zip on the slants and outs. it's mostly about footwork. we'll see....

    Yup!

  6. Are you serious?? The reason we need WR's that can make crazy catches is because the ball isn't usually right on the money. But he has been known for having a very strong arm and can throw one of the longest balls of anyone in the NFL....btw, McNabb has the strongest.

Wait, hold on bro, I didn't say how can Eli work on his accuracy..I ment I don't know HOW he can..like in what way can he do it.

  7. Did you even bother to read my post?

    ok....

Edit: Let me say this then, since you didnt bother to read my other post. Does Carr have a stronger arm then Eli? I dont know they both can throw the long pass, but I'll say for the sake of the argument sure why not. However if your trying to tell me Carr plays better in outdoor condition? Thats just laughable.

There arms are in no comparison.

Eli has an arm of a 12 year old boy.

Eli has better accuracy, but AGAIN..if you have a stronger arm..that means you can throw better in the wind.

Carr just needs accuracy to be better in the weather then Eli..other then that Eli is a better player.

  8. All those years of playing in the Houston dome must of made him better in the weather :P Carr is actually horrible in weather games infact he's TD/Int in outdoor games is 41/50 compared to Eli who is 90/62 plus in 2005 every single game Eli played was in an outdoor stadium and he finished 24/17.

Wait are you trying to say David Carr doesn't have a stronger arm then Eli Manning?

    ok..

  9. the dog would have to strongly disagree here...hixon may ultimately be a solid receiver, but he did not step up last year when he was thrust into the line-up...he may this year, who knows...but the double coverage thing is inaccurate:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs2008...tory?id=3805758

Hixon is quick to note that he gained plenty of confidence while playing with the first-team offense during most of training camp -- when Burress was sidelined with an ankle injury -- and he has been a solid target for Eli Manning for most of this season (43 receptions, 596 yards, two touchdowns). The key for Hixon now is making sure he can beat the single coverage he's likely to get throughout this postseason. There will be plenty of times when the Giants will need a receiver to make the kind of big plays that Burress made in last season's Super Bowl run. Remember, the Giants probably wouldn't have won last year's NFC Championship Game if not for Burress' 11 receptions for 151 yards in that victory over Green Bay.

Said Hixon: "Without Plaxico out there, we know we're not going to have a guy who demands double coverage. That means the safeties are going to be closer to the line of scrimmage to stop the run and we're going to see more press coverage on the outside. We saw that in the first game we played after Plaxico was out for the year [a 23-7 win over Washington]. That's why I'm always focusing on being accountable. That's what I've been practicing all season -- doing my job."

I'm pretty sure I saw 2-3 defensive backs chasing Hixon down the field in the Eagles game..

  10. I'd like to talk you down, but I'm in the same boat. Our defense is friggin scary and we have so many offensive weapons that it's scary.

A major injury to Eli would really screw things up. Or if we have several WR's go down we could have trouble putting points on the board. But in reality, I don't see a lot of teams putting up a lot of points on us. We might even hang a donut or two of some teams this year.

Losing Eli wouldn't hurt us as much as losing Jacobs would.

we could always replace Eli with Carr..who has a WAY better arm.

  11. No, Nicks said he's keeping 18.

I believe in an interview he said "the player makes the number, the number doesnt make the player"

Plus who really gives a fuck about what other teams WRs are? Nicks is still going to have the better career (homerism off)

Well if the player makes the number then I guess Nicks will stay 18 while Britt and Maclin change.
