When the NFL network first started to air it was probably at it's best, it was actually what it set out to be, a NFL channel meant for NFL news and segments, analyzed by past/current coaches and guys who knew what they were taking about.

 

Now it's basically Fox News for the NFL, with the occasional NFL documentary.

 

I don't blame them with what they did with the NFL network I mean it exploded once it got popular, but once they started hiring guys like Micheal Irvan and Warren Sapp and getting less air time for Rich Eisen, Mike Mayock (although he's basically on 24/7 during draft time) and NFL coaches, they basically gave up on broadcasting/analyzing NFL news and just entertaining people.

You nailed it, I loved it when it first came out. Now ...eh not so much.

ESPN fell to the same concept though..... I used to really love ESPN, now, I dont even bother to tune in.... at all.

 

I do like other programming they have, the documentary stuff, football life etc.

Exactly and I will watch late sunday night after the games for highlights, not the commentary.

I've actually been extremely disappointed in nfl network since it started airing around here. I thought I'd watch it constantly but most of the time it's unwatchable.

I dont bother turning on in the am anymore... just horrible talk show format, it's like they are trying to emulate the Today show or something....

Not a big name but Nolan Carroll just signed with the Birds...

NFL network is awesome. If anyone needs to garner interest, it should be ESPN or sportscenter. Such crap.

Does anyone actually watch ESPN anymore? I stopped watching it several years ago... agreed such crap.

But- still haven't really upgraded the horrid defense.

my guess is that sproles won't get a ton of carries and is just out there for catching passes. the eagles barely used brown last year anyway (much to my fantasy team's chagrin)

Figure he's a good kick returner, and a great 2nd option at RB behind McCoy... he's a versatile player
