Tennessee-Cleveland sitting at 1-2.  Gotta think Cleveland is going QB and Tennessee sitting with Levis is going to get a king's ransom for that #1.

Real glad we beat Indy.

we should make the move for Ward.

Well better than 4th at least.  We can do a lot of things here if Tennessee wants to stick with Levis, and if a qb shoots up the board we don’t even have to trade

I can see Tennessee going QB.

Levis has looked just plain awful since taking the reigns and he can't stay healthy.

Cleveland I think is the wildcard, sure they can take a QB but their still going to be in cap hell if they keep or cut Watson.

They could easily trade back for multiple picks/rookie contacts, and still get a QB in round two.

So yeah basically the Giants are fucked either way.

Titans - QB

Cleveland - Trades with the Raiders - QB

Giants - Probably take Milroe LOL

I think I remember reading that Watson was fully guaranteed, what’s the hit if they release him after next year?  If they wanted to draft someone and sit him a year?

Pretty much a lock QBs go 1 and 2, either by the teams ahead of us or a trade. Unless the browns fall in love with Hunter.

Is Hunter really that good?  Take away the dual threat aspect because he’s not playing both ways at the pro level as an every down player. Is he a top 5 pick at either position?

i could see Ewers rise. The year starter at a major school against top competition with success. Gives me Bo Nix vibes. Obviously hasn’t started the number of games that Nix did, but that elite level competition experience means a lot to GMs. I could see him being a top 15 pick this year.

I think they can reasonably cut Watson after 2025. If they cut him before the 2025 season post-June 1 its like $120 million dead money, $45 million cap hit. And they're already $20 million over the cap.

So I guess they could go QB and let him or Watson sit in 2025.... look at that roster though. A lot of talent on that team, they're already going to need to restructure some folks, and if they go QB they almost have to blow it up to build around a prospect. I just don't see them admitting their mistake on Watson and every other player they've brough in, they're going to run it back.

So likely they either take Hunter or trade back?  I’m pet good with our position.

I’m grown comfortable with either QB option at the top if we land one.

If they go 1-2 we’re in a nice position because someone is going to fall in love with Hunter. NE, Jax, LV, Jets, Carolina, SF, Dallas, Miami… all could realistically want that player and want to trade up to get him.

If Shoen and Daboll fall for a guy like Dart or Ewers, they could conceivably trade back a few spots and get him. The problem is if that’s their goal, there are 2 or 3 teams that are likely looking to draft a qb. I can see a repeat of last year with 6 QBs taken in the top 15 picks.

If they go after a bridge QB like Winston or fields, or even take the plunge on Darnold, they can Hunter, trade down and take Ol or dl or cb.

But a bridge seems unlikely. One way or another the giants are entering next season with a guy the current admin expects to start for several years. And I suspect they want to do that in the draft rather than pay Darnold or a guy like Cousins. They’re on thin ice and they are going to want to develop a guy, not roll the dice on Darnold. A 7 win season with a rookie QB that shows real promise buys them both 2026. Paying Darnold based on one season where he did basically what Cousins did in that system and he reverts to his previous baseline gets them both fired before the end of the season.

My guess is they pump up the Hunter talk and hope either someone trades with the Browns to take him so Ward falls to 3, or someone trades with them (raiders or NE would be best)  and hope they can get Dart or Ewers a few spots later.

i can’t imagine a situation, putting myself in their shoes, where I leave the first round without a qb. Not saying that’s the right move, but considering a statement about their job safety needed to be made in season and after, and that any qb available has huge risks, it seems unlikely they go any other direction. And these guys desperately want to draft and develop their guy at qb.

I dont think Cleveland goes QB - they are stuck with Watson for another whole year+ - theyd rather trade down for a lot of draft capital to assist the next QB in 2026.

Titans - yeah they very well might want a QB considering Will Levis's weekly highlight reel which always included some sort of a non-stop nonsense brain-fade that it became a running meme.

Personally - Id go with Fields, trade down for draft capital, and draft your QB next year if you dont ABSOLUTELY ARE 100% sure of your guy - the way EA was about Eli. And I dont want them to draft a QB only for the coaching staff to be replaced in a year again and this shit-show re-cycles for another 3-4 years.

Darnold is out of reach considering the season he has had unless he absolutely shits the bed in the playoffs.

Plus - Hunter might be the most intriguing/over-rated since he wont be playing both sides in the NFL. In that regard, is he truly worthy of a top guy on either side unless its both sides??? Im not sure.

I think we decide on QB only around March end or Mid-April depending on the buzz AT THAT TIME. Too early to call.

What QB are we drafting next year? This idea of trying to target a QB in the 2026 draft, when it's not even clear who the top guy is or if they'll even declare, is downright silly...it's stupid even if we knew who the guy is. That means you have to be bad against next year (losing 12 games or more), assuming the guy you're looking for is a top 5 QB.

- Arch is a RS Freshmen (will be Sophmore) who has started a total of three games. There's no guarantees on him, let alone even declaring.

- Nico is also a RS Freshman, who's looked awful when playing against top competition (and then he feasts and pads his stats on lesser competition). Same thing as Arch: There's no guarantees on him, let alone even declaring.\

- Nussmeier could possibly be a 1st rounder, but nobody's raving about him as a big time prospect.

It is like gambling at a certain point.  You have to have the courage of your own convictions and just pull the trigger.  Just go with it sometimes.  You can come up golden, covered in crap or somewhere in the middle.  However you have to take a stand.  The main mistake as management is to try to fine tune what you can or should do.  Just go with the flow sometimes.  Keep holding back trying to make that monster pick... well that strategy has gotten them a decade of mediocrity or poor play.  They have to step sideways instead of forward and back.
