  1. but, but, he was the QB on two super bowl winning teams...the dog is just saying, just because his other 8 seasons have fluctuated between mediocre and lousy and has resulted in zero playoff wins, shouldn't he still be considered among the NFL elite QBs? ZZZZZZZZZZZ.........

  2. The dog is here...not much to discuss that you all haven't. As much as the dog would like to contribute (I.e., the three recent picks were all on Manning as much as people want to analyze the still pics to death to try and blame everyone and everything but him), there is just no point...

  3. With the Super Bowl being played in East Rutherford this year, wouldnt it be something if the NFC representative was either Dallas, Philly or Washington, and the AFC representative was the Jets?

The dog is intrigued, and for those of you who are saying that you are disinterested in this season, if this doesnt keep you tuned in, the dog isnt sure what will...

other intriguing AFC reps: Chargers and Broncos

Discuss...enthusisastically...using colorful metaphors...and where is "allstar"jim with his menu for this weekend? the dog, and the executives at the food network are just bursting at the seems in anticipation...

  4. Come back 90 hours before week 1, as opposed to what, Jabroni? Mid-March when there is sooooo much football to discuss? I don't think you would like that, Jabroni.

But If you would prefer I can stay here every-single-day throughout the year, spreading cheer and my wealth of football knowledge.

So what do you say, Jabroni? Will the Cowboys keep rolling into Kansas City? :cheah:

I'd feel better about staying undefeated if that one was at home.

The Italian Hotdog does find that picture of the Rock, well, kind of awkward. Kind of like a pin-up one would see in the locker of a middle school girl. To each his own, the dog always says.

This game is a total toss up...the dog will find it entertaining. Cowboys may finally break through and beat the giants at home, but one of these teams is going to have to make one play on defense.

  5. At this time, the Italian Hotdog and his team of professional experts has successfully concluded a nearly 17 month long investigation into a number of facets surrounding the NY Giants, and at this time, the dog would like to provide some general information with regards to the results of the said investigation. The Italian Hotdog will make some brief opening remarks, before allowing time for some questions.

First, the dog would like to thank his team of experts for their tireless efforts. The results of the investigation are in fact conclusive and indisputable, and the dog will share those results now:

    - first, despite many accusations made here from the sportswrath community, Kevin Gilbride was not the second shooter on the grassy knoll during the Kennedy assassination. He was in fact only 12 years old, and at the time was eating burgers at his home. Nor was he involved in hiding any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He is in fact a successful offensive cooridinator with far more experience than any of us in coaching.

    - After significant number crunching and evaluation, the dog's team of experts has concluded that Eli Manning continues to be consistently inconsistent. While the results of the investigation applaud Manning as a strong NFL QB, the data presented draws the conclusion that he is not elite.

    - While this has little to do with the results or pending results of the Giants future success, the dog's team of medical experts are concerned that Tom Coughlin suffers from Rosacea, and should seek immediate consult from a dermatologist.

    - After sufficient research, the Italian Hotdog's investigative team can confirm that Hakeem Nicks is a great talent in the midst of a contract year. There is some evidence that he would like his contract to state that he only has to play in 5 games a year, and will receive a bonus for every game he plays beyond that. For this year, the dog's team of mathematicians have concluded that there is a 50/50 chance that Nicks will play a complete NFL season this year, although there is only a 10% chance of this.

    - There is no evidence of an NFL conspiracy against the NY Giants, nor has there ever been. There is however some evidence that the top brass in the NFL finds Archie Manning painfully irritating.

    - Eating tuna fish for breakfast is never acceptable. Eating tuna fish in your underwear in the gyn locker room at 6:30 AM is flat out disturbing. While this has nothing to do with the Giants, the dog must make note of this: you know who you are. If you are a giants fan and member of this board, the dog is on to you. Leave the tuna at home. The smell in locker room in the morning is god awful.

    - Let's get this out of the way: Bigblue01 is not a superfan. The dog's team of experts has concluded that wearing a goofy outfit and making that declaration does not constitute one being considered a superfan. Having strong knowledge in your team and the NFL in general, and being able to present that knowledge intelligently with fact is in fact indicative of being a superfan. That title, on a side note, has been given to Herb Bosco from Cedar Rapids. Congratulations Herb.

    - While there is no conspiracy against the Giants, the dog is quite certain there is something shady going on invliving the Mannings: there is a direct correlation between the number of free steaks delivered to Archie Manning and the number of times a game Eli Manning yells Omaha at the line of scrimmage. Something is amiss.

    - It has been concluded that injuries are a part of the game and something that every NFL team is faced with every season. It is not an epidemic that impacts only the Giants.

    - Allstarjim doesnt actually coach or work for the Giants. This the dog knew, but his team has confirmed it. Oh well.

That is all for now. The dog will have his team compose an official report to be released in the near future. The dog will now take any questions. Thank you.

