mickeef2
Gotta give him credit: He's always willing to open his mouth, no matter how bad he looks every time he does it. "We could have just sat back and been content, but knowing that you make the deals, you do feel good because you know that your team is going to be better," said Johnny Damon, who hit his 18th home run yesterday."The one thing I kept referring to is our team is going to be better. Instead of Bubba Crosby, you have Bobby Abreu. Or instead of Aaron Guiel, we have another righthanded bat, Craig Wilson [another trading deadline pickup]. The tough part is you make friendships, relationships, with the other guys, but the guys we've added are better players."

TheShocker
I don't understand. What did he say that wasn't right? He is just nit-picking at the ethics of what Damon said...being that they left and he sort of dissed them.
mickeef2
I don't understand. What did he say that wasn't right? It's an unwritten rule in baseball that you don't say it's good to be getting player x because he's better than the guy he's replacing. Johnny's just a nitwit. Of course, that's my fault. NYHC GIANT
I talked to my cousins' wife last month who lives in boton, and she told me that Damon going to the Yankees really hurt alot of people in boston. Really took it bad. After I stopped smiling, I thought about all those people that had to throw out their fake beards, rip down their damon posters-basically their "boston god" had failed them. Well, from mikeef's thread..I see we still have some broken hearts over at the RSN. Just like a jilted girlfriend who can't go on with their lives. ...and yes..Damons' at a better place...at home with the "EVIL EMPIRE".....