  6. Speaking of absolutely clueless... which ones of his 28 carries do you not like? We've played twelve games. The first 5 games the kid had 7 carries. Ask any RB if they can get going on a carry here or a carry there. You can't get into the rhythm of the game like that, or get a feel for the game speed by coming into the game and getting one or two touches. He's a rookie, too. Early on, he had some issues... his ONE fumble on this season, a dropped pass here and there. But now is the time.... it's past time. Get him the ball, because he hasn't really had an opportunity to succeed or fail. On that 5th game, Wilson gets a 40 yard TD run, one of his two carries against the Browns. So the next week he is rewarded with 7 carries... his high total on the season. Against one of the best defenses in the NFL, the 49ers, he runs for 35 yards, a 5.0 avg, including a 20 yarder. Then after that... 4 straight games... only 3 carries total. That's silly. GB game he got 6 carries, didn't find much room. But he was also running the ball there in the 4th quarter of a blowout... obvious run situation, kill clock time. GB just loading the box.

And then 4 carries in this last game. If you think 28 carries in 12 games is a fair shake... I don't know what to tell you. Even with the GB game, and considering all carries on the year, he's a 4.0 ypc back with a 40 yard TD. That's not bad for a guy who has really just been getting a carry or two here and there, and nearly a quarter of his carries came in one game in the 4th quarter of a blowout.

I don't see a kid who doesn't know what he's doing out there. I see a dangerous talent needing a real shot to prove himself. One that is desperate to prove himself... at times earlier in the season, there was a good excuse. Andre Brown was the backup and was running very well. Now, Brown is not part of the picture. Wilson is the backup, but we see a guy on the field that was just signed this past week, who has been cut by multiple teams?

It bothers me more coming off a 1 point loss. Because I see a player that can turn that 1 point loss into a win if given the chance. I see a player that can make drives end in TD's and not FG's.

And Joe, I have to say, Bradshaw didn't have a great game. He had a great first half. He had a poor second half. He and the Giants got very little on the ground in the second half. Which was a major reason we couldn't sustain a drive after halftime.

this debate is so comical that the dog had to briefly poke his head out to weigh in...so here it goes.

david wilson is suddenly the second coming of jim brown. so let's take a look a closer look at this, shall we? you want to applaud his 4 yard a carry average, demonstrating his value despite limited touches, highlighted by a 40 yard td run and a 7 carry for 35 yard game against the 49ers which included a 20 yard run. the dog's further analysis:

the 40 yard run is being highlighted as if it was reminiscent of the great barry sanders in his prime, when in reality it was a 40 yard dash through a solid hole against one of the worst teams in the league with 5 minutes left in a game where they were already up two scores and the starting back had already torched the defense for 200 yards of rushing...this wasnt an electrifying game changing play against the steelers defense. it was a nice sprint against an already exploited garbage run defense.

against the 49ers he had 7 carries for 35 yards, which included a 20 yard run. that means the rest of that game, young david wilson had 6 carries for 15 yards, a poultry 2.5 yards a carry, which, when you take away the 40 yard run against the putrid browns, he achieved what he has all year - a 2.6 yard a carry average.

"but Italian Hotdog," you will plead, "he hasnt had enough carries to prove his value and display his talents"...well, he has had 26 other carries from scrimmage this year, and in all of those carries, his next longest run, hold on to your hats everyone, is 5 yards. then he had two 4 yard runs...he is so explosive and such a talent that in 26 other carries (not to mention the two catches that went for an explosive 5 yards in total), he has not been able to get more than 4-5 yards once...really?

but this isnt even what is most comical. what is most comical is this: of all the fan bases in the league, giant fans more than any other should be recognizing the value of their coaching staff. a coaching staff that has won 2 super bowls in 5 years, taking a team that had less overall talent than others that they faced on the road to win. twice. a team that at multiple times during both seasons had no pulse. these coaches managed to maintain a team's focus, motivation, and effort where a lot of coaches would have had the team quit on them. yet, you (the dog is looking mainly at you "allstar"jim), continue to believe that you know more than they do. you, sitting on your couch, not privy to being on the practice field, in the meeting rooms, on the sidelines, know more than they do. people want to diminish things like him not knowing what he needs to yet to be on the field, but the dog would safely presume that the first time he is on the field and misses an audible, goes the wrong way, fans on a block...etc... and precious little eli gets obliterated by a blitzing linebacker as a result, and finds himself out for the season, somehow you will all find a way to blame the coaches for playing a player that wasnt ready. comical.

maybe wilson will be great. maybe he'll get on the field and prove his value in the next few weeks...when the professional coaches believe he is ready to do so...but to base your argument on his production to date just makes no sense. he has done very little to show much of anything. in the future, the dog suggests watching the game as a fan without trying to live in the fantasy world that you are coaching the team. leave that to those who actually...coach for a living. you'll probably find it more enjoyable.

there now, the dog feels cleansed. time to go back into hibernation...

the dog suggests in the future try

  7.

I seem to remember the name on the GMB, but don't recall any of his posts there. I'm pretty sure the mods over there (even back then) wouldn't put up with the way he posts, so I'm not sure if it's the same poster or not.

The dog was indeed there, and enjoyed the freedom of posting there in the same fashion for about a season or two...then things got a bit intense there and the joy went away...low and behold, sports wrath was created and the dog eventually joined...good to be with you fine people, but the dog does miss the banter with the likes of fbomb and that scoundrel motesay...

  8.

    THANK YOU.

No one turned and ran when the Giants did bad, I left to avoid dipshits like you, dog.

And yet, you come back and continue to try and engage the dog...leave because you can't handle the dog, come back and call for the dog. You are conflicted with this message board as you are with your allegiance to your precious football team...go run a long little guy...you are boring.

  9. Dog ......given that you are a Cowboys fan ...what do you think of Troy nowadays as an 'impartial' commentator ?

the dog is not a cowboys fan (to all who accuse the dog of having no life but who cant seem to get over it, if you are keeping track, and the dog knows you are, then you know the dog has said he is no fan of the giants, cowboys, eagles and patriots...start pining over the remaining 28 teams), but does actually think aikman is pretty impartial. but really, the dog doesn't pay too close attention to the commentating. most of it is pretty weak in general...

  10. Mr. Hotdog, Mr. Hotdog!

    *emphatically raises hand

The members of Sportswrath are a little confused. Are you a deliciously greezy snack that has been blessed not only with potatoes, onions, and peppers, but also with the ability to speak, or are you a Daschund that hails from an Italian family?

the dog is everything that is beautiful and wonderous in the world all wrapped into one fantastic package...interpret that as you will...

  11. Bias is having these opinions as a fan of a division rival. Same lemming argument over and over. You guys are broken records. You don't come her to discuss much when it comes to Manning. It's Biased ranting to the extereme, that never wavers even with new facts and the table has turned.

Deflect, cry that we all want to discuss only the good in the NYG, then bag posters that do the opposite and bail on the team when YOU think it's turn coat.

I have to ask where "elsewhere" do you go to discuss other "topics" and what are these other "topics". The set up for a host of gay jokes are in that statement but I'll pass on it since you think it adolescent in the hopes of getting an adult none evasive answer from you.

    Holding my breath.... :atomic:

hmmm...the extent of the dog's discussion of manning is that the dog has never held him in "elite" status, which seems to irk many here. the dog has given reasonable support for this. Others make reasonable support to argue the opposite. in the end, if it bothers you so much that the dog has this opinion, that is relatively sad. debate it, don't debate it. agree, disagree. but don't get caught up in it that you end up with an ulcer. the dog is just saying, eli manning isn't going to show up on your door step and thank you for your support on sportswrath, so don't hold your breath there.

and if you think the dog hasn't continued to support other aspects of the giants organization, then quite frankly, you are seeing what you want to see. check the dog's support on the coaching staff. the dog for years has supported coughlin and gillbride...funny, how many people want to hang two coaches during their tenure when they have been as successful as they have been...

  12.

No, He's not.. He has stated that twice in this thread. His obvious bias against the Giants is there. But he does not want to reveal who his team is because he doesn't like the critisism to come back his way. So he chooses the cowards way out.

Does it bother you that much that you are unable to discuss a giant related topic with someone who presents a differing view that may not always be favorable of the giants and digress it into insulting another team? The dog comes here to talk giants...the dog will go elsewhere to talk other topics...the dogs advice, get over it...

  13.

Oh, think again our little retarded guest, I believe you and everyone knows what I'm referring to. Don't make me go back and find it.

Tell me.......WHEN DID I COME BACK TO SW???? You flap your gums so much you cant remember which diarrehea of your mouth Im referring to.

The dog knows you came back after a "friend" of yours contacted you...so what? You turn tail and run when the giants struggle. You gave up on them after they lost to the eagles. You gave up on manning after they lost week 1 to the skins...you gave up on them in 2007 after they lost midyear...the dog sees you for what you are, and so this will be most likely be the dogs last interaction...you sir, are what you are, and that is not as entertaining for the dog as it used to be...

  14. This thread has been disappointing. Sadly, what stands out most is FirstandTen's failed attempts to be funny and clever. Just not funny when you try this hard. We need to put you in touch with BigBlue. He has made an art of being unintentionally hilarious. And trust me when I say, it works every single time.

the dog's intentions were pure...but true, the press conference has taken an unfortunate turn. the dog has little time for bigblue at this point, given his true colors being exposed...firstenten has some potential to be entertaining for the dog...he just needs to get out of the preadolescent sexuality material. that just gets old and boring...

  15. "Contribute"!?!? LMAO to what your "press conference"?

Firstnten wonders when the dogs licks his own ass does it taste like shit? And he wonders what the attraction is with Fire hydrants. Also why do you have to hump everyones leg that comes to your home?

the dog wonders again, if it is such an issue for you, why are you continuing to come back to the dog's press conference? it doesnt bother the dog if you want to vent your clear issues here, but the dog really can't guide you through your identity issues and still contribute legitimate time to other discussions of value...
